“Hyndland Street Vets saved the day for our boy Lazare! After 4 years in Glasgow we were moving back to the US and Lazare was denied boarding on his flight from Frankfurt to St Louis because his travel documents went missing somewhere en route during his Edinburgh to Frankfurt flight. (Lufthansa!) On a very busy Friday before May Bank Holiday weekend — HSVS produced an original official heath certificate WITHIN HOURS so we could get him on the next flight. He’s with us a safe and sound now so I want to extend my sincere gratitude to HSVS for going above and beyond to help us. You all are THE BEST! Thank you!”

“Whilst I would prefer the surgery opening 6 days a week, I understand that there may be staffing issues. Plus, you can always go to the state of the art hospital at The Roundhouse if necessary. Location wise, not far. I believe all major surgery is performed at the hospital. Parking at both is easy.”

“Been using this practice for years and have always had good service, though our dog's (and previously cats) have generally been quite healthy so we haven't had much experience of anything very complicated. However our luck ran out recently and one dog developed a serious issue which was dealt with sympathetically and very professionally by both vets involved. Thanks to them he appears to be making a full recovery, for which we are very grateful.”

“It was easy to find with lots of parking and plenty of green spaces to walk the dog before going in. The reception staff were very kind and helpful and the waiting area is bright airy and very spacious, there are wee individual pods to sit in so nervous/excitable pets have space. I think cats had their own room. The vet/Dr we saw was very kind and thorough and we were kept informed of our dogs progress throughout. Nobody wants to visit the hospital with their pet but if we had to go again it would be reassuring to know it was the UoGSAH we were returning to.”

“Very kind and patient, and actually listens to accomodation requests! We've had issues that have lead to us paying double in the past at other clinics, when they refuse to consider that the physical stress our cat experiences when left at the vet/around other cats might actually be problem, and not just us being overdramatic, but we had no such issues here. They were more than happy to try to make the lead-up to, and recovery after procedures as stress-free for her as possible, which is super appreciated. We were also informed of the healthy pet club, which greatly reduces the price of procedures, vaccine boosters, tests, etc. when paying a set monthly fee. As one of us has a zero-hour minimum wage job, learning about this, and joining, has really helped ease the monetary strain of our cat's age-related issues :) Attaching a couple photos of said cat recovering from anaesthesia, you can really see the singular brain cell bouncing about in her skull in these!”

“I would recommend, the staff have been really supportive and lovely during every single visit. I was very emotional during some of these visits and Doranne Ashley was very compassionate, she didn’t rush me and made me feel very comfortable. I saw some reviews stating this vet are money orientated, I would categorically disagree with that, this has not been my experience at all.”

“My dog was seriously ill when he was admitted. My vet phoned ahead to let them know I was on my way and he was taken to intensive care as soon as I arrived. I had constant updates and was allowed to visit daily during his 4 night stay. I couldn’t make it to visit 1 night and they emailed me pictures of him for peace of mind. Everything was explained to me all the way through the process and upon discharge the aftercare instructions were very clear. The staff undoubtedly saved my wee man’s life and I am eternally grateful!”
