Set within a striking, glass-fronted building that feels more like a modern department store than a weekly shop, it’s spacious, bright, and genuinely pleasant to walk around. No soulless metal box here, this is a thoughtfully designed space that lifts the mood before you’ve even picked up a basket. Inside, the selection is vast and well-organised, making everything from everyday essentials to specialist ingredients easy to find. Fresh produce is abundant and well-stocked, and there’s a strong variety in world foods, bakery, and chilled ranges. It’s the kind of store where you can do a full weekly shop and still pick up a good-value bottle of fizz on the way out. Prices are reliably competitive, and the customer service stands out, helpful, polite and refreshingly unflustered. You get the sense staff take pride in the store. In short, Asda Lower Earley is a proper gem: easy to navigate, well presented, and a cut above the standard big-box supermarket. Well worth a visit even if it’s just for the sheer joy of a bright, spacious trolley dash.”

“People are being way to soft caring about the staff calling customers ‘mate’, it is a friendly caring environment they offer, with most staff members being very friendly, patient and supportive of their customers, looking after them and doing all they can to help them in store working their absolute backsides off!! It’s not an easy job and I would like to see many of the people leaving negative comments try it themselves! Great work Co-op, keep it up!”

“I've been here a couple times as Asda has some cereal that I can't find elsewhere.. there is plenty of space to move around, always in and out without any issue & always friendly staff. It isn't easy to get to from the centre of Reading & the best way to go there is to drive or to walk if you have the time.”

“This is my go-to Coop. It is very conveniently located and used by many students. The place is very well stocked and very clean. It is a pleasure to shop there. I top up my electricity, get groceries and also get a cheeky Costa drink! They have very good deals too.”

“This is a friendly store with a good range of goods though the choice is necessarily restricted because of the limited space available. In spite of that there is a wide range of fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy and bakery products and wine. Most household items such as those for cleaning and washing etc. are stocked. There are surprising omissions. No Paxo stuffing or Smash, for example, and there is no Parmesan - only the powered stuff. Overall, a very welcoming and useful place to shop for life's essentials.”

“I visited today to buy my favourite Falafel sandwich and regular coffee. Unfortunately, milk got over in the coffee machine. The chap at the counter was very polite and offered large coffee as I had to wait for 5-10 min. No big deal - as it happens! But I comment his politeness and for the offer. Great service, truly M&S brand.”

Also offers a pick up service, (from click and collect). Which i have used with no problems. I like to find a negative, but i cant with this shop..”
