“Lovely food and atmosphere. The newly refurbished restaurant and additional seating area is a big improvement. Our server was Phoebe she was vey efficient and great service. As ever highly recommend”
“Slightly biased as have been coming here since the early 80s, and although we miss the old style pub, it could have ended up much worse than it is design wise. Food quality is back on an even keel and is consistently of good quality and presentation this taking away that level of apprehension you feel when you go to so many restaurants these days. Shout out to the young ladies and men of the service team who provide a very professional level of service in a pub / restaurant which I know for a fact can suffer from some challenging customers at times...”
“A well hidden gem with a really laid back atmosphere and super friendly staff. Food is simple but fresh and delicious. A great place to chat and take your time. Will be back for sure.”
“I absolutely love it here. Been 3 times already. Vegan options are incredible. Food is really tasty. Really great location too as theres loads of parking right next door. Staff are really friendly. Great great pub.”
“Great little pub. Nice little beer garden and biker friendly”
“A great start to our Hampshire pub experience. Nicely kept beer and pleasant staff. Food looked good but we didn't have time to stay as we were on a schedule.”
“This is a diamond hiding in plain sight! A perfect cozy and comfortable restaurant. Food is just right with lots of flavour and variety. Staff are welcoming and friendly with right right amount of interaction and interest. I've eaten here a few times now and have not been disappointed. Outdoor, covered eating space or roomy warm interior. Many drink options to choose from ales, cocktails, spirits and wine. For a privately owned and run local restaurant this is somewhere I would always recommend and when possible (as not local) eat at.”
“The best burgers me and my mum have ever had. We had half each of the shredded chicken and beef brisket, they were both absolutely devine. I could not recommend eating here more. Even the chips were beautiful. 100% will return. These really just aren't any burgers !!!”
“This place is a true gem in Romsey. Great atmosphere, great service & an excellent menu, both food & wine. We might become regulars!”
“On our way home from a stay in Bournemouth,we decided to make a pitt stop. It took just over 40mins to get here, navigating through the village of Lyndhurst and numerous wild ponies. The hotel and surroundings are magnificent with views of the New Forest as far as the eye can see. But as impressive it all is,we are not here for that. We are here for the food of Hartnett Holder & Co. Angela Hartnett & Luke Holder are in charge of the kitchen here, serving Italian influenced dishes. As we were early we managed to get seated on the terrace in the glorious sunshine with our doggies. While admiring the surroundings a member of staff brought out a bowl of olives and nuts. We ordered a couple of zero alcohol Erdinger beers £11.(driving). Menu wise, there was a choice between the bar, a set lunch and an A la Carte. We chose from the bar menu. Risotto Milanese £16 Saffron infused, aged parmesan & butter. Spaghetti Bolognese £15 Somerset Saxon Chicken Milanese £20 Lemon, parmesan & rocket. Cornish Fish £30 Tenderstem broccoli, lemon & green leaves. Chips Skinnies £7 Although we were full,we could not leave until we tried the Tiramisu £15. Everything we had was just as expected. Simple dishes, beautifully executed and full of flavour. With lots of parmesan to add. We didn't get to see much of the inside of the house as doggies are not allowed in. Hence that's the reason we dined outside. But we did get first class service and enjoyed every minute of our visit. Thank goodness the weather was on our side.”
“Family of 4 went for a Sunday roast after doing one of the Ambling Path walks around the area. Was really lovely, huge roast dinners and my son had macaroni cheese from the kids menu. Out kids are 11 and 8 and the kids meals were plenty big enough and really good value. Staff were friendly and the garden and play area outside are stunning. Good value for money too, we will definitely be back ❤️”
“Wonderful pub. Lovely and very friendly staff. Food is superb. Steak pie the best I have ever had. Will go back again.”
“We stayed two nights at the Bugle. The room was spotlessly clean and well-appointed, with everything we needed for a short stay. Staff were beyond helpful and are truly lovely! The breakfast was plentiful and cooked to order so it was hot and fresh. The location is great, with several other options for dining and drinking too. Yes, there is some noise in the room from the bar but it stops promptly at 11pm and it's to be expected when you stay in a pub! No car park, but easy, free parking just across the road. Thanks Bugle team for a great stay!”
“Brilliant classic pub, unexpectedly good food, and I mean quality good food, we had squid which can be difficult to get right without over cooking and going chewy but this was perfect, even the salid side dressings which id normally ignore was delicious. We also had about 4 different members of staff come and check everything was ok including the chef!! Really shows they care about the food, Exceptional service would strongly recommend”
“Had a table booked for a family celebration, table all set up nicely, service was good and the food was excellent. Staff were helpful and polite. Service all round was good. A nice size garden for children and dogs.”
