“We stayed for two nights mid April. The room (Chatsworth room) was lovely, a large room with everything you needed. Bed very comfortable , very clean. The bathroom was excellent, a large shower unit. With a continental breakfast available in the price, and tea ,coffee facilities available 2hrs a day. The hotel is ideally situated for a walk to the town centre, only 2 minutes away. On site parking is a bonus. The restaurant is lovely with fantastic food. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend a stay to anyone.”

“We had a fabulous overnight stay at the Pebley Inn. It has a lovely deck outside overlooking the countryside, luckily we had a lovely autumn night to make the most of it. We were greeted at check in by the lovely Olivia, it was such a warm friendly welcome and she continued to look after us all night. We stay in a lot of pubs on our travels and don't normally get such amazing service. Food delicious. Beers kept well. Warm atmosphere in the pub. Room well equipped. The whole night was excellent.”

“Enjoyed the roast dinner sitting outside in the sunshine one late April Sunday. Great pint of Landlord, too. Themed nights including Caribbean. Nice pub with contemporary decor that has kept some traditional features inside, with the added outside area having been created to a great standard. Bikes zooming past along Chesterfield Road a bit annoying but the food distracted from that. Choice of beef, chicken or gammon, large freshly made yorkies, cauliflower cheese, a massive boat of gravy and accompanying veg. Good portion.. although it needed to be at £16! I would mention more about the high price of a Sunday lunch here, was it not for the fact that it was blooming delicious!! Grandma's Bread and butter pudding to finish (bloody lovely Grandma) and a couple of pints of Rutland ale. Great pub and well positioned for local walks before or after to Ashover and beyond. Great food, Good beer selection, well placed to explore the area and make a day of it.”

“We used Hickingwood boarding services for our cats for many years, both cats always settled in well and been looked after well by the lady. A trustworthy and reliable cattery.”

“Just returned from a weekend mystery tour just to say my mum and I had a brilliant time the hotel used the chesterson grange was lovely met some nice fellow travellers and your driver daniel was first class . Brill!”

“We stayed at the Apollo Inn whilst attending a wedding at a nearby venue. The staff were all very attentive & friendly, the service was above and beyond. The rooms were modern, clean and comfortable and the breakfast was phenomenal!”

“This pub was recommended by my parents as a good place for a meal and a real ale, on the day of the booking I admit to looking at the reviews and getting a bit worried, however I have got to say it did not disappoint, 5 (I think) Titanic beers plus 3 guest, the decor was traditional pub, with lovely Christmas lights, managed to find space in the car park too. The food was excellent, we had 5 different meals all really nice, steak, gammon, fish pie, fish and chips and a burger, real chips as well! Followes by 5 desserts, the crumble was a very good portion, and the stick toffee Christmas pudding was delicious. The lady who took our orders and delivered food was fantastic and provided great service all night. I would like to return in daylight so I can appreciate the countryside next time!”

“One of the best garden centres we have found. Their plants are extremely good quality, great choice and amazing staff. We needed a tree delivering and although we are out of their delivery area they still brought it through for us, with a smile. It'll now be the centre piece of our garden and we're looking forward to the spring when we can go and find the rest of the much needed planting. The Bistro is also exceptional and comfortable with great food and the staff are absolutely lovely. The photo is of our lovely Acer Armstrong waiting to be planted up at home.”

“My room was comfortable and clean. It had plenty of tea, coffee, etc. Had a smart tv and a decent shower. The ladies in the bar were welcoming and friendly. The breakfast the next morning was tasty and good value at £7.95 for a small, including a hot drink. A couple of minor negatives are. The hireable venue opposite may keep people awake for a while. It depends on how much of a light sleeper you are. Also, the room was really bright early in the morning.”

“Dunston Lodge were great. I had to find a short term stay for my dog at the last minute due to a funeral. Richard and his team were able to fit my dog in and were incredibly reassuring throughout the process as it was my dogs first time staying. He showed me the kennels and areas my dog would be staying and outlined the daily routines. My dog came back pampered, healthy and happy. Lovely spot and I'll visit again!”

“I came here for business reasons and the hotel staff are magnificent, especially the night team comprising of two wonderful gentleman who deserved every poppadom I brought them. The rooms were comfortable and the shower not too bad! The only reason for a subtraction of a star is the silly glass pane that is used to block water from exiting the shower. It’s ineffective and makes the floor slippery. Please install a permanent fixture that extends further along the bathtub side. I’m no expert on showering appliances, but that’s my personal take on it. I loved the free bottles of water with the room, I find that to be such a wonderful feature of any room I stay in! The spa facilities were alright, the woman was very kind on the front desk. The steam room was far too cold to be classed as one, and had a strange odor to it. I won’t subtract stars for this as it’s not technically part of the hotel’s management. The bar staff were kind to me, especially the long-haired young fellow who made sure I got a lovely chicken Cesar salad for lunch! I recommend staying at this hotel. Parking’s free too!”

“Currently staying in the shepherds hut with my partner and 2 boys. None of us want to leave tomorrow. You just couldn't ask for more at all. Everything is provided, the serenity is untouched, it's just amazing in every aspect we're 100% coming back for a week in the summer. Phil is such a lovely guy, just can't do enough for you. It really feels like you're a guest rather than a customer.”
