“They are perfect, will do anything to help”
“Had a wonderful long weekend stay for ten of us celebrating my parents diamond wedding anniversary, a superb quality set up that I wouldn't hesitate to book again, a credit to the owners 10/10.”
“A hidden gem in a place to stay while in Edinburgh.”
“Always pleasant, saved a holiday that other agent let us down on, always very helpful and genuine.”
“Our family’s Christmas 2023 was planned and held at Fenton Tower from the 23rd to 27th. We also booked a Lodge to accommodate the whole family of 15. To say it was exceptional does not really do it justice. The way the staff looked after us all was superb, nothing was too much trouble. We, as a family, can only thank Alan and his team for helping to create a fantastic experience that will add to our collective memories of a wonderful Christmas past.”
“Just booked a holiday to Prague with these guys and the service was 2nd to none and Lorraine was awesome to deal with as it was all done with emails and phone from Aussie Thanks Lorraine and see you in August .”
“Spent the weekend here with our family, excellent accommodation, plenty of space for the grandchildren to play, especially the outside area. The house was in a secluded area with beautiful views and the sheep in the field added to the enjoyment of the kids, would certainly recommend.”
“I recently had the pleasure of interacting with Matthew Bringloe while viewing a property, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. From the very start, his communication was excellent—clear, prompt, and professional. Despite me missing our initial appointment, he kindly arranged to come again early in the morning to accommodate my schedule, demonstrating both patience and commitment. Matthew’s extensive experience in the field was evident. He was incredibly knowledgeable, answering all my questions with confidence and insight. Beyond his expertise, he was also extremely friendly, making the entire process smooth and enjoyable. His professionalism, reliability, and approachable nature set him apart. I would highly recommend Matthew to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and dedicated professional in the property market. He is truly outstanding at what he does.”
“It’s so easy to stay in a generic location at this price, a faceless chain where the experience meets the same stamped-out expectations gained elsewhere. Spend about the same and it’s possible to stay somewhere different and, in the case of Porteous’ Studio, it’s supporting the creative talent of two young architects. Keen to experience work which has had a lot of critical acclaim, a stay for a couple of nights enabled me to enjoy at first hand the care and detail. Carefully sourced and hand-crafted furniture and detail make this stand out from the crowd. Perfectly sized for a few days away, located very centrally off the Grassmarket, the studio was somehow a combination of welcoming and spartan at the same time. There’s no TV and little in the way of other home comforts but that’s missing the point entirely. A quiet retreat in the middle of a city is a clever thing indeed.”
“We had such an amazing stay here . It was so peaceful and relaxing. Waking up with fields and Highland cows surrounding us was so beautiful . You can't feed or pet the cows but that's perfectly ok they are genuinley so close to the lodge that you can have a wonderful interaction with them . You have the road in the front but it's really not bothering because the lodges are at the back and there isn't a huge traffic either. The views were gorgeous . The lodge was very clean and has everything you need . There were some welcoming gifts which was so lovely . Jazelle is an amazing , friendly ,caring , helpful , reliable host . She would always help us when we needed something . It's around 30min driving to Edinburgh but it was ideal . You can have the buzyness of the city but afterwards you can go back to the peace of the countryside . We already said that when we're going back to Edinburgh we will go back there . Totally worth it .”
“This is the second year I have used Edinburgh Festival Rentals for help with a property I rent out for the month of August. Louise, the Director, has been great to work with and her team is very friendly and knowledgeable. They always handle my requests in a timely manner and very kind when speaking on the phone. Highly recommend this company if you have a property available for short term rentals, not just during the festival but all year round as well.”
