“This was our second visit to this pub and we all enjoyed the experience very much. The food was first class with a good variety of pub classics. The pies are exceptional but then so is everything else. As a walking group we arrived wet and cold and the welcome was lovely. The staff worked hard to ensure we had a good experience. For me HSB and London Pride work really well and set me up for a first class lunch. Well worth a visit and fairly priced for good sized portions.”

“Popped in for the midday lunch menu. Opened slightly later than advertised due to a gas inspection issue but hey. Once inside I was by myself so no atmosphere, but nice and quite. Ordered the half chicken with rice and a bowl of free salad. The chicken was amazing, fresh and tender and fell of the bone. Staff friendly. Worth the visit.”

“So good we ate here twice in the same day! We always come here whenever we come to Hayling for an impromptu day out. We arrived just after opening on Sunday, and was in and out nice and quickly. Chips were beautiful, battered sausages lovely and crunchy and a great amount of salt and vinegar! A rarity for a chippy! We were very happy eating it while watching the sea. After our day exploring the beaches we decided to get the same meal again to complete the day. Again brilliantly cooked and no complaints from our picky kids. Thank you very much :)”

“A snicky Sunday breakfast out ... 1st visit & 1st of many to come. What a lovely cafe. Menu choice is considerable & excellent value for money. Good selection of breakfast's on offer. Rose cage has a lovely atmosphere and staff are very friendly. Def recommend.”

“Excellent steak, we had the chateaubriand and we couldn't fault it, cooked to perfection. The staff were friendly, lauren was our waitress who was brilliant, and the restaurant was very busy with a good atmosphere.”

“Arrived too late for their exceptional scrambled egg on toast but the meat and vegetable pasty was delicious. If you park on the estuary beach, choose a table with an appropriate view as the tide comes in quickly. The main car park is a few hundred yards away but you'll pass an interesting craft shopping arcade en route. Car park has two EV Chargers but I didn't need a top up. Mer. 7kw. 56p. Cafe is popular and has a reasonable menu but breakfasts only until 11am. Not outrageous but some do "all day" Great ambience and superb views. Highly recommended.”

“We come to visit as our brother has just started working here - we were served by Bobbie who was very polite, friendly and very welcoming. Definitely worth visiting for food. Lovely venue that's a bar above other local places we've been in when visiting Portsmouth.”

“I led a wedding ceremony here and the staff were lovely. Its modern and big and run very well its a good set up and I had a great time. Oli the operations manager was lovely and knows his stuff and was very helpful. The wedding ceremony went so well I would definitely work with them again in the future.”

“It run by Thai owner now and add more Thai dish. We ordered noodle with pork Nam Tok soup and Somtum. The taste was same as I ate in Thailand. I really recommend if you would like to try the real Thai food with the reasonable price near the commercial road. I absolutely go back again to try other menu.”

“I’ve just parked what turned out to be a misconceived prejudice and went for breakfast here. Everything was perfect. I was greeted by a super cheerful lady, shown to a dog friendly area in the restaurant and served with a smile and efficiency. Even bought my dog a fresh bowl of water. My breakfast was cooked fresh, with good quality ingredients. No cheap sausage or bacon here, had a choice of fried or scrambled eggs (I asked for one of each and was obliged) unlimited filter coffee and orange juice finished it off. Paid under fifteen pounds, excellent value and would definitely go again.”

“Pasties here are great. Price is also great compared to others. Only trouble is that they only make so many, if you're not quick they are often sold out. The vegetable samosas is also nice but not as good value as their pasties.”

Friends had raved about the boathouse but we were disappointed by the small selection of cakes , rolls and panini , BUT it was the best panini we had ever had AND we then on leaving we discovered we had gone into the Boathouse cafe not the linked Boathouse restaurant right next door. We will just have to revisit. :)”

“Brilliant little cafe situated next to the beach, ample parking available for motorbikes. Cars were having more issues of manoeuvring around the car park. Food was fantastic, huge portions! And very reasonably priced. Would visit again.”

“This cafe is good. They cater for some dietary restrictions and being Morrisons their prices are not bad. The shop is on one level (ground floor) and is easy to get round even on a mobility scooter. If you need help just ask. The staff are very friendly and helpful”

“I was actually really pleasantly surprised at how nice & how fresh the food was. There was a bit of a wait as they seemed short staffed & one staff member in her coat who had a day off actually went behind the till to serve. The local navy people use it for lunch too so there were a fair few people ordering food at the same time. It really was worth the wait though. I have to say it's the best supermarket cafe food I've eaten & the menu is really extensive.”

I always have a nice smile every time from the server so that makes me feel more comfortable & more welcome so I also rate that 200/10.”
