“I don’t often have takeaway food that is noteworthy but this was an exception. I had the lamb ribs today that are cooked over charcoal and they were simply sensational. So sweet, tender, smoky and juicy. 10/10. The rice was the lightest, and fluffiest I’ve had too. I cannot speak highly enough of this place. Very friendly people too.”

“Came here today with my 3 daughters, food was lovely and fresh, food took around 10 mins to cook as it was cooked fresh, the server gave us free soup whilst we were waiting, the soup was delicious, the portions were very large so we took the rest home for lunch the next day, customer service was also amazing, very polite and friendly, prices were great too. “I am shocked at how few people were in The Place. Bar staff are very polite and friendly. Prices are excellent. Food! Excellent! Proper cheese on a pizza. Fishfinger sized slabs of meat in the cowpie, which all fell apart beautifully! Carvery was very generous with meat and was all in all wonderful. Also, dog friendly throughout is very convenient! “Walked from Clifton to try here this Friday lunchtime and was not disappointed........Ordered a large fish and large chips with gravy to share.................It was cooked to order in less than 10 minutes and was just perfectly cooked;. The batter was crispy, the fish so fresh and the chips really hit the spot and the two us couldn't manage the lot....The gravy was really thick and tasty too, Albie was most obliging, even placing the order on a handy carry out tray for us......The glass covered frontage eating area was very cosy on a zero degree day......... A few regulars came and went as we were enjoying....we'll be back too..........”

“I went here with my partner for his birthday and honestly, it was one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was just spot on, stylish without being pretentious, buzzing but still intimate enough for a date night. Our host sam was great, you can tell he genuinely knows his stuff, especially when it comes to the steaks. We went for his recommendations: the padron peppers, short rib croquettes, the tomahawk steak, and for dessert, the cheesecake and chocolate delice. Every single dish was unreal. The steak especially was next level, cooked perfectly and packed with flavour. The service felt personal and relaxed, and the staff clearly take pride in what they do. They also catered to my partners food allergy and were attentive throughout. For the quality of food, the atmosphere, and the level of care, the price was completely reasonable. “Wow! So good! Came here for a birthday dinner and had the best time. I’d highly recommend. The food was impeccable, my partner is a vegetarian and had the most amazing dining experience, we usually spend our time in restaurants talking and talking but we were totally silent for about half an hour as we ate. Everything was incredibly delicious, my fillet steak was to die for! However, our favourite part was the incredible service. From the minute we stepped in the hostess was welcoming and friendly, she was so lovely and set a high standard of high quality. Our waitress Meg was incredible. She was very kind and friendly, she really made the night for us. A big thanks to all the staff working tonight, especially the woman who recommended our wine, as they truly made the experience wonderful. We will definitely be back! The staff really do work hard and it shows, everyone was so so lovely. If you’re in the Clifton area PLEASE go to this restaurant you won’t regret it. 10/10”

“Fantastic bar. Very knowledgeable and engaged staff. Fantastic cocktail selection and a great combination of local drinks, spirits and bar snacks. Decor is funky and fun, individual and in keeping with the feel of the place. Highly recommended. Do visit and enjoy. Plus they have Octomore Whisky!!!”

“Was finding somewhere to eat around East Street and didn't fancy anywhere. I remembered The Toast Room, which I'd never been but the exterior is memorable to me for its lovely turquoise paint and wooden sign. I chose a salad plate and it was so delicious and flavourful! I rarely choose salad (I feel it's too boring) but this was excellent - I'm not sure what it all was but it had delicious spiced chipotle butter beans as well as green beans (usually boring again, right) but these were so tasty and citrusy! And some sweet, crunchy red cabbage slaw-type stuff, as well as some spiced houmous. I savoured it all and it only cost £5.50 and was actually very filling! Highly recommend!
