“We stopped here in the middle of a 12km walk with our 2 dogs. We did not have a reservation and it was a bank holiday but we managed to get a table despite it being very busy. The service was fantastic and extremely nice from the start to the end - and very accommodating for our dogs. there were plenty other dogs there. The food was very tasty and portion size was just right. Prices were slightly high but that’s to be expected in this area.”

“What a lovely place! We are here on a Tuesday evening so very quiet. We have stayed for 3 drinks and decided to try the food. Onion bhajis are light and crispy. The green chilli chicken is spicy. SPICY and I am here for it even though it made my tongue numb. The Gunter chicken has a delicious sauce and the bread is fab! Will definitely be back even though Jumbo the life size elephant scares the shit out of me!”

My only complaint is that there isn't a free cash machine in there because its cash only, I have to go to the local tesco just to get some out and have a drink”

“Went for a birthday breakfast at the Royal Lancaster hotel, I had the breakfast buffet and was very happy with everything, the service was great, the breakfast options were plenty, with sweet and savoury there was something for everyone, please note if you’re Muslim you’ll have to request halal sausages from the kitchen as the ones out aren’t halal but glad there’s an option for that. The French toast was also amazing. Marcelina, Mounir and Ayska were lovely and very attentive throughout our breakfast, thank you again.”

We are always welcomed with open arms and the team bend over backwards to accommodate us. I must shout out the whole team… they’re all amazing… however, Becks has served us since we first started coming here, since moving in locally, before Jason the Head Chef joined, she was the main reason for our return. Jason joined, the food has been out of this world… I would recommend the roasts - they’re delicious! The beef is served pink and the vegetables are cooked perfectly and well seasoned. It’s always a pleasure coming to visit The Black Horse and we cannot recommend it enough. Final shout out to Becks, Jason… our favourites… and of course Harry, Layla, Ben, Jess, Jack and Ollie. ❤️❤️❤️”

One of the nicest touches is that every so often, they’ll include a complimentary dish from the chef. “A restaurant with delicious and authentic Thai fare. The two of us were stuffed with one appetizer, a meat dish and a bowl if rice. Didn't check the wine list but soft drinks are pretty affordable. Dishes were served hot and freshly prepared. The server kindly offered chopsticks yet it was a little inconvenient to use with plates not bowls. One thing worth noting was that the heater wasn't strong enough to warm us up - girls sitting next table needed to cover their knees with coats.”