“Came in for a Sunday roast today. The food was absolutely to die for with great friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Highly recommended”
“Delicious hearty pub food boasting large portions to feed the eyes and packed with flavour. Recommended to family friends and now they go as much as we do! • Good location, has parking • Nice relaxing atmosphere”
“Can't praise this restaurant highly enough! Always have a lovely time here. Food is divine, staff are attentive and pricing is reasonable. Management will go above and beyond to support you and ensure your experience with La Dolce Vita is a positive one. Thank you for everything x”
“Amazing meal tonight, had such a lovely server. Sammy was so friendly and very good at giving recommendations! I think she needs a payrise! Definately get the grilled chicken!”
“Lovely lunch in here today, very helpful stuff, especially Jason who was working his sock off like an absolute ledgend. He was making sure everyone was happy and was very quick with service.”
“Wow!! What a wonderful lunch we had. Beautiful setting, excellent service and exceptional food, what more could you ask for ! I have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant.”
“Had table for 10 last night for our mum's surprise 80th birthday. No pre order was required so everyone could choose on the night. Choice of normal or some Xmas options. The service was second to none. All drinks brought to table. Sean who looked after us was absolutely fantastic, a joy to have serving us. Made for a fun night and stepped in to take photos of the family. All the food was brought out in a good time, all hot, nothing was forgotten. Clearing service also seamless so a shout out to the young lady who was serving and clearing dishes. We all agreed it was a wonderful evening, lovely clean setting and I'd recommend to anyone. Thank you all at the white rabbit for making mum's 80th special.”
“How can you end a perfect weekend with your beautiful wife, and your moronic puppy? I'd say a Sunday roast, with a smooth Jazz trio playing some chilled and musically wonderful tunes. The food and service was excellent, pretty much all the staff (and most customers) greeted us and our puppy as if we were family. We will be back, what a wonderful establishment. If I could give an extra star, I would.”
“What a fantastic pub this is!! Visited with my family for a Sunday Roast for my girlfriend's birthday. Staff were all lovely and attentive! Food was great. Atmosphere was ideal for a cold, winter Sunday. And may I make note that it was so refreshing to see the owners speaking to and treating the staff well. Rubs off on customers well - and is a fundamental basic that far too many other establishments get wrong. Lamb shank was great!! Sunday roast was slightly small but very tasty. Will be back again soon, thanks for looking after us guys.”
“Very lovely pub in the heart of hedge end. Very good food and reasonably priced also a great beer selection. Staff are very accommodating and friendly.”
“We visited The Bridge Inn today, for a celebratory 90th birthday lunch, with our Mum. The restaurant was busy when we arrived and there was a lovely atmosphere. Liv was our waitress and she looked after us really well. In fact, all the staff were friendly and welcoming. The service was excellent, attentive but not overly so. We ordered drinks while we looked at the menu, which was quite varied and well laid out. We chose our mains and we didn’t have to wait very long before the food was served, nice and hot. A couple of us had the steak and ale pie, which was delicious! Two others had chicken dishes, which were very tasty too, and one of us had the special venison burger, which was amazing! Deserts followed, including sticky toffee pudding, chocolate brownies, and apple tart, all of which were absolutely delicious. James was our chef today, and we got to chat with him, briefly, after our meals. The prices were very reasonable indeed, and the service charge wasn’t added automatically, like many restaurants, but we didn’t hesitate to add our own cash tip, as the whole experience was just perfect. Definitely a birthday lunch to remember, and I’d highly recommend a visit to The Bridge Inn, at Shawford.”
“A standard marina cafe, I thought - until the food came out ... delicious! Good portion size, very tasty and excellent value for money.”
“HarBAR on 6th, a rooftop bar in the Southampton Harbour Hotel, offers scenic views of the marina and lively atmosphere, but some find the food overpriced and service inconsistent. Reviews are mixed, with some praising the cocktails, DJ, and friendly staff, while others mention slow service and issues with food quality”
“The shared appetizer had super craveable items like the fried small fish and calamari. The pasta was super tasty with excellent bacon. The staff was very attentive and mindful for us! The restaurant itself was also quite cozy and had a bit of a rustic feel to it.”
“We needed a cold drink and a sit down during our visit to Romsey. The Phoenix stood centre stage on the high street. Not very alluring from the outside but just what we needed on the inside. A lovely chatty young lady served us a pint of ale and a lime and soda for a really good price compared to other establishments in the south of England. She chatted whilst she poured the drinks too which also makes a difference to me. Relatively quiet we found a table away from the bar and settled down. A typical old fashioned pub, nothing special, wooden floors, basic tables and chairs, 80s music playing in the background, quirky wall paper, nothing special but it had something, it had the ability to talk to your companion, it felt comfortable, not quite sure what it was but it definitely had something, maybe just the ambiance, who knows. If we were in Romsey again we would definitely pass through its doors again.”
