“we've been going to The crown and Anchor for perhaps over a yr now. we live close to Chesterfield town centre and enjoy Friday nights in this pub . we visit perhaps a few times a month. really nice atmosphere and staff are very welcoming and friendly. The pub raise alot of money for different charity's., great entertainment and quizzes. highly recommend!!”

“The food is home cooked, and I've never been disappointed yet. I usually go in a group and the choice suits everyone. The prices are very reasonable, it's not worth putting the oven on at home for their special discount days. The staff are exceptionally friendly even when really busy. It is so popular it is essential to book.”

“I visited this pub for the first time today. Just to have a Pint before getting the bus back to Derby. It was a great pub not many people mainly due to it being lunchtime and football at home in Chesterfield. Nice staff member told me about the new Oakham Ales on tap a very nice Pint of Ale. Great Pub Great Beer”

“Enjoyed the roast dinner sitting outside in the sunshine one late April Sunday. Great pint of Landlord, too. Themed nights including Caribbean. Nice pub with contemporary decor that has kept some traditional features inside, with the added outside area having been created to a great standard. Bikes zooming past along Chesterfield Road a bit annoying but the food distracted from that. Choice of beef, chicken or gammon, large freshly made yorkies, cauliflower cheese, a massive boat of gravy and accompanying veg. Good portion.. although it needed to be at £16! I would mention more about the high price of a Sunday lunch here, was it not for the fact that it was blooming delicious!! Grandma's Bread and butter pudding to finish (bloody lovely Grandma) and a couple of pints of Rutland ale. Great pub and well positioned for local walks before or after to Ashover and beyond. Great food, Good beer selection, well placed to explore the area and make a day of it.”

“Delicious food and always great beer here. The staff are lovely and the buildings are beautifully kept both inside and out. Outside, there's a nice beer garden and a covered wooden decked area which is lovely on a summer's evening with the "Crooked Spire" of Chesterfield visible in the distance. The log burner makes the inside toasty in the colder months and the low ceilings, oak beams and pretty lighting create a lovely atmosphere. The Blue Bell Inn is definitely worth a visit.”

“We had a fabulous overnight stay at the Pebley Inn. It has a lovely deck outside overlooking the countryside, luckily we had a lovely autumn night to make the most of it. We were greeted at check in by the lovely Olivia, it was such a warm friendly welcome and she continued to look after us all night. We stay in a lot of pubs on our travels and don't normally get such amazing service. Food delicious. Beers kept well. Warm atmosphere in the pub. Room well equipped. The whole night was excellent.”

“Well when you have 3 real ale pubs within 50 metres it has to be good!? The Dronfield Arms is another " Brew Pub" home to Tempest Brewery. Casta had one of their Pale Ales.. Rear beer decking next to car park to enjoy a sunny south facing summer afternoon. Somebody knew Casta was a relative of Flat Eric, 1990's Superstar. (Now penniless and living with us!) Pub very close to railway station.”

“This is what a pub is supposed to be like. Great service from the moment we stepped in. Moretti on tap. Magic. Good atmosphere, busy, country pub. The food is exceptional and proper home style cooking. You don't get that these days with all that boil in the bag ding dinners they serve at chains. Battered cod and chips was excellent. Liver and onions, pies, braising steak. Range of desserts. Very reasonably priced. I mean, it's where you go for a great meal. Thank you Alan and Tracey.”

“Excellent service. The team are amazing. We were made very welcome by Lynne and her team. We will definitely be rebooking for our Christmas family meal next year. Customer service is the key and I was extremely impressed with each and every member of the team. It felt like one big happy family and such a great atmosphere.”

“Popped in for a milkshake but decided to get food. It was delicious! I had the ‘veggie burger’ which came with spinach fritters, I really enjoyed it. Something different and so very tasty. The staff were very friendly, helpful and patient as we had a big order. Will definitely be returning.”

“We stayed at the Apollo Inn whilst attending a wedding at a nearby venue. The staff were all very attentive & friendly, the service was above and beyond. The rooms were modern, clean and comfortable and the breakfast was phenomenal!”

“Friendly estate pub, now getting some stability of ownership and seems someone who really cares about getting the old place up and running again. Trying new things like Gin nights, perfume nights as well as keeping the old favourites such as Thursday and Sunday quiz nights going. Nice outdoor area to rear and good amount of hand gel dispensers around at this time. Needs to sort out disabled access but this is in hand. Supported by a range of locals, but more needed, try a visit!”

“Been coming to Ark every week since its refurb and love it. My dad plays darts every week! Tried the new food menu and it was amazing. Value for money is huge! Had the veggie hendos halloumi, extra chips and also a house burger. It was brillant. Good beer, Good food and good atmosphere!”

“A really friendly, cosy pub with a good atmosphere and an ideal place to watch sport, with live music every weekend. Quiz night every Thursday with a delicious pie and pea supper and friendly bar staff to serve a large selection of beers. A proper boozer that’s well worth a visit, regardless if you’re young or old and dog friendly.”

“We had rather a long wait as it was half price steak but the staff and the service was very attentive and compensated us for the 40 minutes delay. Steaks were excellent dessert home made and delicious. Would recommend and certainly come again.”

“We go in at lunchtime on a Friday! Steak pie is a favourite however we've sample alot of the menu and it's all excellent. Staff are welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Can get busy when sports events are on so would recommend booking a table”

“Great place to watch live sport on either Sky Sports or BT Sports. Friendly staff, decent beer, you can bring in food from outside and it has a good crowd. Highly recommend.”
