“We came tonight as a group of 5 for the Festive menu. The staff were all welcoming, friendly and really looked after us. The table was decorated festively and the food was amazing. “This is one of my favourite spots for watching rugby matches, especially for Six Nations. The ancient is great, fun and respectful. Just book a time with time, it is very popular! The spot is so convenient and connected in Gloucester Rd.”

“Came in after the circus on the Downs was cancelled due to high winds. There were 11 of us in total, with six kids under 12. Staff were incredibly welcoming, they played with the kids, gave them free ice creams and were generally really friendly. We stayed far longer than we planned. Excellent pub, highly recommend it.”

“One of my favourite stores to buy hot chocolate powder. We can buy it for ourselves or as a souvenir/gift for family or friends. Many variety of chocolate, and tea to choose. The store provides free sample of hot chocolate, hot white chocolate, and some hot teas. The staff was friendly, and helpful. Toilets for customers are not available.”

“We are Malaysians and to see some of the items such as Hainanese Chicken Rice, Rendang Beef and Nasi Goreng on the Menu is so heart warming. We ordered the Mapo Tofu, Fried Fish Rice Noodles in Creamy Broth, and Fried Pork Chop Curry and Rice, all were delicious, however the Mapo Tofu isn't to our taste. We might go for some other items on the menu as there are plenty to choose from. The portions are generous. My son who had the Pork Chop finished his plate very quickly, and he said its very tasty. “I called in here as it was open to the public and it is within the grounds of the University of Bristol Vet School - I used my birthday bus pass and called in for drinks/snack - serviced easily - it was a student day and lunch time at around 12 noon so you may get swamped with students but the atmosphere was good - limited choice and prices reasonable but it fits its purpose - it is open Monday to Friday 10.00 to 1600”

“Really good Chinese and fast to prepare food. Never had any issue with the quality of the food. Really nice delivery guy also. (The guy with the black glasses). He was very polite and had change ready for me straight away. Don't normally tip but he was fantastic and gave great service. Well done! Will order again for sure!”

“Very pleased with my purchase of G plan Hartford 3 seater settee, armchair and foot stool. Hazel was very helpful with her advice for the Tempur bed that we purchased. Delivery was on time and Chris who delivered and installed the chairs and bed was courteous and removed all the packaging from site. Excellent service from start to finish and will definitely visit this store in Shepton Mallett again.”

I ordered the Samosas as starters, the Palau Rice (the cashier' recommendation), the Honey Lamb and the Garlic Nan Bread. The plates are delicious, great portions and great price. “I'm here often, the coffee is great and the cakes on offer are excellent! In spring, summer, and later autumn, you can sit outside on a lovely warm terrace and be served your drinks and food. It's my time out space, I've often come here to stop, think, and look for a while and the staff are always friendly and helpful too. Plus the added advantage of beautiful cake, the pear cake is delicious and with a great latte your well on your way to a great pit stop and top up to set you right for the rest of the day!”

We needed to exchange a few items and there was no problem at all with sorting this. “Lovely drinking spot on the edge of the village. Next to the main road turning. Quality served peroni I had . And garlic butter prawns. Very tasty. A good bit of banta with the staff including the chef. I was even allowed to charge my dead phone. As I was meant to be down in the village at a wedding venue. And kneeded to let them know I was running late due to train delays. But they have a good sized carpark out back as well. Thanks guys.”

“I’ve eaten here before and felt confident ordering the steak pie, mum had the chicken and leak pie. On this occasion the pastry on the pie bases and lids was soft/soggy and we didn’t eat it. We did let the server know but said we’d eat the rest of the meal as we were time restricted today. Glad we had 40% off though as paying full price would have definitely sent both pies back. 2nd review - Sept 25 We were invited back by the manager. This visit was totally different. We both had the pies again and this time they were fabulous. Crusty pastry, veg was good, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. On this visit we would definitely eat here again.