“Great company to deal with. We stayed at Driftwood cottage in East Linton for a week in August with our 16th month old daughter, my Mum, husband and 2 dogs. There was more than enough space for all of us to spread out and relax. The cottage has been beautifully renovated, and equipped with everything you need for a very relaxing holiday. The village is a perfect size, Crown and Kitchen is a great pub which does good food and is very welcoming. Amenities of the village are excellent for the size of it...... including a good butchers, Co-op, newsagents, post office, deli, another good pub, park and children's playground. Coast properties were very helpful and efficient. Would definitely book through them again and return to Driftwood.”
“This has become our ideal place to stay when visiting Edinburgh. We booked in Aug 2020 and again in Dec 2021. It is the perfect size for our family of three and in a great location for sightseeing, only a few minutes walk from the Castle! It has the most charming interior (and even better since a refurbishment during Spring/Summer 2021). The owners, Brian and Christine keep it in excellent order, it's very clean and well equipped and they are quick to respond to any questions. They even leave you a bowl of chocolate bars on arrival (greatly appreciated by my young son). We will certainly be booking again in the future.”
“I’m only giving 5 stars to the great guy that use to work there who sadly died few months back, but the woman who works there is not very nice, she shouts and says rude things without even knowing the truth. She accused my husband of stealing money that my mum had sent him, we never got it because it was sent to the wrong address by mistake and she said that my husband had the money and was not telling me the truth that he had it (which he never did) she also said that my husband can speak English and that he’s pretending that he can’t understand it (when he really can’t understand English properly) and that he’s a liar and a thief. After some time later we found out that the money that was sent to the wrong address or country ended up going back to my mums bank account after all. After that I’ve never been back to her since and never will!”
“Wow! We decided to cancel our hotel booking and stay at the Ocean Serviced Apartments instead and that was one hundred percent the best decision we made. We originally booked for 6 nights but a few days before we checked in we decided we needed an extra night which was so easy to do. Just before we arrived we found out that they had upgraded us to the executive suite which is on the 7th floor. The views were just amazing and the apartment itself felt very luxurious. From start to finish all the staff were professional, efficient and very friendly. All the instructions were sent via email and explained everything that was required, at no point did we need to question anything. C25 had 2 bedrooms which we had converted into 2 double beds with ensuite bathrooms, one had a shower and the other had a bath with a overhead shower. There was also a separate room with a toilet and wash basin. A closet for the washing room and another for the boiler. The living room was very spacious and had the kitchen at the back and dining area to the front right. There was a balcony with a table and chairs as well. We literally could not of asked for anything better. You could see Edinburgh castle, Arthurs seat and the Royal Yacht Britannia. The bed linen and towels were all fresh and clean and everywhere was just right. You can hear the lift and the floorboards are a bit creaky but it did not bother us at all. There is a cafe and bus stop across the road and an Asda just round the corner. You are about 5 minutes from the harbour which is beautiful to have a walk along. The car park was very secure with ample parking including disabled spaces. If we come back to Edinburgh we would definitely be staying here again.”
“This place was truely magical. I will definetly come back.If you love aesthetics with books and indoor plants ,you are in for a treat.Very cozy and the detailing of every thing inside is beautiful ,who ever put this place together has lovely taste in collecting things.Thorougly enjoyed the stay.”
“Really enjoyed my experience in working with Neill and the team at Cox&Co. I’d initially reached out in 2019 to explore my interest in owning property in Scotland as an American. They were always present throughout the various turns the path took to finally achieving my dreams. I was really impressed on their knowledge, presence, thoroughness and overall pleasantness. I recommend Cox&Co regularly to anyone looking to purchase or rent - they’re great at it all!”
