“There was a welcoming Atmosphere when we arrived. We were welcomed by the staff immediately when doors opened. The pub had a pleasant and warm environment. The food was excellent with generous portions.. We didn’t stay at the accommodation but would have gladly stayed as it is near a number of popular venues. There is a large carpark and free of charge.”

“Food was delicious, chilli con carne had a bit of heat and very filling. Only slight downside was a very rowdy group on a pub crawl, but one of the bar staff apologised and said they would not be staying long. Otherwise, a very cosy pub, great food and atmosphere”

“Been to central 42 many times. Staff are always friendly. My wife is celiac and they have lots of gluten choices for her. The staff are usually very well informed about cross contamination. Loads of choices of delicious food. Good idea to book if its a Saturday or Sunday. But walked in and got a table lots of times aswell. Definitely recommend a visit”

“Wow just wow, from start to finish.. Came here with my mum for a bite to eat, we got more than a bite to eat. I took my food home with me as I had that much on my plate, absolutely amazing. The young lad behind the bar, really friendly, made us feel soo welcome, very polite, smiley, cheerful, the beer garden is lovely and cosy, I highly recommend this place and we will continue coming with our family as our local now.. Wouldn't go anywhere else!!”

“Regarding a sense of inebriated comfort in a quaint market town such as Beverley... The Monks Walk is something of a zenith. From London Thunder to boozed-up chunder, this is a pub whose walls tell every story. The staff were extraordinarily convivial, pursuing a quest to obtain... for me.... a myriad of historical beer mats. What a lovely touch. With a cup cheer, without nerves or fear, all manner of drinkers, and creative thinkers, can find sanctuary, comfort... and home right here”

“We were 4 adults and a child, cafe was very busy when we arrived but they have a table kept for groups of 4 and we fit there. Can't wait to go back, food was delicious. Staff have no problem adding or changing elements of the menu items such as adding bacon or leaving something out.”

“Landlord was really friendly and accommodating. We were a group of 9 people and he sorted it so we could sit together. He was very attentive checking that the music was not too loud for us and even shutting out the Sun with the pub curtains when it became too sunny. Would definitely return to this pub. “Absolute must eat here! Fantastic food and drink! The food was great and very authentic. The staff spent time with us to talk, recommend foods and even the owner came out to give us wine recommendations, to which we ended up loving and buying the bottle! Such an authentic Italian with a great family atmosphere great for all occasions. We will be back, I cannot wait to try the pizzas next, the pasta dishes we ordered were perfect, cooked to PERFECTION! Cannot wait to be back!”

“Very flavourful halibut plate and good deserts with excellent presentation. A good wine will not cost an arm and a leg, and the service is excellent. Previous review... Frites were floppy, but mussels marvelous. Best onion soup ever. Sure we will rate Cognac a five on our next visit. Service top notch. An authentic French atmosphere.”

“Without doubt you’ll get Michelin starred service in here if you can navigate the steps into this cellar bar. Top class selection of cask ales on and so handy for the Railway Station. Check FB for opening times as they do change. Only food on at the moment - cheese & biscuits.”
