“Lovely little restaurant, good was insanely delicious, everything came out fresh and hot. Food came out very fast left like no more than 15mins. Child's pizza was lovely my child ate the whole thing. And said the icecream was nice. Staff (blonde lady on entrance) super friendly and very helpful. We are definitely returning 10/10 in all areas.”

“Fabulous location a stones throw from the golf course and cricket ground. Really close to Newcastle and not a million miles from attractions like Waterworld or Alton Towers. The main draw though is the strawberry picking nearby. You cant escape the rural location when the 12 and 13 year old tractor boys walk around. The food though and the decor are first class. Whilst sitting waiting we watched 10 or 12 different meals come out and we could have ate every single one. A big recommendation from me.”

“The White lion is a hidden gem, I only discovered it recently. Two real ales and all the other lagers you come to expect. It's very clean inside and out, a well kept pub. Food is served but I haven't tried it yet. Large beer garden to the side, and a covered over area with seating. Well worth a visit.”

“I love this chippy, it's about as good as it gets and I've been going for as long as I can remember (if they were open in the 80's then for that long). Back when my grandparents were alive I use to go and get fish and chips for us all and then sit and talk to them around their kitchen table. Now we have moved up here I'm getting to do the same thing with my little family. Keep up the good work I love your fresh fish and chips and you have never once given bad service.”

Jonjo set up and served from the back garden - set up and set down was very smooth, the service was excellent and the pizza was amazing! “Went today 1/10/25 for carvery lunch. Not been the Plough for a couple of years. The bar staff friendly. The carvery selection was excellent and nice and hot. Also I noticed the server of carvery was checking the meats with a thermometer and writing it down. The waitress Emma was very friendly. We will recommend the Plough and most certainly be returning again.”

“We had Sunday lunch today for 7 people. Everyone had a different Sunday Roast that was on offer. All were very nicely presented on hot plates. I had the pork belly that was very tender & tasty. Some of us had turkey that was very moist & plentiful. The beef was very nice & was cooked to your liking, the lamb was tender. The selection of vegetables hot & nicely cooked We also had some extras, pigs in blankets, red cabbage & cauliflower cheese all really nice. The service was very good, friendly & helpful. Was a very relaxing afternoon with friend's. Would highly recommend the Peacock for a lovely meal in nice relaxing surroundings. Will be going back for sure. “2025 Works Christmas meal with 39 of us planned well in advance. We were pleasantly impressed with welcoming staff and tasty food, the meals were hot and generous portions. Even with the large group to manage the staff kept smiling while matching meals with the right names. Each course came pretty swiftly so everyone had food at similar timings. A separate server sorted everyone with drinks throughout. On the whole a solid experience. We learnt later the meals weren't a seasonal menu - but a weekly roast which you could have the same on another visit, which i may come back with the family to be fair. I can't thank Junior and the team enough! They went above and beyond throughout and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The food was great as always.
