“Cosy, warm atmosphere with good quality beer and excellent food. The Courage bitter was very very good. The idea of having lighter food options is a very good one; the lighter option steak in particular was delicious. The barman was very welcoming and knowledgeable and the breakfast waitress was equally good. The breakfast chef coming out to see how we enjoyed our meal was a nice touch. Our room was good - warm and well appointed.”
“Held my 40th Birthday Party at the old courts last week. Everyone commented on how beautiful the venue was. It has real atmosphere. Michelle the host was super attentive and helped me sort out a bar tab for first drinks and a cocktail for the night. It was all very laid back and easy to deal with them - no drama. I was particularly pleased when they cut the cake into pieces for me - not a job I was looking forward to. The whole team were fab, friendly and helpful. It is so cheap to hire too! I’d definitely recommend.”
“Stopped off for a meal after days bird watching at Martin Mere. Glad we'd booked a table as place was really busy. Nice welcome when we arrived and service was efficient without being obtrusive. Generous portions and the homemade steak pie was delicious. Very reasonable prices too. Will be back.”
“Wow I’m So impressed the food was great but could have had more options on the menu the people are lovely here if you want a quite cheap amazing food and service this is the place to be”
“Great to mooch around to see what weird and wonderful treasures lie inside. The cafe is great, had the small breakfast and they even buttered my toast ! rather than giving you a frozen block of butter, which seems to be the norm these days.”
“Nice place friendly staff and they serve newky brooon”

“If you’re looking for a hidden gem in Wigan, look no further than Hideout. I walked in expecting your average pub experience, but what I got was nothing short of a culinary adventure! First off, the cheese board was fantastic. I’m pretty sure the cheeses were handpicked by angels. Each bite transported me to a whimsical dairy wonderland. I could’ve sworn one of the cheeses winked at me. If you’re lactose intolerant, I suggest you reconsider your life choices and dive headfirst into this cheesy paradise. And then there was the wine. Oh, the wine! I’m not exaggerating when I say it was the best wine I’ve ever had. I could practically hear the grapes singing as they made their way to my glass. It was like drinking liquid happiness. If I could bathe in it, I would—though I’m pretty sure that’s frowned upon in public places. Now, let’s talk about Ste, the barman. This guy deserves an award, preferably one shaped like a bottle of wine. He’s not just pouring drinks; he’s crafting liquid magic. He recommended the perfect wine to go with my cheese board, and I’m convinced he has a sixth sense for what will make your taste buds dance. Overall, Hideout is a must-visit. Just be prepared: the cheese may steal your heart, the wine may take your soul, and Ste might just become your new best friend. Go for the cheese, stay for the magic—just don’t tell anyone I said that!”

“Love love love Chelsea the landlady so down to earth and approachable , I think one of the nicest ladies I’ve had the pleasure to now call my friend . Friendly local community atmosphere where everyone knows each other and keeps an eye out for the older clientele when needed . So lovely to have a local pub that’s sticking with older traditions and comfort x”

“Really enjoyed the food here. They really know their way round a grill here, all the meats were seasoned differently, the lamb and chicken were both cooked perfectly. Everything left me wanting more. The oreo dessert thing is maybe the nicest pudding I’ve had, I would fight my partner for it if I had too, and she’s actually a lovely woman so I wouldn’t usually fight her.”
“Great little place for coffee or having a bite”
“Great place to eat, friendly staff, first time here so definitely go back”
“Chloe was very friendly and welcoming, the spa was warm, cosy with a relaxing vibe. I particularly liked the offer to enjoy the relaxation room after treatment however I would have appreciated knowing this in advance so I could have come prepared/factored that into my timings. The treatment was really nice.”
“I would give more stars if I could! Me and my husband got a cosy table for two on a busy Saturday night. We loved the music and the restaurant smelled amazing. The first thing I noticed is how friendly and attentive the staff were. We ordered the platter for two and the bread which came as a started was out of this world fresh tasting and fluffy. The meat was juicy and seasoned to perfection which left me thinking about eating it every day. I honestly think this place is my new favourite restaurant and will be going back often. We ordered desert, baklava with ice-cream. The portions were perfect and service was quick and effortless. We both had a really positive experience so thank you to all the staff, front and back of house.”
“Food was excellent, waitress made us feel welcom, nice quite place. Started yo get busy after we sat down.”
“Had a fantastic meal at Posthouse in Orrell recently. The ribs were genuinely some of the best I’ve had—perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and falling off the bone. You can tell they take care with the preparation. Pairing them with their freshly made mojitos was spot on—the drinks were balanced, refreshing, and not overloaded with sugar like you find in some places. The atmosphere was relaxed but stylish, and the staff were attentive without being intrusive. Overall, a great spot if you’re after quality food and drinks at reasonable prices. I’ll definitely be back.”
“Service was superb, Bailey was our server and he was extremely helpful and friendly, with his awesomely roarsome top. Nice Christmas theme in the location. Carvery was good, but not quite as good as previous visits, still good though. Puddings were huge and delicious!”
