Upon arriving a few hours early, David kindly assisted us by storing our luggage and went the extra mile by recommending places to visit in the city, which was extremely helpful. Later, Claudio checked us in efficiently and continued to stand out with his excellent service throughout our stay. At checkout, it was a pleasure to be assisted by both David and Claudio once again. This hotel is truly a must-visit — the team genuinely cares about their guests, and the combination of outstanding service and prime location makes it an excellent choice.”

“Brilliant experience staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms are really clean and tidy and modern. A few essentials are missing such has a kettle and hairdryer but that is a nitpick. The access to a gym is really handy as well if you want to start your day with a workout. The location is really good just a few minutes away From Princess Street.”

“This Residence Inn will forever be in our memory as a place run by dedicated and honest people. Maria runs this place with great leadership. One incident really stood out: We lost a pink water bottle of sentimental value (strongly suspecting it was in the hotel) and didn’t realize it until we were out of town. We contacted the hotel and explained to Maria the situation. She promptly looked into it, contacting the housekeeper immediately and got back to us right away. The housekeeper confirmed that she found it. We asked if the bottle could be shipped to us, and Maria was so helpful giving us all the information we needed to arrange for a shipping company to pick it up from the hotel, etc. We got it in the same great condition it was at when it was lost and couldn’t be happier. Maria’s can-do energy is so refreshing and much appreciated. Maria, thank you for welcoming us when we arrived, for taking the time to explain the hotel details, and for taking immediate action to solve the problem we presented to you after we left. Also, please thank the housekeeper for her conscientiousness, for her honesty, and for her politeness to us when we interacted with her during our stay. “My lovely and I went in for dinner and the chef claimed they are famous for the angus lasagna so there we went. Oh my. I believe the chef has created a new religion based on the dish. Spectacular! The service was marvelous and elegant for a small place - big stature. Our first Scottish restaurant meal was sooo memorable.”

“What a great, tasty sandwhich. Here I was expecting it to be just another chicken thigh, deep fried and slapped in between breads, boy was I soo wrong. The chicken thigh is fried perfectly with none of the mushiness that dark meat usually taste. The chicken is marinated with Indian(?) sauce which is a first for me, and honestly, it's amazing!! Another shout out is the foccacia they uses, it's huge but not so dense and hard as to make you feel overtly full afterwards. The only thing I wish is that they added mustard seed sauce to add some tanginess into the fried chicken but I am just too finicky.”

“Small but mighty menu. Ordered the chicken sandwich and the noodles (pork with chili sauce). The sandwich came with a kimchi slaw, and the noodles had a fresh and savory sauce...I think both dishes should be enjoyed together. The space is also small. Went as soon as it opened, and service was rapid. Saw that they seat you family style with strangers if you are a smaller group of one or two, but I don't believe they take reservations.”

“Came back to this busy restaurant during the Fringe and we were welcomed warmly and found a table for the three of us. Excellent, attentive service. Started out with olives and garlic bread and then on to some wonderful mains. On the pricey side, but this is central Edinburgh and the dishes were overflowing with value. I really enjoyed the Chicken Milanese. We were not rushed out and found time for coffee. Warmly recommend this restaurant. We will be back.”

“When visiting the John Knox Home Museum, the woman helping us suggested this place. It's a rainy Wednesday early evening and although it was busy in this small restaurant, we were seated within 10 minutes without a reservation. We were intrigued by the story, but impressed with the food for its creativity, freshness, and robust flavors. We started with the Pulled Beef Rib Croquettes and Aspargus & Feta Salad with peas & mint. Both starters were fantastic and bursting with flavor. For dinner we chose a Pulled Mushroom Chilli with black beans, parsley Bismanti Rice, and guacamole and a small salad. Also we shared Salmon Fishcakes & Vintage Cheddar with a side salad with lots of delicious veggies and three times cooked fries. For desert we shared a Blackberry Elderberry Eton Mess. It was not too sweet, but full of flavor with meringue slivers for a crunch.”

“A thoroughly enjoyable course with wide forgiving fairways but the subtle sloping greens are what makes this course a challenge. The course was in excellent condition in August and the greens ran true. Beautiful views over the Firth of Forth to Cramond Island and beyond. Excellent value. Also enjoyed the café after the round. Excellent choice of hot and cold sandwiches and drinks with great views over the course and the Firth of Forth.”

Great selection of drinks, including local ales Fast friendly service from the staff and the food is pretty decent for a spoons and also if your on a bit of a budget”

“My wife and kids were here today for a lunch my wife and I both enjoyed the Xmas menu just wow food was amazing with very fair portions and very extremely tasty high quality food I'm a big lad I'd suggest maybe 2 or 3 pigs in blankets and 2 Yorkie pudding but that's just me and have a good appetite but as I did say very fair portion for the price our servers Willie and didnt get the lady's name blonde hair very polite we couldn't have asked for better staff today keep it up folks it's not our first time here and certainly won't be our last have a great Xmas and happy new year”

They have a separate vegan menu which is awesome to see, along with a vegan drinks menu (Biscoff Hot chocolate and other amazing sounding drinks we didn't have the stomach space to try). They were down to 2 works today and they still served super fast with their service being bang on point, thank you for a tasty breakfast!”
