“We popped to Hoole a few weeks back and had seen this restaurant and said we'd come back and try it. So we did and oh my days it was so delicious. The portion sizes were huge. There is an option to choose half portions which I thought was a lovely idea and great for lunch times if you didn't want a big meal. We will definitely be coming back”

Stavros was incredibly polite and friendly on the phone, and that same warm attitude continued when we arrived — he greeted us with a smile and guided us to our table with genuine hospitality. “Had a great evening. The building is beautiful being situated right on the river, but the internal decor is just fantastic, giving real redneck American vibes. From the moment I arrived all of the staff were great. Really friendly and attentive without being over the top and annoying. I had fajitas which were incredible - genuinely tasty! “Visited near Christmas in an afternoon for lunch. The food was really nice - and a little bit more unusual for what you'd normally expect from a 'tourist attraction' type place! The staff were friendly and helpful with assisting with a gluten intolerance that one of our party has. Would definitely recommend for if you are visiting Chester Zoo!”

“the boba here is fantastic. tastes great, made quickly and cheaper than a lot of other places. iirc it was around £4.50-£5 for a large which is a lot cheaper than other places i’ve been to that’s offered a smaller portion. the shop itself is spotless and offers a wide selection of different food and snacks.”

“Visited Chester for the Christmas markets and popped in for some lunch when it started raining. Beautifully cooked fish and chips and much faster this time even though we could see you were very busy The 2 girls on shift (sarah and meg) were efficient and worked so well together. They kept us topped up with a little table service, all whilst making sure all the other tables were happy. Sarah came and had a little chat with us and we learnt that she was the manager. She spoke highly about her pub and her team. We can see all the little changes that have been implemented over the last few months are working well. We visit a couple of times a month and the pub has always been great. But I was particularly impressed with our entire visit this time. Sarah you are brilliant at what you do and have done for this pub.”

“Great food, lovely staff, great atmosphere. It’s a very convenient place for romantic dates as well. They have been so kind that they offered us drinks on my birthday. We enjoy their duck every time. They also have a very tasty onion soup. This place has much wider space than it looks from outside. Proper for big group meetings including company dinners.”

She was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making sure everything was just right without being intrusive. All in all, it was a fantastic burger paired with excellent service—definitely a meal I’d be happy to come back for.”

“We are a party of eight who spent the evening celebrating our friends 60th birthday. Could not fault anything. The most delicious food, all served freshly prepared and good and hot. We were thoroughly looked after by Cristi and all the staff, never made to wait but not rushed either. It was plain that they really cared about giving us excellent service all evening. “Located on Love st Chester this is a great place to try out locally brewed ales and grab a great quality meal. There are some steps to the front of the building which lead on to a very large open room with plenty of seating with smaller rooms off ,they offer master classes in all types of drinks , friendly staff and very clean”

“A nice Costa location with very friendly staff and well made drinks. Costa has been very greedy with the price increases though and I can't say I recommend them if you want the best coffee. Local coffee shops will likely be the same price but with much higher quality drinks as they use quality ingredients and don't cheap out on ingredients (thanks coca-cola). Please support local businesses who need your custom! The megacorps do not care unless they make profit. Your custom will go a long way for local businesses.”

“Wow, stumbled upon The Market in Chester and there are loads of stalls to choose from. All types of street food being served. Fancied a burger, normally you get a tasteless grease laden bit of meat. Teddy served us, great service, with a smile. Both of our burgers were cooked to perfection, a chicken burger and a xL smokey. The fries were great too. Now let's get back to these burgers, the XL was 2 patties of wonderful tasting beef. Lovely smoked bacon, cheese and pickles. The chicken burger was according to my wife, proper chicken, loads of flavour. Great job guys.”

“We visited this lovely country pub and had an excellent experience from start to finish. The waitress (Beth) looking after us was absolutely fantastic—friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for her, which really made the visit feel special. We tried the fried Brie to start, which was delicious and full of flavour. Others tried the Patè which only had a small improvement we’d suggest which is serving it with a little more bread, but it certainly didn’t take away from how enjoyable it was. Despite our group ordering six roast dinners, all with different meats, the food arrived in good time. The portions were generous, everything was piping hot, and the flavours were spot on. The standout dish for us was the cauliflower cheese—honestly the best we’ve ever had! Desserts were lovely too. The cheesecake tasted great, though the base was slightly harder than we prefer. The brownies, however, were a huge hit and disappeared quickly! The pub itself was very clean and welcoming, and the easy, convenient parking made the visit even smoother. Overall, a fantastic meal with great service. We’ll definitely be returning!”

“Always love Nando’s food, I get the children’s meal for £6 because it’s more than enough food and so cheap. Our food came quick and was hot. I got the new flavour, realised soon enough that it was incredibly spicy but tasted amazing! The waiter forgot to bring my glass over for my drink after bringing over my partner’s but after I showed him my order, he solved the issue and grabbed me a glass. Only issue I had was that there was food on the floor under our table which I stepped in, must have not been noticed when the table was cleaned but that wasn’t a big issue. Would definitely come again!”

“I recently tried the Singapore fried rice at Oceans and I have to say it was absolutely delicious! The rice was cooked to perfection, with each grain separate and fluffy. The seasoning was just right - not too overpowering but full of flavor. The dish was also generously portioned, making it great value for money. “Venue Hire Review: My dad recently passed away and we wanted somewhere private to hold a Celebration of Life with his family and friends. I therefore reached out to a few places to find out what they could offer and enquire about the room and buffet options they had available. The Holiday Inn Chester West replied quite quickly, but most importantly they offered their condolences before going into any kind of sales pitch, which the other companies did not. Harriet sent us a lovely Celebration of Life brochure and said that we were welcome to visit to see the room available, so we arranged to take my mum up a couple of days later. We were extremely impressed with what was on offer for the price and therefore paid the deposit there and then. On the day itself the service provided exceeded our expectations. The room was beautifully decorated and just the right size for our guests. The food was delicious and plentiful and there was a great choice available to suit all tastes. There was a Bluetooth speaker available, so we created a Spotify playlist of some of my dads favourite songs which helped to create a lovely atmosphere and the staff also helped us to set up a photo display that I had created, along with a beautiful memory table. All of the staff were absolutely brilliant and I cannot thank them enough for helping us arrange a lovely Celebration of Life during what was a difficult and emotional time for us all.”

“We stayed at the city hotel for 2 nights for my partners birthday weekend away, before we even arrived Sophie was texting us to see if we needed anything and let us know our room was ready, and wow what a room! We stayed in room 6 which has a free standing bath and all the little Luxuries you could need, from coffee pods, tea, fresh milk to shower gels, shampoo and bath salts. The room is well presented and nicely laid out with a very comfy bed and soft furnishings giving that homely luxury feel. Sophie was always on hand only a text away and willing to answer any questions or queries we had, as well as providing our welcome drinks on arrival and making sure our room had extra towels and toiletries on day 2 of our stay. I would HIGHLY recommend the city hotel Chester for a weekend get away and cannot thank Sophie enough for all the effort she puts into looking after her guests.”