“My girlfriend and I stayed at the Bala House for four nights back in mid-July meaning I am leaving this review quite late. But I am nothing more than effusive about our stay here! First, the negative (if you can call it that) it is a bit of a walk from the city center. I know that locals would likely just rely on public transportation rather than walk to and from the city center, but, given our nationality, I suppose we are just used to walking long distances since we don't have robust public transportation. Regardless, the walk to downtown is essentially a straight shot, with lots of little shops and spots to eat along the way. It's also just a short walk from Holyrood Park, meaning it's in a perfect location if you are into hiking. The surrounding neighborhood is cute and quiet. The entrance to the Bala House itself feels very safe. The room was stayed in was so spacious, and the bathroom, though somewhat small, had a shower therein with great pressure. The hosts were so kind though we did not see much of them at all during our stay--which isn't to say that someone did not stop by to clean our room a bit while we were away. The bed was large and comfortable. We loved the house! So, would we stay here again? Totally, 100%. I would probably learn a little bit more about the buses though....”
“Because we were so busy touring Edinburgh and the surrounding area, we mainly used the apartment to sleep and shower. However, it was well supplied if someone wanted to cook meals and spend more time there. The location was fantastic and communication with Aileen was thorough and easy. Highly recommend!”
“A fabulous cottage in a stunning location. Isle of Lewis was a wonderful place. Great views and so peaceful.”
“Lovely, well appointed apartment, short walk to centre of town, restaurants and harbour. Bass Rock well worth a boat trip. Also close to the railway station with regular fast link to Edinburgh city centre. Had a wonderful time in mid-May (weather was great - makes a big difference). Val & Brian, West Midlands.”
“Been using A&S Properties Perth for over 10 years now to manage our portfolio of properties, Perth office have always been supportive in all aspects of management. Helped us to find long term tenants who have respect and looked after all our properties. Couldn't recommend them enough. Keep up the great work A&S Perth”
“Booked for late December and had exactly the experience I hoped for. The interior design is dramatic and atmospheric without feeling gimmicky. The menu is strong, and the food delivered - the loin of Balmoral Estate red deer was excellent. Wine was great, dessert was rich but balanced, and coffee finished it perfectly. Pricey, yes, but the full experience totally justified it.”
“Have booked 2 holidays with Barrhead Travel (Gyle). Staff are very friendly and helpful. Much more relaxed way to organise holidays”
“Wow the pictures of our cabin (the wheelhouse) didnt do the place justice, absolutely amazing, even saw a wild otter grab a fish from the river and swin on down all from the comfort of the back porch A1 would give 6 stars if I could”
“We stayed here whilst visiting the Edinburgh Xmas markets. We booked a triple room; comprised of a single bed and a double, it was very spacious and clean. It even had a sofa but there was still plenty of space for us, our luggage and the extra shopping we did. The beds were comfortable & the room had a tv, tea & coffee making facilities & an en-suite. Breakfast was a self-serve continental breakfast; with plenty of options & a nice relaxed way to start the day. The guesthouse is a very short walk from priestfield rd which is well-serviced by buses into the city (we never had to wait more than 10 mins), but the guesthouse is close enough so that taxis aren’t unreasonable (about £9-10). If coming by train with luggage, I’d probably recommend getting a taxi as the buses can be very busy at the weekend. Duncan was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Helped us with our bags at both the start and end of our stay & was always friendly when we saw him during our stay. Would stay again.”
“Limited parking, but perfect place to get bus service”
“Breakfast here is top notch. This is not your cheap and cheerful Wetherspoons breakfast (and they aren't bad either!). Great choice of breakfast options and good coffee to go with it. Scottish Breakfast was top notch.”
“The host is just lovely and gracious. The room and bathroom are very small but they certainly don’t hide that fact on their website. As a solo traveler, it was perfect. Warm, cosy and quiet. Buses 100m from the front door enabled easy transport. I walked pretty much every day to the Royal Mile and Princess St. 15 minutes and pleasant walk. Great location, great people and really comfortable rooms. Stairs will be a problem if you have lower body issues.”
“Clean, friendly and good choice at breakfast, even a freshly cooked full English if wanted. On a main bus root with buses every few minuets to get into town centre. Very Impressed with management, I had a character picture done with my daughter which fell down and I forgot to pack it and they sent it back down to me. Was not an expensive item but something personal to us.”
