“We could not love this place anymore! We had our wedding here in May and just loved everything about it! Ginny and Guy are the nicest people and couldn’t do enough for us. Communication was amazing and we felt so reassured by them with everything. The venue is beautiful and all our guests commented on how perfect the setting was. Perfect ending was sitting down to a delicious breakfast Sunday morning with our family. A huge thanks to Ginny, Guy, their family and all the bar team for making our day so special!”

“The food here is the BEST in a 20mins radius. We live in Olney but the old mill beats all of them, hands down! And we came from Tooting in london which is renowned for curry. The portion sizes are ridiculously generous so value for money is outstanding but also, the quality of meat and choice is excellent. Well worth the drive although I think they might be on just eat..??”

“Mostly fantastic, the selection of restaurants is great, the lodges have a very nice social area and good facilities. The only thing I found to be an issue was that the Subtropical Swimming Paradise isn’t quite up to the level of Elveden Forest’s in my opinion, as it lacks a saltwater lagoon (mostly negated by the lazy river being saltwater) although there being more large flumes is great, and I get that this can’t be easily changed as it is a central feature. Overall a great Center Parcs resort.”

“Over 2 years ago, we got married at this location. The day was perfect. The staff were helpful throughout the planning process and the day itself went without issue. 2 years later, we came back, now with our son, for our 2 year Anniversary. Again, the staff were extremely professional, the food was worth more than what they charged, and, to help us celebrate, some items were made free for us. I cannot say just how amazing every aspect of the Woodland Manor Hotel is and the staff are amazing”

“Had a one night stay here over a weekend in July and have to say it was a really good experience all round. Free car parking made it easy and the staff were friendly and professional. Room was smart and well equipped and clean as was the bathroom. The 24 hr coffee machine in the lounge area was very welcome. Big shout out to Molly for sorting a problem out for us. Great place to stay, will certainly use them again.”

“Visit here for Yoga sessions, such a tranquil setting for yoga and studio is equipped with everything you need, from mats, bolsters and blankets etc. Love coming here.”

“Me and my 4 children stayed at The Stable Yard end of July for 3 nights, and it was very comfortable the children were a bit cautious at first because they had never stayed in a rural location before like this and one of my children carry an EpiPen so she has sever allergies to dust, hay fever, no allergic reaction at all so all good, they were very pleased to see the horses so close up, in the morning’s , we could literally open the door and there were stables across the path, we could not even hear the horses they were so quiet. The host Clarla greeted us and we were left to it. The children were so pleased with our stay that they cannot wait to come back!! I Just wish we had more time to explore the surroundings as there were walks that we could have gone on to take in all that natural countryside views and woodlands. The water was Hot on demand, even with all children showering every day twice, heating took us a bit of getting used to but we worked it out, didn’t really need it, after our first night as the weather improved. A very pleasant stay, the amenities were excellent everything we needed was provided. Our stay was in The Aintree & The Epsom, dishwashers and a washing machine provided, kitchen with cutlery, oven in each, bathrooms were clean too with everything provided towels, loo rolls, ironing boards, iron, kettle, toaster in each apartment. “I had a Golf ladies away weekend Sunday to Monday in September. We had a great time the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food we had in the evening was very good too. We had two rounds of golf which we all enjoyed too. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Thankyou”

“I recently stayed at Wyboston Lakes Resort for two weeks and had a very good experience. The hotel itself was comfortable, the food was enjoyable, and the staff were all friendly and professional. “Lovely setting and great service. Food was fabulous and even for myself being a celiac non gluten eater they were very helpful, helping me choose items of the menu and checking on things with the chef. Bought bread rolls out for our other party members quickly followed by a non gluten bread roll for myself. Portion. Size of food is big and delicious. Not cheap but worth it.”

“What a great little place! We stayed for a night whilst visiting Santa Pod. On arrival, Bobby came to meet us, showed us where we were staying, and gave us our keys. There were a couple of rooms accessed from the side of the establishment via a locked door, which you were provided a key for along with your room key. Once inside, there was a communal area with iron and board, Bobby's contact details should we need them and the WiFi info. From here, there was access to a shared kitchen we could make use of, which was very clean. It had all the amenities you could want. Then there were also the entrances to the rooms. Our room was brilliant, with what looked like a queen size bed. Which was amazing! It was decorated very tastefully and impeccably tidy throughout. The ensuite was exceedingly clean. We had our evening meal at the Spice Tree, Indian Restaurant, which shared the premises. The food was so delicious, and the staff were lovely and friendly. All in all, a great stay which I wouldn't hesitate to book again. Thanks Bobby!”

