“It is common knowledge that NHS is on its knees and that an average waiting time for an appointment is couple of weeks. That's why I ended up trying to deal with an insect bite turning nasty at home and kept dismissing family suggestions to get medical attention. Finally on a late afternoon on 28/08/25 I called surgery thinking this was going to be a waste of time. Well, it was amazing experience. Lovely and attentive lady receptionist listened and acted with due care. She directed me to another surgery, booked my appointment, send me location. I was seen by a doctor one hour later, got my prescription, was told where to go to get meds at that late hour. Everyone - reception team at Park Way surgery, reception team at Farley Road surgery, doctor at Farley Road surgery - were amazing. And that's not a word I use often in same sentence as "NHS", sadly. I called next day to thank the reception team. I understand the constraints but I can't help to be impressed by my experience.”

“We all know GP surgeries are super busy and often stretched thin. That’s why I was so blown away by the amazing team at Gilbert House Surgery. I put in a prescription request, something that usually takes up to three working days elsewhere, and they had it sorted in under an hour. All I said was that I was travelling and needed it within the next couple of days. The receptionist was incredible, even towards her the end of her morning shift, she made sure she passes my request in person to the duty doctor. Dr. Dalia Jacob was absolutely brilliant, getting the prescription ready in no time while seeing other patients and sending me a text message to confirm it's ready. They worked together to get it done quickly and even gave me a call to let me know it was ready. Huge thanks to the whole team for being so kind, understanding, and just genuinely caring. You really made my day!”

She was very easy to talk to. It was very clear to me that Dr Qureshi took an interest in my symptoms, as she asked me relevant follow-up questions. She was very reassuring and gave me lots of very helpful advice. She was so genuinely caring and addressed my concerns very thoroughly and knowledgeably. What really stood out though, was that despite the immense time pressures on GPs these days, at no point whatsoever did I feel rushed at all, not one iota. I was very worried and anxious about my symptoms before my appt, but came away from the consultation feeling so much more positive and hopeful. This was solely down to Dr Qureshi and her exceptional manner. There's hope yet for the NHS! :)”
