“As part of a guided tour, we were brought to this location. The weather was rainy, with dark clouds overhead and mild temperatures, which lent a certain atmosphere to the experience. However, the fountain itself was not operational at the time of our visit. The fountain, crafted from terracotta, features numerous intricate and impressive details that reflect the high level of craftsmanship involved in its creation. According to the nearby signage, it is regarded as one of the finest examples of terracotta fountain design in the world.”

“A great wee hotel by the park in the West End of Glasgow, in easy reach of venues and restaurants. Was welcomed warmly on arrival, and the room was of a higher standard than I expected for the price. I opted for the full breakfast which was well worth it, and overall found the Acorn Hotel comfortable, clean, and very good value for this part of town. Will stay again when visiting.”

“Lovely place to go for a walk. Nice car park with plenty of spaces. Good signage of the different pathways you can take including horse trail and nature trail. Has toilet facilities and a big play park for kids. There were a good few benches dotted about on the pathway I chose to venture on which was nice to sit and enjoy the flowing water beside the pathway.”

“MBH hosted our exhibition for 3 months last winter, and we thoroughly recommend it as an exhibition and event venue. Elegant, clean, and full of heritage. Thanks to the possibility to exhibit in the corridor as well as the exhibition room, our artworks were seen by everyone who entered the building. The large hall and the garden room are suitable for different kinds of events, too. We particularly appreciated Aurora's attention to detail and her understanding of accessibility needs, and everyone's (workers and volunteers) hospitality and can-do attitude. Ideal hosts.”

“Lovely place to visit for the whole family. Very much enjoyed a walk along the pond and river, seen deers and a nice castle, also enjoyed playground and all for free. Definitely worth coming back once in the area again.”

“So this place is new to me. What a fabulous use of space and great homage to what it was before. This place is wheel chair accessible. Has plenty toilets. Has disabled toilets. Has a cafe with ok ish coffee. Vibrant open space with good use of eye catching colour. The chimney in the hidden garden is just a glorious view of industry gone but not forgotten. “Attended the Glasgow warriors v DHL Stormers game on Friday 30th May 2025. Easy to get to, free bus pass included with your ticket (need to take the code provided and buy it via the first bus app), or drive and park nearby, there are plenty of spaces but watch out for resident permit parking zones on the streets closest to the stadium. Stadium is easy to access fully once inside as you can walk round the whole pitch to access services and eateries as well as all stands. Plenty of stewards and staff on hand.”

“We stayed one night here before traveling north. It is in a very quiet area and easy to find. Parking was right on grounds. Staff very helpful and offered to make a reservation for our meal that evening. The rooms were clean and well proportioned. They had the pull out made up already for our daughter which was very accommodating. Breakfast was enjoyable and very delicious. Serving staff attentive. Would stay again.”

“Wonderful experience. Nice staff, welcoming as well, the café was a nice moment while we waited for the tour. It deserved a visit to have knowledge of Alexander Thomson and all his buildings around Glasgow. Just I personally don't think it is a good choice to create a rivalry with Mackintosh during the video. It's a totally different era, Thomson is one of the expressions of the New Classical style in 1850. Mackintosh started the 1900 with a real new style. Glasgow and his rich history deserve a common commitment.”

“What a gorgeous public park! It has a magical feel to it with the different layers of the park, woodland walk and there’s even a swing park for kids! Cannot recommend enough for people to take a trip here and enjoy the beauty of this beautiful place.”

“A lovely, dog friendly restaurant with a varied menu to suit many tastes. The house wine was lovely as were the meals. We dined very early, so it was fairly quiet and we were lucky to get so much attention from the staff .... especially our dog who was made a real fuss of. The food was well cooked and just what we expected with good portions. My wife's vegetarian meal looked wonderful and she said it tasted really good. We would certainly go there again.”

“I recently stayed for two nights while traveling for work, and I was truly impressed. Wayne and Heather made me feel incredibly welcome from the moment I arrived. They went above and beyond, even offering to pick me up from the bus stop as I was traveling by public transport during a storm! My room was spotless, comfortable, and equipped with a TV. There was also a shared lounge available for extra space, which was a nice bonus. The breakfast was customized to my preferences and absolutely delicious. To top it off, the views from the property were stunning! Thank you for making my stay so memorable.”

The house itself is so cosy, modern and clean and the sauna and the pool/snooker table were a huge hit with us. There are walkways very close to the church if you prefer being outdoors and the local town of Forth provides all you need. We will definitely be returning.”
