“Really good pizza, the shop now takes card payment, so we'll be visiting a lot more :) They also have great food staters, garlic bread, olives, etc The shop also sells earrings, picture frames, from local creators as well as vegetables and eggs, also fresh and local. Lots of outdoor seating as well as a few indoor tables. Well worth a visit if you're passing on the A38 Still a great place and even more desserts too! Still as awesome as ever!”

“My partner and I booked a stay here in September 2024 for his birthday weekend. From the initial phone call I was impressed with how accommodating they were. I have various dietary needs and usually going away anywhere is quite stressful, however the staff here put my mind at ease immediately. They had multiple options for me to eat at breakfast and the evening meal we had was delicious! In hindsight we should have eaten here on both evenings as the food is amazing! The room was lovely, warm, clean and nicely decorated. The hotel location is perfect for walking through Tintern itself and equally for a short drive to Chepstow. The staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to make our stay memorable. Grace was very attentive, always checking in to reassure me about my food choices and to check that we were happy with everything. We would love to stay here again, perhaps with more time to explore further afield this time!”

“Greeted with friendly staff , food served promptly. Food was fresh and hot Eveything was delicious , ordered more than we thought we could eat due to the portion sizes. Had to pack away food as it was too good to waste. Can’t really complain apart from the lack of parking available near by.”

We were staying at Cheddar Woods for the weekend and popped out to meet friends to raise a glass for my daughters 21st ... we all like cider so seemed like it was the place for us :) ..... Really cosy and quirky place .... warm fire ... the lushest dogs .... Staff & regular's all made us feel welcome and our pet dog Eve loved it too .... Had fab pizza's and burgers - timed it wrong as had to leave just before live music started! Will definitely return and 100% recommend ... wish we had a local like this .... “Great, quirky local pub. Eclectic decor, often a DJ in amongst the crowd. Can be quite noisy so not always the best place for a ‘quiet’ chat. Good live music from time to time too.”

“Pretty decent food for a good price, I had a milkshake and burger. The chips were fantastic and so was the milkshake! The burger was decent too. The main takeaway from eating here was the atmosphere was really quite nice in my opinion. It was busy and the decor was awesome! The service was decent but the kitchen is quite small so food did take some time to come out. But if your not in a rush its worth a visit.”

“Lovely little pub in a sleepy village on the outskirts of Bath. My partner and I stayed for one night and it felt really homely and comfortable. The staff were friendly and attentive and the room was spacious, clean, and cozy. The bed was so comfy too! Highly recommend for anyone visiting the area.”

“We were able to agree exclusive use of the restaurant/ conservatory for our family wedding reception on Saturday. The team at the Rising Sun were very helpful with the arrangements and helped set up the conservatory according to our seating plan. A family friend arrived early to decorate the room and it looked lovely. We had to pre order our food,but that meant we all got to choose exactly what we wanted. So much better than a set menu. All the good arrived on time, was hot and tasty, with generous portions. Huge portions of pudding were gratefully received. “I absolutely love this pub's Sunday roasts. They are to die for. Today's chicken roast was cooked absolutely perfectly. The chicken was moist, came apart well, the seasonings are delightful and the veg to go with it still had that nice fresh veg crunch to it. Also, they have a bearded dragon so that's kinda cool.”

“I definitely recommend this place! The size of the burger is very generous and the ingredients are fresh and tasty! The man behind the counter is very sweet and warm with the customers, he even offered me a free cheese sauce for my fries and they have a very beautiful atmosphere in the dining area. It’s a must try if you are in the Bristol area! In the picture you can see the avocado burger with chicken and I loved it.”

“Wow what can I say, we had the most amazing Sunday roast. Huge portions, fantastic value and most importantly, everything was utterly delicious. The new owners have done an incredible job on the pub, it’s so cosy and the beer garden has to be one of the nicest in Bristol. Great food, great pints and great people. Can’t wait to come back!”
