“Wonderful shop. Great selection of teas and coffees. And lots of other interesting things. Owners are very welcoming and helpful.”
“The best coffee, cakes, food and people! We visit multiple times a week and the kids always ask if we can have G & P's for breakfast before school. We always feel lost when you both take a well earned holiday! Keep up the amazing work!”
“The coffee was simply divine, I had a large salted caramel hot chocolate and was served at Wellingborough station by Rafi and she was amazing, with a lovely smile.”
“Love this place! The food is amazing: freshly prepared and cooked, awesome quality ingredients-doubt you'd find a better quality fry up anywhere else locally, epic portion sizes too! The decor is truly unique. From Only Fools and Horses quotes and pictures to old hats, guitars and vinyls up on the walls. You'll struggle to not spot something new each time you visit. The staff are always friendly and helpful. All in all, my favourite way to start the weekend is a Jester's breakfast!”
“Amazing service and the coffee was so good! I asked the barista if they could make their gingerbread latte in an iced version and she was happy to make the change (so many places wouldn’t do the same). Prices were also reasonable and fair! Will definitely return to check out more of the menu!”
“Love this cafe. Quiet ambience and friendly staff. Americano is so smooth and cakes are tasty, all of them!”
“Ah, where do I begin with the Oak House Hotel in Wellingborough? You see, it's not every day that you come across a place that strikes the perfect balance between affordability and genuine warmth, but Oak House... Oak House does it with a grace that's hard to find in today's world. From the moment I stepped through those doors, I was greeted by a lady named Gayle. Now, let me tell you about Gayle. She's not just your run-of-the-mill hotel employee. No, she's the heart and soul of the place. The kind of person whose very presence just makes you feel at home. Her smile? Infectious. Her demeanor? As warm as a freshly brewed cup of tea. She's the gemstone of hospitality, and her kindness... it's as refreshing as a cool breeze on a hot summer's day. Now, the hotel itself, they say it's a 2-star establishment. But let me assure you, the moment you walk in, that star rating feels like a gross underestimation. The ambiance, the decor, it all gives off the air of a place that should boast at least an extra star by its name. It's a classic example of not judging a book by its cover. The dining area and bar are what I'd call an oasis of tranquility. Spacious, yet intimate enough to make one feel cozy and undisturbed. A perfect spot to unwind after a day of hustle and bustle. And would you believe it, I had my folding bike with me, quite the conundrum at most places, but not for Gayle. She whisked it away and secured it without so much as a second thought. It's little touches like this, the understanding of a traveler's needs, that truly set Oak House apart. The rooms, oh, the rooms! Each one came with a tea and coffee set, a small gesture that speaks volumes. The comfort of being able to brew your own beverage whenever the need strikes is something I cherish deeply. And for those who indulge in tobacco's embrace, fear not. The hotel has a smoking area at the back, complete with a canopy to shield you from the elements. They understand that some needs don't adhere to the clock's whims. But the pièce de résistance, the crowning jewel of the Oak House experience, is Gayle's tour. She takes each guest around upon arrival, ensuring that no one feels lost. It's a personal touch, a sign of care and consideration that you just don't get everywhere. In conclusion, my stay at the Oak House Hotel was nothing short of delightful. It's more than just a place to lay your head; it's a warm embrace in the form of lodging. If you're ever in Wellingborough and need a place to stay, look no further. Oak House, with Gayle's incomparable hospitality, will make sure your visit is memorable. It's a shining example of how a hotel should be run, and I, for one, cannot recommend it highly enough.”
“Very pleasant breakfast. Food was hot and well prepared. Service prompt and easy going. A good start to the day. Revisited and just as good a second time.... And again; no drop-off in standards ✔️”
“Excellent food and excellent prices”
“The best food I ever ate! Very friendly staff! Will back with pleasure!”
“A few weeks ago I threw an impromptu hen do for my friend here. It was a Saturday so very busy but Sarah and the team did a brilliant job accommodating us. The food and drink was amazing, beautiful decor and the karaoke made it! Thank you so much guys - highly recommend. This place is a gem!”
“A lovely cafe I like to regularly visit with my dogs, staff are super friendly and helpful, love the vibe in here very chilled in the morning so it’s nice to come in and be able to relax with the doggies, I’ve been coming here since 2018 and the management has changed and you can really tell the difference ash is a superstar and you can just tell she puts her heart and soul into this job and loves what she is doing, she’s really improved this store and made such an impact on it well done.”
“This was our first time in this branch of Costa today, a lovely coffe shop, very clean all through including the toilet. Very friendly staff, and a lovely lemon drizzle cake. If you go to Costa fairly regulary it is worth having a costa card or the app on your phone and using a re-useable cup as you get twice the amount of rewards.”
“Popped in for a cappuccino and it was absolutely on point, the coffee tasted great the temperature of the milk was spot on. Customer service was brilliant will definitely be returning.”
“Can we take a moment for the excellent service that we always receive, special shout out to Karl and another lady (I’m sorry I can’t remember your name ) that always makes sure our dog Murphy gets the best pup cups . You guys are legends !!”
“Lovely little cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly staff and nice setting. Bacon baguette and latte tasted great.”
“Food was lovely, and lots of it - really, really good value for money. Staff were really nice and took time to make you feel welcome. Customer area was SPOTLESS. The only thing I will say is, as an autistic adult I found the acoustics difficult, I had to use ear buds, however the food, cleanliness and genuine welcome means I will go again, even just for take away.”
“We had a lovely brunch at the Garden Deli. The food ,as always is delicious and nicely arranged. The staff are polite and efficient. Service is prompt even when busy. There is a lovely atmosphere to the place, and interesting shops to browse in the Nene Court Shopping area.”
“This is a lovely little cafe which is extremely reasonable with a large menu. It's a great choice of food and everytime I've been the food has been really nice and well cooked. They do prefer cash but will happily take card payments too. Always a treat to visit the Pumphouse.”
“Wanted to go here for some time and it did not disappoint!!! As soon as you walk through the door the gingerbread smell hits you, all hand made delights with so much to choose from. Not only is there sweet treats but the savoury selection is top quality too, and the coffee is brilliant! All at a more then reasonable price. It's so lovely to go somewhere that isn't a chain, has such a friendly warm atmosphere we need a Beth's in every town!”
“Buffet provided for Work Party - all details discussed prior to event to ensure the team were well catered for and dietary needs were met. No one was left out and the 'cheese monsters' were especially happy! Fantastic selection of freshly cut sandwiches and baked items along with sweet treats too. Thoroughly enjoyed by everyone and stress free for the organiser. Highly recommended.”
“Had breakfast delivered today and it was perfect, great quality and really quick delivery at a pleasantly reasonable price, will be back”
“Food is excellent value for money. Friendly staff, lovely surroundings inside. Is a private dining room for groups too. Variety of tables and booths. Subdued lighting.”
“We had the whole upstairs area to ourselves, overlooking the lakes, surrounded by various artefacts from the lakes themselves! Brilliant, chill atmosphere. We all had the hot dogs which were huge, came loaded with onions, and were very cheap. The staff also had no issues with us taking the mustard up to our table.”
“Stopped for a coffee on our walk today. Was greeted with warmth and friendliness, and a good coconut milk latte. Would prefer an extra shot of coffee and will ask for it next time.”
