“We had our kitchen/diner designed and project managed by Trevor at Holmetree - 22 years after having our last kitchen from there. The process was slick and professional from the outset. We were involved at all stages of the design process, and any changes we requested were implemented. Communication was phenomenal. Planning and time frames were perfect and totally on schedule throughout. The installation experience wasn’t at all stressful - and we even had a wall knocked down as part of it! The units were beautifully crafted and built in the workshop. The installation team were equally skilled in all aspects. Furthermore, building works, electrics, plumbing, decorating and tiling teams were all of the highest standard. And what made it even better was that everyone was so friendly and lovely to have around. I described the whole experience as an “exciting journey”. Attention to detail in the finished kitchen is second to none. We are very grateful to the Holmetree family for creating a whole new lifestyle for our home. We have had nothing but compliments about the kitchen.”

“We had our new kitchen fitted in October 2023. We also had a complete new house rewire. Also had new radiators, pipes and boiler. We are very pleased with our kitchen and the job that was done. A few observations about the whole process: Design - This process is not rushed and they are not pushy. This is good as you can get the kitchen how you want it before committing. - They will present you with a 3d design that is far superior to Wren. And is mostly accurate to the finished kitchen. - They are flexible on sourcing appliances and other bits like door handles. In my case I got them to price match appliances on internet like Currys etc. They will purchase them and fit them. You just register the warranty yourself. With Wren they have a predetermined list of appliances that are cheaper due to mass orders. - They will make bespoke cabinets to size. We requested cabinets around our fridge and boiler. They were all cut to size and look good. Wren just flat said no to bespoke cabinets.Wren only do standard size. - They are professional. None of the people at this company are pushy or disrespectful. Every time I contacted them it was all very pleasant. - They will do extra jobs like outdoor taps and sockets for garden. Installation - Workers were professional and friendly. - They do not rush the job. If they run into a problem they will advise you. And will pause the installation until it is fixed. - They use regular contractors who all know each other. Wren/Howdens you get your own tradesmen or off their approved list which doesn't mean much. - They will put sockets wherever you want them. - They will do things properly such as subflooring. A tradesmen previously wanted to tile over an uneven floor. Little kitchen levelled and damp proofed the floor. - It is going to get messy and dirty. Prepare yourself. - If you do not like something tell them and they will fix it. Finished kitchen - The finished kitchen is very well fitted. And minor manufactured paint blemishes on panels were quickly replaced. A few pointers for room for improvement. - A couple of weeks before the build they should of sent me a rough plan of what was happening and when. They know what they are doing but I didn't. I contacted them and they responded in good time. - During the process they should give a basic status of what is happening. I moved out for all the works and wasn't there in the day. Why I have given them 5 stars - What sets this company above all other kitchen fitters is their customer service. Any problems you have will be resolved quickly during design, installation, and during the warranty period. They are not going to take your money and run. Or make it hard to resolve issues in a timely manner. As an example I had water on my floor and they came out and fixed a failed washer next day. - Their prices are more expensive than the kitchen mass production power houses. But not by a massive amount and they are flexible so if you want to source something yourself they will fit it. All in all a top company.”

“As a mere d I y er builders merchants can sometimes be quite intimidating, if you don’t speak the language of the trade. Not the case at buildbase in Hatton ,all of the sales and yard staff are extremely friendly and helpful.”

“My parents purchased a new sofa and two new chairs. Richard, was incredibly helpful during the purchase. Once the sofas arrived, my Mum didn't get on with her chair. She was getting aches and pains from sitting in it. I called the store and spoke with Richard and he suggested that they pop down again to see what could be done. They went down and he swapped the chair for them. To this family owned company, it is important for them to give good customer service and have their customers happy. And it shows. My Mum was so happy with the new chair and how Richard once again, looked after them. I called to thank him personally. We live in a world that loves to complain. But we rarely give good feed back where it's due. I will be purchasing my furniture from them from now on. Thank you all for a positive interaction.”

“I love my new kitchen. It was small and dark with very little work surface. It is still small but feels so much bigger and brighter now. I had a fairly clear idea of what I wanted - in such a small space there were limited options for major changes. I asked 3 firms to come in to design and quote. I am sure the other 2 were fine but Richard picked up on potential issues, design details that the others just did not see. Issues were addressed at the design stage meaning I was not dealing with numerous phone calls or questions during the construction stages. He also was the only one that came up with a solution to improve the lighting and it is a great solution. The guys he brought in to do the individual jobs were all good and the project finished on schedule and on budget. It cost me more than I initially intended to spend but I have finished up with exactly what I want, with minimal stress or hassle. I don't regret a penny (or pound).”

“Very helpful and highly recommended if you want a non pushy experience. We have been doing our utility room and kitchen over a period of several years (yes, shush my wife is patient!) and I was going to be doing pretty much all the work. As a consequence of this, we had our own overall design, ideas and goals but what I wanted was something a bit different than picking bits from B&Q etc. but equally didn't want to engage with a company who only wanted to fit everything and charge labour. Equally, I was interesting in finding a company who were prepared to validate our ideas and based upon their experience, give advice in areas which we might not have fully considered and offer suggestions where they have encountered similar problems in the past. After all, this is their day job, it's not mine! We got all of this through working with David and Andrew and were delighted with the constructive help and our end result. At no time was there a hint of sales pushing, which only adds to the other reviews which echo the same. David and Andrew have plenty of experience about what works and what doesn't and if you spend the time and take on board the information that they can provide as part of your build, you'll get a result to be proud of. So, If you want to have a relaxed discussion pop in and chat with David and Andrew, just try to avoid Saturday mornings as they're understandably at their most busy.”

“"Lovely Furniture Store" I placed an order last Sunday for a pair of bar chairs / Stools. The lady checked the stock levels on the system for me and said it may be several weeks for delivery to Store. I was fine with that I'm in no rush. I received an email yesterday, contacted the Store to make sure they were in before I travelled, and sure enough they were. I collected them this morning, very polite, front of house staff and the lads in the warehouse are superb, taking every effort to load them correctly into my vehicle. I find the store just brilliant, not pushy at all, browse at your leisure and ask for help when you need it. I find this balance perfect to try things out for comfort before you buy. “We were having problems locating a curtain track of the length we required. The staff were amazing but a special mention should go to Matt who checked stock at other local branches and managed to locate what we wanted. We were able to collect it later that day - Christmas living room now complete. Thank you to all staff at Burton and also Tash at Stafford who found what we wanted in the stock room and put it aside for us to collect. Fabulous customer service, nothing was too much trouble.”