“It’s a lovely hotel with spacious rooms, and the bar staff were very friendly. We stayed there on a Thursday night, and it was pleasantly quiet. The location is convenient—just a 10-minute walk from the station—so there's no need to worry about traffic. It’s definitely a great place to stay at a reasonable price. In fact, while Premier Inn was charging nearly double, this hotel offered much better quality. I would certainly choose to stay here again if I visit Bedford in the future.”

“On arrival we were welcomed by a lovely lady who showed us to our room in this fabulous old manor house offering us country side views. Rooms are very clean and have everything you need for a comfortable stay. There are convenient shops nearby and many pubs serving food within a few miles. The Five Bells in Henlow comes highly recommended. The grounds are beautiful and surrounding areas outstanding. We were so happy to find this rare gem. We will be back on our next visit to Bedfordshire for sure.”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was our 6th visit to The Knife & Cleaver, and I thought it was about time I left a proper review. My partner and I always come here for a little getaway, and every time we’re reminded why we keep coming back. The staff are consistently friendly and welcoming, which makes such a difference. The room we stayed in was lovely, comfortable, and just what we needed for a relaxing break. For dinner, I had a three-course meal cooked by Gary, and the fish and chips were absolutely spot on. Gary even came out to say hello, which was such a nice personal touch. Manager Sue also made us feel very welcome, adding to the warm atmosphere. After our meal, we headed to the bar where Acer mixed up some cracking cocktails for my partner. Between the great drinks, the friendly service, and the easy banter at the bar, it really felt like being among friends. What stands out most is how well the whole team works together—it’s rare to see a place where everyone gels so naturally, and it makes the experience that much better. We’ll definitely be back again in the future. If you’re planning a spa day at Woburn, I’d highly recommend finishing it off with a stay here. Thanks again to the whole team—you’re a crazy, brilliant bunch, and we’ll see you soon!”

“This independent hotel is tucked away within a ten minute walk from Bedford town centre with ample parking at the rear. I was greeted by the helpful staff upon entry who were happy to help with bags and information about the local area. A mix of rooms with en suites and shared bathrooms which are kept clean. Not the most spacious place but it really feels like a hidden gem. Breakfast was included and the full English went down a treat, plus there's the option of a continental, if preferred. Great value and highly revenged l recommended from me.”

“I came here for a conference and the facilities are absolutely amazing. The little "cafe" is a brilliant idea, stocking sandwiches, wraps, pastries, cakes and other snacks so that we never went hungry. A wide range of drinks available, coffees, teas, flavoured waters both still and sparkling. This is all free for attendants, so anyone attending your events here is going to walk away very happy. We were also happily surprised with the three course dinner, while served similar to a school meal the food itself was of reasonable quality. I skipped the soup starter to have a Steak & Ale Pie with Chips and a Raspberry & White Chocolate Cheesecake for dessert. Both were similar to pub quality, rather than a restaurant, but there were certainly no complaints from anyone on our table.”

“No kettles in the room! But FREE coffee machines in the corridors which is possibly the best idea I've seen in recent years. I would much rather a freshly made coffee or hot chocolate than a sachet of instant while faffing with a kettle. Well done on a great idea. Rooms are spotlessly clean, Standard room a little small but adequate for a couple of nights stay. Staff helpful and friendly.”

“We stayed at the Mill Pub for a couple of nights. This is a lovely local pub in an excellent location right in the heart of Bedford. The staff were so welcoming, especially Mary who really looked after us and went above and beyond! We will definitely stay here again when we visit Bedford.”

“Had an overnight stay in Woburn last weekend. Longs provided a friendly and cosy place to stay for the night at incredible value. Highly recommended. The only small negative was that I was looking forward to a cooked breakfast that was advertised when I booked however when leaving the building at about 09.00am on a Sunday there were no staff on duty and definitely no smells of food being cooked. I guess I just picked a bad day but never mind.”

“Many positives, especially Russell on reception who went out of his way numerous times to help us. Also to Michael the night porter who was very helpful. The disabled lift was not working and this should have been looked into quickly but wasn't. Although, I was able to access the bar and restaurant via the staff kitchen entrance luckily thanks to Russell and Co. Had to ask staff 3 times for a remote for the air-con. Russell was the one who resolved this, thankfully. I assume the other 2 staff forget. Hotel needs more disabled car spaces, 2 is not enough. Hotel located in a very nice quiet area of country. Breakfast was superb and all staff very helpful and friendly, although forgot one or two things. I'd stay again, which is a good sign!”

“Me and my son booked a room last minute, as soon as we arrived we were amazed at the aesthetic of the hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful! The hotel was immaculate and very clean throughout. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Our room was perfect, the bed was made all towels were provided and tea and coffee was there. The bathroom was great had soap and shower gels shampoo etc no signs of mould or dirt.. Extremely clean and very well presented. Staff were very very friendly and helpful. Thank you for such a warm welcome 10/10”
