βIn spite of the unimaginable pressures the GP practice must be under I feel they have adapted well to the pandemic. I've still received prompt and excellent care - I filled in the online form and had a face to face appointment soon after. The Dr took my symptoms and concerns seriously and I felt listened too. Some of the negative comments below are unfair and clearly written by people with personality issues who don't understand why the NHS has had to adjust to extremely challenging circumstances.β
βRemoved my previous review so I can make a new one with up to date information. Previously was 5 stars anyways as they're always brilliant with my sons and husband, however a huge thank you to Dr.Duffin for being so on the ball with getting me seen and getting me into the hospital. I spent weeks and weeks in pain and Dr.Duffin made sure to keep checking in, organising follow up appointments etc. I was meant to take part in a survey for him but sadly timed out before I had a chance to do it and felt bad so thought I'd leave it here that if more doctors were as fast thinking and thorough like Dr.Duffin there'd never be a complaint about the health services. The rest of the GPS are brilliant here too and the nurse who does bloods magic! Gets mine done before I have time to react. Receptionists are brilliant too with answering calls quicker, updating patients etc. Charleston surgery is the best!β
βExcellent service, called today and got thru at 0847 and offered same day appointment at 0910! Once they on phones always helpful and get what is needed, would recommend!β
βOnly been with this surgery for 3 weeks & they are amazing. The reception staff are polite and kind and genuinely care for the patients as the doctors , best doctors.β
βI was referred to this health center today after calling the hotline to receive urgent dental care. The pain and swelling had been keeping me from sleeping and eating. And this visit was wonderful. Everyone β from the lady at the reception to the team in the dental surgery room β was incredibly kind, attentive, and ready to solve the problem right away. I felt so comfortable, as if we had known each other for a long time. Everything went painlessly, quickly, and calmly. Many thanks to the dental department, the lady at the reception, and the two doctors from operating room number 1. Iβm sorry, I have a poor memory for names, but you were amazing.β
βHonestly had the best experience with this surgery. I was so nervous moving to a north lanarkshire surgery especially in cumbernauld where i have heard a lot of horror stories. I had just had my first baby and registered here. They have been super quick with appointments for me and my son. The doctor has called me out of hours to reassure me my results were normal. Seen my baby anytime ive had concerns. The reception staff have also been majorly kind and taken an interest in my son amd always been reassuring and went above and beyond to insure i have got off he phone with an appointment that suits my needs. Ive also attended a breast feeding class in here which as lovely The nurses ive met have also even really nice too.β
βHi I suffer from Bi Polar disorder which was diagnosed 22 years ago. I am on a number of medications which really help me to manage my connection. I am so grateful to the centre of the work that they do and I have a excellent team who I work with to keep me out of Hospital. I worked for many years in the banking and mortgage industry, 5 years ago I had to stop working. This broke my heart as I felt useless and that I had no value. I worked all my life. In Ireland I had a summer job in McDonald's. When I left school in 1981 I worked in the Restaurant in BHS which was beside the GPO. I then got involved in Advertising and Marketing and then a Public relations company before leaving to work in the UK.β
βHave to agree difficult to get an appointment at times, but despite this for the 16 years I have been with them. I have had an outstanding service. The nurses and GP's are excellent, very caring and provide a good service.β
βThis is a lovely surgery. I always felt well looked after especially during my pregnancy and after having my little boy. The staff in the reception are just so lovely and kind, they always do their best to accommodate an appointment. When it comes to my little boy think the ladies go above and beyond to help us. 5 stars. Dominika O.β
βGreat and hard working team; seems to me theyβre doing everything they can. Iβve always been met with a polite, professional and friendly service on front desk; any doctors or staff Iβve needed have been incredibly helpful and I felt prioritised within the time allocated to me. I think some people need to understand how busy these teams are and usually dealing with people with illness..people when theyβre ill donβt often come across as the friendliest and usually feel a bit low versus normal..show patience and politeness and youβll get it returned in spades.β
βI'd like to highly praise the nurse Kirsty for her kindness and going out her way to help me get my implant fitted after the shambles from my own surgery Quarryside medical practice. If only kirsty could move over here. Thanks again!β
βA great Medical Centre the ladies on reception are amazing so helpful and always happy to help on phone great centre.β
βHave been with this practice for over 40 years and never had an issue with them. Yes, you need to queue up outside at 8.30 to get an appointment, but that is down to growing population, which has doubled in that time and a lack of GPs generally. Moodiesburn alone has a population of over 7K and there are 6-10 doctors, 3 dispensing practitioners and 3 nurses. Factor in other communities to see the pressure... People are living longer, so need more medical care. There's only so much they can do and my family and I have always been well looked after by themβ
βStaff are aleays great, helpful and friendly. Never an issue getting repeat prescriptions. Do a fantastic job considering the amount of demand for the service.β
βI moved to Paisley a year ago & this surgery was the closest to my house. When I read the reviews I was very sceptical & dreaded having to deal with them. Knowing that all aspects of the NHS is in crisis since Covid, I actually found myself to be pleasantly surprised & I have to say, that in my experience, the receptionists have been nothing but pleasant & helpful for which I am extremely grateful. The help & support I have received is very much appreciated. I have also been lucky enough to get an appointment when required but will agree that the phone lines are extremely busy. Having said that, I work in Glasgow & our work lines never stop so can totally understand. I canβt comment on all of the Doctors as I have only seen Dr Mahmood & yes, he has a quiet demeanour but he is a fantastic GP & diagnosed a potentially life threatening illness & for that I will always be grateful. I would definitely recommend this surgery.β
βI took ill with a water infection when staying at my daughterβs home. She had been rushed into A and E the previous evening and I was looking after her 1 year and 3 year old. The receptionist was very helpful, as I live in England I needed to get a temporary residence form. About two hours later, a lovely doctor phoned and told me that he had written out a prescription for antibiotics and I could pick it up immediately . Got to chemist and got antibiotics and hopefully will start feeling better soon. I canβt fault the service this practice gave a non resident patient. Thank you.β
βCannot fault this GP practiceβ¦.Anytime I have needed an appointment or prescriptionβ¦the staff are so helpful and will accommodate if they are able to. The abuse they put up with is shocking! I witnessed an elderly lady talking to the receptionist earlier today like a piece of dirt on her shoe! The receptionist was professional at all times and kept her cool under pressure from the irate patient.β
βI have recently required assessments / house calls and ongoing care from GP practice for my 90 year old mother . GP care has been both attentive and proactive . I am grateful for the way they have sensitively cared for her and treated her with a holistic approach . In past few months I have required assistance with frequent medication changes . I have found all receptionists helpful and thorough and go out of their way to communicate with me to keep me informed . Thank you . Fiona Jonesβ
βI am not sure why this practice has such a low score, I've never had any problem, Dr Brown and Dr Shand are the most amazing doctors I've met! So passionate about helping people. Only had one problem with other doctor who didn't want to send me for mri after quite an accident, due to high BMI (which has nothing to do with my leg, and the mri report shows big issues) but thanks to my lovely physiotherapist I've got it done in no time. But this situation doesn't change my mind about my care I am receiving from others. And my loviest nurse Lee-Ann is best β€οΈβ
