“We book this room at the basement for 2 nights in May 2025, pet friendly, the place is beautiful, full of antiques and I love the piano so much! You’ll found Elizabeth is very nice and friendly after you know her more, she bring us visit the house and show us the rooms, tells us stories about this 5x years old house, the high ceiling is so beautiful and fantastic. Unfortunately the car park is a bit tight and narrow, when we first arrived, it took me over ten turns of the steering wheel — with Elizabeth’s guidance — to finally squeeze into the parking space, what you need is some patience.”
“We were looking for a hotel/B& B in the west end as we were attending a concert at the Hydro and we found found this little gem. The service we received was 2nd to none with all the staff we encountered friendly and helpful. The décor in the place is very interesting with a dark but warm feel. The place is full of interesting objects that fit in really well with the style of the building. The room we had was spacious with great view out over Glasgow. The breakfast was continental style with plenty on offer from pastries, fresh fruits salads, cold meats and cheese amongst countless other things. The coffee was good too. All in I would really recommend the Alfred as a quirky, friendly place to stay.”
“Professional 2 man team. Delivered two heavy furniture items. They completed the job effortlessly, taking the items up two flights of narrow stairs. Notified me a couple of days before by text of delivery window, called again 30mins prior to arrival. Great customer experience! Thank you.”
“Love this place I stay regularly always nice apartments, love the area, beds are comfy and Lisa is wonderful to deal with x”
“I stayed here for one night. Was able to change my check in time with no difficulty at all. When I arrived I was greeted by a friendly receptionist and given keys to my room... there is someone on the front desk 24 hrs a day, this was very good for me especially as I needed to check out at 4am. Checking out was very simple, I just had to give keys back to desk. The room was very clean and had all the necessities, at the price of the rooms I was extremely happy with my stay and will be staying here again in the future!!”
“Just back from a mothers day meal at fullarton park. The meal was absolutely first class, beautifully presented and delicious. I had the chicken sizzler and white chocolate cheesecake and my son had red Thai curry and a chocolate brownie. Would recommend any of these dishes. The girls who looked after all of us were excellent. Lovely girls lovely food can't wait to go back”
“I very much enjoyed staying here. ☺️ Staff is kind and very helpful. The building has it old charm. There are 3 subways stations about 16-20 min walk. Kelvinhall is the best one as it is just a walk down the road and avoids the park at night. Bus stops just out front of hotel. There is loads of places to eat and there are grocery stores near by. The beds are a little uncomfortable. Besides the bed, I would stay here again”
“Fantastic company for short breaks in the UK, they have amazing deals and the staff are so friendly and helpful!”
“This hotel was a welcome departure from chain hotels. We had a lot of space for the four of us, and our kids loved having enough space to run around. We loved the separate living room and kitchen, and the bedrooms were spacious and beautifully decorated. We appreciated having two bathrooms and access to laundry. If we could have stayed longer, we would have! Literally the only thing I could fault this place for would be that they didn't provide shampoo, but our stay was so great that it didn't bother us a bit.”
“I am convinced to recommend staying here and there are several reasons; 1. Price is extremely reasonable. 2. They serve quite economic breakfast; there are two options: Scottish and continental breakfast. 3. Room and shared toilets and bathrooms/shower rooms are clean and well-managed and the numbers of shared shower rooms are enough. 4. Accessibility to Glasgow city centre is convenient; I could use the subway for reaching the centre. 5. The owner and staff are pretty accommodating and this is very Scottish. 5. You definitely will realise that you more love Scotland than England while staying here. Not crowded people are here, and the ambience was very tranquil unlike London and other England cities. I nowdays hate England, so I recommend to visit this hotel and hopefully relish Scotland traveling.”
“Very polite staff. We rented a room at Hampton Court after Point A Hotel decided to cancell our reservation made 3 months ago right in the last second without any explanation. We didn't know some of the rooms were with shared bathrooms which was a bit shocking but the staff was very helpful and we paid a but more for another room with its own bathroom. I was nicely surprised by the breakfast. Plenty of choice- Scottish breakfast, cereals, toasts, muffins, fresh fruits, you name it. Very pleased with our stay here.”
“As my family and friends were attending an event running till late, I booked this Hotel and my wife upon arrival herself while waiting for the rest of the family seated at reception was welcomed by Mohammed, he offered my wife coffee or tea to drink whilst waiting, both rooms were very tidy and modern, they enjoyed their breakfast this morning. Looking at the photos of the rooms they sent me, it was worth the money for an overnight stay for four.”
“My favourite carryout in Kilmarnock. Good portions, well flavoured and a good solid selection of dishes. Never had a bad experience. It can be busy, but treat that as the good sign it really is.”
“Great establishment. This hostel really embodies and gives the “backpacker” experience to a trip. With a large assortment of colorfull individuals giving life to the place, you’l always find at least one persone to chat with in the lounge. Otherwise activities are often organised. If I would have to use one word to describe the Clyde hostel, I would say this: Splendid.”
