“We visited Bath Spa University for an open day. We were totally taken aback by the outstanding rural setting, considering its proximity to the built up, World Heritage Site, Bath. Newton Park's Main House, built for Joseph Langton from 1762-1765 set in Capability Brown gardens and leased from the Prince of Wales, is Grade 1 listed. The site has been expanded over the years. with sympathetic and contemporary additions, to make up the campus present today. The staff and pupils were amazing. What a gem!”

“Lovely location up on the hill above Street, very near Glastonbury. Very friendly, helpful staff on duty. Boys did some folding of linen, which they enjoyed. Stayed in one of the two wooden camping pods in autumn school half term (very snug and warm) and used the self-catering kitchen. Beautiful misty views over Somerset in the morning, with Glastonbury Tor appearing majestically through thee low clouds in the distance. Had a nice walk along the ridge to an old windmill. You can walk down to Street. Don't try driving up the narrow unmade track to the hostel (liable to scrape bottom of car on the grass between the tyre tracks). Park in the little carpark up behind the hostel instead. Very short walk from there to the pods.”

“I lived close to Stoke lodge both before and after the fence went up in 2019, and my mum still lives nearby. I walked our dog there daily, before and all throughout the pandemic until leaving the area in 2022, and I hardly ever saw Cotham school actually using the field. Not only that, the area fenced off was huge, far bigger than a school could reasonably use for sporting activities! Once the (ugly) fence went up it was possible only to walk around a narrow perimeter close to undergrowth and which felt very secluded, lonely and unsafe in parts as a woman alone. Watching the local news I’m now aware that the school is still contesting the removal of the fence and I’m also noting they’ve spent time here on google responding to previous reviewers and telling them they’re not allowed on the land. I’m astonished at the school’s behaviour and continuing attitude and hope the courts make the right decision.”

“We stayed here whilst attending a wedding over the road. The pub has a limited number of rooms in a separate building to the side. Our room was very comfortable and quiet with coffee/tea making facilities and well appointed shower room. We couldn't fault it. As for the pub itself, I had a quick look around when returning our room key. All I can say is that I wish it was my local! A really cosy and classic old English village pub. Thank you.”
