“We went with our 9 year old boy and we all loved it! There were roughly 20 people on the tour in total, with 3 volunteers/guides so plenty of options to ask questions about the different items. There's a huge mix of things, including taxidermy, artwork, historical items and even a cross section of a meteorite! It felt really special being 'behind the scenes' seeing items in racking and boxes, and the group being relatively small meant everyone got to see what was on display easily. Will definitely go back as items change as and when things are loaned out.”

“Amazing historic building, lovely comfy seats, some great films including African and Palestinian films, and excellent staff. I regularly travel from York to attend screenings. (Snacks could be better and please get good decaf coffee but hey I'm picky :-) )”

“Lovely small theatre, plays always well worth seeing cast, always put on good production,so, sometimes hard hitting issues raised,,,, but amazing experience every time you go,, very friendly atmosphere, a must in every community best place ever so see brilliant live theatre, keep up the good work”
“Great place to rehearse or jam, has a decent desk with snacks and drinks for sale, plus toilet facilities. Our particular room had music stands and seats which some places lack, plus wireless mics and a 12 power sockets for amps/equipment. (The neon lights were a nice Cyberpunk-style addition too) The corridors can be a be narrow when you're carrying equipment bags/crossing in the hall though. However, the drum kit required cymbal felts with plastic rod spacers, but the larger concern was how the hihat stand rod was a wider 7-8mm thickness. (Big concern as most hihat clutches are 6mm sized..) They thankfully had one at the reception desk, but something for budding drummers to bear in mind! Likely the 'Stagg 7A-HP' Hihat clutches will fit.”
“An oasis of interesting gifts, original artwork & more. Reasonable prices & vast eclectic selection, well worth a visit when in Slaithwaite”
“Excellent production in this lovely small theatre. Visiting family in the area, and today's matinee was an unexpected treat.”
“Great Indian restaurant - good quality food and helpful staff. Good beer as well. Have been many times and never disappointed - highly recommended.”
“My first time visiting was for the northern ballets children’s performance of the ugly duckling with my 9 month old daughter and her 2 year old cousin. Both absolutely mesmerised throughout the whole performance. A great space and even us adults loved it.”
“Great food and friendly service. Was a little chilly when I went so it would have been good if the heating was up a little bit. The Beef Stroganoff was excellent and the fish and chips are decent. The chips are cut thick with a crispy exterior. A good quality pub… just get the heating up when it’s cold out. ;)”
“Visited the café for lunch while looking around the gallery, and it was so good we returned for breakfast a few days later. Food was absolutely delicious - high quality, flavoursome ingredients and service with a smile.”
