“A Fantastic Dining Experience at The Queen’s Head We had a wonderful evening at The Queen’s Head. The pork tomahawk and sirloin steak were both cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and packed with flavour. Paired with a lovely bottle of red wine, the meal was truly memorable. The service was friendly and attentive throughout, making us feel very welcome. Highly recommend for anyone looking for quality food and a warm atmosphere!”

“Exactly what a pub should be like in my opinion! Proper 'old school feel' with a fantastic beer selection. Not sure about food as I didn't ask...the crisps and nuts were good though...like I say old school!”

“Been coming to the pub for years and ever since Fiona has taken the pub over it had been booming. Great music playing with live music a lot of the time with James Bond playing on the tv which never goes amiss. So happy to see the pub thriving again it’s a great little place full of locals that will talk to anyone. Would deffo recommend!”

“Lovely little restaurant located in the heart of Burton upon Trent. The staff are polite and friendly and the prices (Lunch time menu) are inexpensive for a decent dish. I have been multiple times and it's been decent throughout. My only complaint is that the chicken pieces could be a little higher in quality overall. But that wouldn't stop me from going back again.”

“Had the best night at The Bell for Dining Club! The food was absolutely amazing – every course was spot on and so tasty. Big shoutout to Max and Jack in the kitchen – you guys smashed it. “We recently had a large family Christmas meal at The Palfrey, and it was an excellent experience. The private room was beautifully arranged and provided a great atmosphere for our gathering. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure everything ran smoothly. The selection of craft beers was a real highlight, offering something for everyone. The food was very well prepared and full of flavour. The salmon was perfectly cooked, and the mussels were fresh and enjoyable. Every dish was clearly made with care, and the presentation was spot on. Overall, it was a fantastic venue for our family celebration. We’d definitely recommend The Palfrey for anyone looking for good food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere.”

“Lovely location, building and outdoor area. I used the car park whilst doing the Anchor Church Trail and popped in for a pint after. The service from James was superb, not just to me, but consistently from what I observed, I’d say the best I’ve personally witnessed, kind & personable. Great pint as well, would recommend.”

“The Boot is half walk to meet my mom, and we’ll 100% be back. Fabulous location just off the A38, and plenty of parking. The food was sublime and a wine list to generously accompany the dishes. A running theme with all my reviews is that I like a nice wine list and the Boot offers exactly that. The food was so fresh and full of flavour, beautifully presented. A real Gastro Pub that welcomes dogs which is important for us as a family of dog owners, who enjoy the finer things. Thank you to the wonderful Heidi who look after us, you made mom’s birthday experience thorough enjoyable. We’ll be back!”

“So came here in April 25 for a casual dinner to celebrate my wife’s birthday. 4 year old daughter was in tow. The spring menu was Italian themed. I have to say that this is a proper gastro pub. The food is excellent. Really high quality and very very tasty. Portion size is good so you won’t leave hungry. Expresso martinis are delicious as was the wine. As it was my wife’s birthday they brought out a brownie and a candle and some ice cream for my daughter just so she wouldn’t feel left out. Luckily this is in vicinity and is out go to place when we want some decent food and a nice night out. We’ll be back.”

“Located in a pretty village location The Malt is an excellent pub and restaurant. We visited at the end of last week after having booked a table for a meal there. On entering, the pub is attractively set out decor wise, and gives a cosy and welcoming look and feel, We were welcomed very pleasantly by the lady running the main bar. She even took the time and trouble to take us through herself to the eating area and ensure that we had all the information we needed to order. It’s also good to find a pub where you can order at the table rather than have to keep going up to the bar to do so The food was excellent overall and represented fair value for money. All the other staff we encountered after the first lady were equally pleasant and attentive. If you are driving to the pub, there is a small car park with probably around five or six spaces, but there is plenty of on the street parking nearby also. Overall, a great experience, and one that I think will be repeated by us at some point in the future. Five stars for The Malt from me.”
