“Wonderful - a must visit, must see, must eat, if you are in Lieth. Bagel was awesome with an egg cooked in the middle, so many seasames too, and the apple tea was so delicate and delicous like eating crisp red apples.”
“We visit Edinburgh maybe 1-2 times a year and hands down, the Cafe Edinburgh is always wonderful. We're always greeted like old friends and it is always our first choice. Some lovely Scottish twists on menu items (add some haggis to your breakfast roll!). The staff are top-notch and friendly (shout out to Cathy/ possibly Cassy who was delightful and took time to take a photo of our family together).”
“We had the smoked salmon and avocado toasties, full brekky, kids pancakes and chipotle chicken panini. Every dish was excellent. My 9 year had the full brekky and she enjoyed every item on it, not a single item she didn’t like. She declared this as the best breakfast she had in Scotland. Pancakes were browned to perfection and fluffy inside. Smoked salmon toastie and the chicken panini were excellent too.”
“Best lasagna I’ve ever had. Homemade noodles. From USA and this place in Scotland was amazing. Food came out piping hot which I love”
“Such a lovely place. Staff is really nice and helpful. Loads o vegan options and food is simply delicious. We didn't wait long and service was swift. Highly recommend.”
“Absolutely superb food and service. Thank you all. All 12 of us descended on you, hungry and thirsty in the heat. We were served great coffee, the best panini you could wish for and best of all, huge slabs of fantastic cakes! I don't know how you do it in such a small space. But, we were very grateful. Thanks ❤️”
“Went in for a breakfast and had an amazing experience we were served by Allison who was so lovely and very helpful food was delicious would recommend and will definitely be back”
“Nice clean cafe. Pleasant staff. And as you can see by the picture, food is great.”
“Second time to this shop near Waverly station. We love their coffee and this time we came for a morning bite. Lovely place, people and coffee. Definitely a place to try if you haven't tried it yet.”
“A lovely place to have a snack or even some warm soup on a cold rainy day! The atmosphere is simply enchanting, sweet yet simple decorum with a glaze of the best jazz classics, it feels like you’re in your own home but with better views. Highly recommend trying out their sweets, as they collaborate with small bakeries and are not outrageously sweet.”
“The shop maybe doesn’t look like much however best breakfast and loved the make your own breakfast option. Caramel Latte was the best coffee I’ve ever had, actually tasted like caramel unlike many larger chain cafes which would be more expensive. Would definitely recommend and go back.”
“The place was so beautiful, I went up stairs which was a great old space! Had a black pudding Hot Filled roll! The ladies who were behind the counter were so welcoming and the food was made in house the rolls and flat white were both so good (the roll was amazing so fresh and fluffy) and did I mention it is cheap too!?!?! Cause as a broke backpacker this was the only thing I could afford and it was worth every penny!!! Best little spot in town!!!”
“You need to book in advance to avoid disappointment. They limit the number of visitors. There is a 90minute time slot allocated, which is far enough to get a good look around and listen to the guide as they brings you the history of the chapel. Well worth a visit if you are visiting Scotland. It is a good opportunity to set foot inside this chapel that was used in filming the famous Da Vinci Code movie.”
“Good place, tasty food, good portions and affordable. Would go again, and the guy who makes the food is nice as well and seem to have a passion for making his food.”
“Great people and great food/drinks, if you’re in the area this is your spot. Really friendly owners as well! Sausage roll was fantastic”
“My little girl had her fourth birthday party at Tots Spot and it was fantastic! We had exclusive use of the place for all of her friends and they provided lovely snack boxes. The place all set up for us and spotlessly clean. Sarah was so helpful throughout and couldn’t do enough to help us. It was so relaxed and enjoyable, I would 100% recommend!”
“Really nice/friendly wee place to get a quick bite, I can highly recommend their spinach and feta pastry (like a spanokopita but not as dry/flaky - much softer/denser) - absolutely delicious & I will 100% be back for another one very soon (can confirm it works very well heating it up in the air fryer guys!)”
“I went with a friend, and chose to get there at 11:15am to get seated, as you can't book parties of two. We got a seat just in time for me to order a full Scottish breakfast, which they removed a few items from at my request - it was totally delicious - well cooked bacon, sausages were also well cooked, but nice and soft texture, perfect fried egg! Runny yolk, and nice non-rubbery white, baked beans... pots of tea. My friend had a burger and chips, which she polished off and then she had a gluten free apple cake and a latte! They let me get a lentil soup to go, and the shop has yummy tablet, and a lot of German beer and lager. Staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. Best breakfast I've ever had! Thank you, Mannerstons!”
“Lovely cafe inside the Eden Locke Hotel. There is great service and a good selection of both drinks and breakfast. We tried the cream cheese bagel and cheese and Serrano ham croissant and both of them where really good. Both of us hade the orange juice and its was good, we like that it were served with ice. The smoothie of the day was a tropical one and it was also great. Friendly staff and fast service. The only negative is that sometimes it can be hard to find a table.”
“My partner Mic and I absolutely loved this little cafe. It’s got the best food and the couple that run it are so lovely and welcoming you feel like your locals and friends the second you enter the shop. If you’re staying in the South Bridfe area, definitely stop in for a coffee or a delectable croissant, or even just a friendly chat with the owners.”
“The pictures say it all. Everything you could want from a cafe for an excellent price!”
“I watched Beetlejuice and I was impressed. Not just by the film. The cinema is very posh and beautiful and the staff couldn't be more helpful . I also liked the selection of snacks and drinks. The seats were very comfortable and there was the possibility to lift up your legs. The restrooms were spotless . All in all it was a luxurious experience, especially given it's location.”
“A cozy spot with delicious food, friendly service, and a lovely garden at the back. A great place to relax and enjoy a quality meal in Edinburgh.”
“We’ve come up from London and looking for a lovely place to enjoy breakfast with our dog. The cafe is dog friendly, the staff gave her water and cuddles! And we ordered sausages for our dog, which the staff went to the extra length to cut them up for her! Highly recommend, good food and lovely service!”
“April 24’ Saturday morning Come here early, it will be packed easily. Family friendly and bookable tables. Flat white has nice balance of coffee taste and milk, tastes fresh and nice.”
“We had an amazing breakfast here. I would love to come back if we travel to Edinburgh again. The staff was lovely and the food delicious. I enjoyed my flat white and the fun decorations of the place.”
“Love coming here, the food is very very good and reasonably priced, the service is phenomenal, the kids love the attention and care they receive every time we come here”
“I stopped for a cup of tea to enjoy the gardens and views, but the salads looks so tantalizing, I had to have a bowl. The setting is a perfect setting to relax.”
“Lovely. Perfect spot to chill with a nice coffee, cake and great atmosphere. And the pistachio and cranberry flapjack (with a white chocolate topping) was divine ... possibly the best I've ever tasted!”
“Amazing little cafe, tha pancakes and burgers were delicious. Beautiful friendly welcoming atmosphere and attentive generous staff. If we are up in Livingston again will definitely be coming!”
