“I came here with my girlfriend and we were blown away by how good the food was! Everything was packed with flavor - the lobster, prawns, mussels, and sides were all cooked perfectly and tasted incredibly fresh. The sauce was rich, buttery, and full of spices - honestly one of the best seafood boils we've ever had! The restaurant itself has a great vibe, really nicely decorated, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. With the drink discount, we paid around £60, which was amazing value for the quality and portion size. If you love seafood, this place is a must-try. We'll definitely be coming back for more!”

“Wonderful large area of nature just outside the city centre. I've spent well over 70 hours here walking and bird watching over the 3 years I've been in Leicester. I often walk in the mornings and everyone I've spoken with, even just briefly, has been very nice and welcoming. There are many different walking routes - accessible ones and some muddier. It takes about an hour to walk from one end to the other and there are maps situated all around. I'd recommend checking out the Facebook group if you'd like to see some of the nice wildlife photos taken there and the website/app eBird if you want a very thorough overview of the birds there. The main problem is during school holidays when it gets a lot noisier and unfortunately a lot of litter gets left behind.”

Smothered Chicken is always a winner in any Table Table or Brewers Fayre. The steaks on our last night were very good. The meat had been trimmed and torched to death the way Samie loves it and a medium Rare for me me.”

“Dined here for the first time a week or so back and was so pleasantly surprised that we booked a table for the family for fathers day. Today was a fantastic experience. We were seated very quickly and served drinks straight away. Sophie and the other ladies made sure we had everything we needed. They were all very friendly and pleasant to deal with. Food, once again was incredible so hats off to the chef. A gem of a place for many reasons. Will definitely return.”

“No faults whatsoever, I honestly loved everything about this restaurant. The service was impeccable, it was our first time tasting Ethiopian food and we didn't know what to expect but the lovely lady working there helped us with the food menu and described the dishes very well. The flavours and presentation of the dishes was delicious and filling. We ordered a coffee ceremony as it looked very interesting on the menu and it did not disappoint. We learnt a lot about Ethiopian culture from it. The coffee beans used were strong in flavour and it was accompanied with popcorn! My 5 year old daughter is hard to please and she wasn't keen on the main that we had ordered (perhaps spices were strong for her but we enjoyed it) so we ordered a scrambled egg and tomato with bread and it came out, such a big portion but it was so good. She loved it! Thank you so much for an amazing meal and experience- we will definitely be coming back again!!”

“This is probably my 25th visit to John's House and an annual pilgrimage I make each summer (as I do not live in the UK). Loved it, as always, a delight to see Pedro and his wine pairings shine brightly, classically, and with personality. Loved the food, with a nice mix of classic JH dishes and some new twists. LOVED the hogget dish, that hit a new high for me. I might have eaten 5-6 breads to mop up the sauces. Charming interaction with Gracie - she's one to watch in hospitality as she just has 'it' and thoroughly enjoyable. Thanks for another great night, see you again 3 weeks! Matt”

“Went for breakfast with a party of 9 before heading to the football. Service was first class and the food superb with a wide and varied menu. We had a wide range of dishes and everything was served fresh and hot. I had the Rump steak and Eggs which was perfectly cooked, just pink and oh so tasty. “Atmospheric and lovely for a cozy night out! Incredibly friendly staff and lovely ambient lighting. Servings were generous and packed with authentic variety of Asian dishes. My particular favourites were the beef hofun. Was packed full of freshness and will definitely be ordering again soon! Also great selection of bubble tea, perfect for sharing, the taro flavour was a perfect blend of sweet and floral. Would frites implore everyone to check this place out.”

“This was our 1st visit to The Chandler Arms and it won’t certainly be the last. The Sunday roast was delicious with a good variety of vegetables and a very tasty Yorkshire pudding. I had the ginger sponge with custard for my dessert, it was amazing. The whole meal was very reasonably priced and was delicious. The service and atmosphere was fantastic, I highly recommend this village pub.”

From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted like an old friend by the friendly staff and the regulars who make the place feel like home. The decoration is simple and unpretentious, which adds to its simple charm. The drinks selection is fantastic, with a great variety of ales, beers, and some lovely cocktails. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. The prices are also incredibly fair for such quality. What really makes The Queens stand out, though, is the people. The staff are incredibly friendly and always up for a chat, especially Abbie, Becks and Les, making you feel right at home from your first visit. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy a quiet pint alone or laugh the night away with friends. They even host little events like quiz nights and darts, which adds to the community vibe. “Good little food hall with a decent variety of options. I do miss the old layout though—it used to feel more like an actual hall. Now it feels like you’re eating in a walkway, which isn’t ideal. If you choose to sit outside the restaurant itself, people are constantly walking past, and the walkway is surprisingly narrow. Still, the food options make it worth a visit.”
