“This was our first visit to Wagamama, and after six days in Bournemouth and trying many other restaurants, it was by far the best. “Simply incredible. I've been to many Japanese restaurants, but this small, cozy place has undoubtedly become my favorite. The food quality is outstanding. Everything is freshly prepared with great care. You can truly feel that each dish is made with love and a deep respect for Japanese tradition. The fish is fresh, the flavours are balanced, and the variety is impressive, especially for such an intimate restaurant. The space is calm, clean, and thoughtfully organised. It’s run by a lovely couple who are incredibly kind and welcoming, which makes the experience even more special. Their hospitality and attention to detail really stand out. My partner and I ordered the summer roll, salmon hoso maki, black tiger roll maki (my partner’s favorite), Philadelphia roll (my favorite), tuna and salmon sashimi. The prices are fair and more than worth it for the quality you receive. It’s the kind of hidden gem you stumble upon and immediately want to share with everyone. More people need to discover and try this place. ❤️”

They have great vegan options, some of which aren’t on the menu so be sure to ask! Extremely reasonably priced for such high quality sushi. “Delicious food today. Katsu curry was the best I’ve had in Dorset. Sushi fish was succulent and super fresh. The Ramen bowls also went down well. Very good indeed. A firm favourite with my son, also who travels to Japan regularly. This is his go to local when he’s home.”

The staff were genuinely polite and welcoming, making the whole visit feel relaxed and enjoyable. Booking a table was super easy, and we didn’t have to wait long at all for our food. “Very friendly man running the restaurant and cooking the food, very courteous and apologetic for a slight wait… we didn’t wait long at all and he had only just opened! We both went for Bento Box 2 which included: Rice, Bulgogi Beef or Chilli Pork (I had pork my husband had beef), 2 Tempura Prawns, 2 Fried Dumplings, 2 Spring Rolls, 2 Chicken Skewers and a portion of chilli chicken balls each. The food arrived nicely presented and looked great… it tasted fab! Everything was so full of flavour, cooked wonderfully and the meat was nice and tender. We thoroughly enjoyed everything and were so full afterwards. All for a really good price too! Rice Bar Totoro is on our list of places to return to soon, we want to try the rest of the great looking menu!”
