“Friendly Family run pub, serving a variety of quality drinks at relatively inexpensive prices. A proper locals local, and short distance walk from 3 other pubs in Wednesday Market (2) and Toll Gavel (1), before the main Market Square”
“Been for lunch this week. As good as ever, if not even a bit better. Lovely nicely cooked food and a great atmopsphere. Even made the dog very welcome.”
“We stopped here for lunch and we thought the food, the price and the service was spot on. Delicious hot sandwiches with a tasty side. All of the light bites are meant to be half size, but the portions are very generous and suited my 12 year old perfectly. Staff were friendly and genuine. Much appreciated and would happily recommend this for a casual lunch spot.”
“Had a lovey meal with my husband. Staff friendly and very helpful. Full marks to the chef for a well presented tasty meal and not expensive. Thank you to everyone at The New Inn Leven for making us feel welcome.”
“Excellent local pub, real fire, great choice of beers”
“Eaten here now on a few occasions. The food here is excellent. The steak pie is to die for and had the fish yesterday. Best piece of fish I have had in ages. Not greasey one bit. Hate fish when all wet and sloppy. Not here it was cooked perfect. Def be back again.”
“Great pub restaurant with something for everyone! The menu is really big with plenty of choice, and everything we’ve tried has been delicious. The staff are always attentive and friendly, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. We especially love coming here on Sundays to enjoy a good meal while watching the F1 – the atmosphere is brilliant. Highly recommend!”
“I used to visit in the pub in the 1970s as a student before the old ladies passed. Still gas lights and much of the atmosphere.”
“Great central town bar .Fab selection of Real ales & craft beers . Fine Whisky selection & other Spirits. Great food menu .Ideal for breakfast lunch or evening meals. Great atmosphere and lively at weekends and during the week with events on.”
“Late booking for a birthday treat. Happy to be accommodated. Menu suited all of us. Easy to order via app on table or at the bar. Food arrived in a reasonable time.”
“Good food, great atmosphere overall very pleased. Staff lovely too!”
“Arrived late on a Sunday afternoon looking for a cosy Sunday dinner, we were not disappointed. The fish and chips with homemade tartar sauce were delicious and the sea bass was also cooked very well and wonderfully presented The outstanding feature was the service, particularly from Jane who was warm, welcoming and very funny. A lovely experience, we will be back ☺️”
“Amazing food, drink and atmosphere. It was great to sit at the bar and watch what the head chef could produce from such a small space! Everything that came out looked amazing and our charcuterie and cheese board (there were hot meals on the menu, but we didn’t have time) was unbelievable and everything was of the highest quality. Can’t wait to go back.”
“We held a birthday party here, and it was fabulous. We were so very well looked after and accommodated. The bar staff were friendly, and worked hard to make sure no one waited long. Huge thanks for a brilliant night in a fabulous pub! Cheers!”
“Nice quiet friendly establishment with a great sing around on some Saturdays (not sure if it's monthly or fortnightly) but it was a really nice atmosphere with some great musicians playing Nice songs. Hosted by a top bloke called Dave Bernasconi. You should definitely check it out if you like live music”
“Great value pub with live bands every Saturday night.”
“Me and a friend did the bottomless brunch here, it was £25pp and you got 90 minutes. The food was incredible! We both ordered the chicken and chorizo pasta, they were able to cater for my dietary needs as a Coeliac and ensure they used a separate workspace and equipment, which was such a bonus and i am very grateful as their menu is not gluten free. The atmosphere inside is good too, the music was up to date and they have pool tables and games if u want to try them out. The service for our bottomless was very fast, So with this and the food you definitely get your moneys worth! (compared to the many overpriced bottomless we both have tried) The cocktails are the main aspect however, you are allowed a range of beers and spirits along with Prosecco and regular drinks for your 90 minutes time. We thank all the staff and the chef who were there that night! We will definitely be back and highly recommend this if your looking for a bottomless brunch! (Book 24hrs in advance and the deposit is £5pp)”

“Fantastic pub now, Kerry and Dave are amazing, the atmosphere is amazing love going to Forresters now. We held my husband's and sons birthday there and Kerry put an amazing spread on for us. Kerry and Dave have certainly brought the Forrester's back up from the black hole, always busy and friendly pub with games and artists. We have now made this our local”

“Absolutely amazing Sunday dinner. They were fully booked. We were just passing on the off chance but they moved tables around and got us in. So pleased they did. Shame we aren't closer as would definitely become a regular visit. Highly recommend”
“we came because whenever we drive past we always think it looks welcoming and we can say we weren't disappointed. the service from entering the building was top notch. Jen was great took our order and told us about the midweek carvery. the food was lovely fresh and hot we will definitely make this a regular place to eat”
“More a pub that serves food than a food and drink venue. We popped in on the off chance at 100 on Sunday, two meats on offer for the Sunday lunch and a range of meals on offer. Yorkshire Pudding, potato and three veg and a boat of gravy. Fish and chips, Chilli, pies etc with vegetarian options on the menu. Service was great and two hand pulled beers on offer, Theakstons and Black Sheep. For a small and and a large Sunday lunch with a pint and half a Diet Coke we were charged £26. Quickly served. Will call again.”
“Jo the owner rules with an iron fist, firm but fair, her stamp on this pub has made it a great place, good opening hours, friendly staff and and a pub that is there for regulars. Love this place and everyone that works here. Massive thanks to Jo, three family wakes at Banks harbour, made easy by a landlady that cares beyond business. Very easy 5 stars, just keep on her good side lol”
“I had a great stay last week. Chaotic travel to Beverley so it was fantastic to get such a welcoming stay. I had lovely beer, massive comfy room, nice conversation and even a couple of rounds of cards. Next morning I was treated to a great full English breakfast. What a find! Certainly recommend staying, and would be a pub I'd enjoy have a few pints at too”
“Came in for dinner and went for the two fish and chips and a bottle of wine deal for £49.95 — such great value. The fish was crispy, the chips were perfect, and the whole meal tasted incredibly fresh. Big shoutout to chefs Jake and Saul for nailing it. Amelia and Jess looked after us with warm, friendly service from start to finish, making the evening feel really relaxed and enjoyable. Great food, lovely team, and a brilliant deal — highly recommend!”
