“We have had such a magical morning, it has been amazing. The people are what help to make the magic come alive and make it so welcoming with unique spell and interactions as well as the beautifully decorated rooms and shop. The food is delicious and magically presented as well as the wide range of drinks available. There is also a few vegan and gluten free options for those that need it too. We also had chance to watch the breath taking owl show with some wonderful facts about each performer. The craft options are also beautiful and engaging throughout the whole process and you can take as much or little time as you would like. As for the location you cant miss the purple building with easy parking behind it on the raised car park.”

“Well the 5 star award had to come out, first time in 2025. The scones are fantastic. I had the fruit Scone with butter, and the pot of tea was a good strong brew. They topped up the pot with more hot water, excellent customer service. BIG THANK YOU to George who baked freshly on the premises that morning my fruit Scone. We will be back, Sidney enjoyed his doggee biscuit and bowl of water. Yes dogs welcome.”

“Me and my partner visited on Friday morning while we were on holiday in the area, and I think we honestly could have spent all day there! As you walk in, the shop has a great selection of food and gifts, with a lovely seated area in the actual cafe. We sat by the window to take in the view of the river, and of all the birds on the feeders outside. The food was absolutely amazing, and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Already looking for an excuse to revisit!”

“Been here quite a few times, sometimes just for coffee, other times had pizza and breakfast, (not at the same time!). Each time the food has been absolutely excellent. I'm not really a pizza fan but these are on a par with ones I've had in Italy. My only gripe, and it doesn't just apply to here, many places do it and I've never understood it, and that is (referring to the English breakfast) why do you cook and provide such great food yet ruin it by supplying the most awful, cheap and nasty brown and red sauce. If it's a cost thing, why not just add 50p to each breakfast and get proper HP Sauce and Heinz Tomato Ketchup? Really, really baffles me!!”

“What a lovely find. Been to Penistone today for the first time in years and happened upon this café. Really enjoyed the sandwich & coffee there and brownie I had as takeaway. The staff were very welcoming and helped my elderly father to find the toilet outside somewhere around the back.”

“Great lunch stop off joint if you fancy something different. The queues are out the door most of the time. I went for the Chicken and Spicy Potato, and a Falafel and Halloumi large wrap. I also ordered a portion of meat samosas. All the staff are super friendly and despite being busy busy, still took the time out to chat to every customer. The gentleman manning the till was literally flying around allover the shop. Was impressive to watch! The wraps were amazing…. The sauces we added were, Chilli, mint and Tahini. The large option will have you well and truly stuffed. The samosas weren't great if I’m honest. They were tiny and made of filo pastry, not of proper pastry as shown on their own menu board. If I’d known they were filo, I’d not have ordered them. Their great service and expectional wraps made up for the samosa.”

“The quality of food, service, atmosphere and setting blew us away. Intrigued by the fulsome reviews, and being close to where we were staying, it proved to be a beautiful discovery. The whole enterprise delivers on many levels. It's a learning base with a big heart, a shop for products made in-house, and a relaxed eating area tucked away behind a residential development but overlooking an open field in a rural setting. And the breakfast, it has to be said, was a class act, just like the place itself.”

“Wow wow wow!!!! This review just won’t be enough to explain how “out of this world”our experience was at Vero Gusto. One of the servers (a lady from Sicily) was so chatty and funny, actually all of the servers were amazing and chatty. Saverio kept coming and topping our water up and checking everything was okay and constantly making sure we were happy and enjoying ourselves. Ester who is the chef is one amazing lady, the food was out of this world honestly. You definitely get what you pay for here and I would recommend it to anyone. “My daughter and I had afternoon tea here yesterday. It was really nice. The food was fresh. Good selection of items for afternoon tea. Beautiful Teashop and lovely staff. The owner was very nice and accommodating. They also do theme nights, which I'm sure we shall be back to join. The menu was great for other occasions. Breakfasts and lunches, or a drink and a snack. The shop itself was decorated lovely, with indoor and outdoor seating. Dogs were also welcome. Set in lovely surroundings in a park. We will definitely go again.”

Delicious, interesting food, well cooked and presented. Really friendly service. Highly recommended. Was quiet for a Friday so you might be lucky short notice, really they should be full every night.”

“We haven't been for a while and it seems to have found it's niche in Nether edge. Really good coffee, great cake and very welcoming atmosphere and staff. It's quieter than others close by which was perfect for me. Update- the cafe has really found it's feet. Everything home made, sour dough based. This morning we sampled a wonderful cinnamon bun.”

“Had a wonderful lunch here with my wife earlier today. I had the truffle mushroom on toast and it was delicious. Perfect poached egg too. The service is always really friendly, and the music is always great at Elm - not to mention the coffee! Would recommend this lovely cafe to anyone.”
