“We are still not out of the woods but wanted to reassure anyone who has to take their beloved pet here as an emergency that these people will do everything they can. My cat Winston was feeling poorly and not eating too well. After taking him to my normal vet (Dundas Veterinary Group: never again) they told me his creatinine value was 1200 which is not good. 24 hours of fluids and no pain management, only trying to get him some gabapentin via food which he wasn’t eating and his condition was not improving and second blood panel showed 2300 creatinine. I didn’t want to give up especially since no imaging had been done so we received a priority referral to the small animal hospital and the treatment and bedside manner has been night and day. Winston was put on antibiotics, fluids and imaging was done among other things. These things take time and as of this morning his kidney values are back to normal ! Even if things do not end the way we want, I am so comforted by the fact that my cat is getting the absolute best care. Thank you to Joel and Esther and the team for taking such good care your patients and their owners.”

“My little old man was very unwell and tired towards the end. The care and love the vet shown at this time was amazing. She was so lovely and made the moment easier. My boy looked like he just slipped peacefully. The after care was amazing also. I requested his footprints and I received a beautiful paw print in a keepsake box along with prints of his nose and a little glass bottle of his fur. “We were recently on holiday in the beautiful North Berwick when our dog became unwell. We couldn’t quite put our fingers on it as usually we know when he’s having his usual skin and ear issues. All we knew was that he wasnt himself and was in pain. His tail was down, he wanted to be alone, and he yelped if we stroked his back. Being away from home we were worried as not near our usual vet and didn’t know how it would all work. We were seen the same day (midday). The vet conducted a thorough examination as it wasnt an easy one to diagnose. They had his records from our vet too. In the end it was decided he must have a trapped nerve or something (apparently common for his breed and incredibly painful. He’s 8 so we have done well to avoid it until now!). So we were given pain relief for him and advised that if after a week he wasnt better then to come again/go to our vet. Sadly he had to be on bed rest and missed quite a bit of the holiday fun, but a few days on and it’s like nothing had ever happened! Im so thankful to the links veterinary group and implore others to use their services. Thank you so much for getting us our happy guy back!”
