“Visited the Windmill Cafe & Bistro and found a part of Portugal in Newcastle Under Lyme. The traditional cuisine is delicious. Lots of choice from gorgeous fish and meat dishes to a variety of just wonderful tapas bites, soup and loaves of freshly cooked traditional breads. Lovely atmosphere for relaxed eating. Owners genuine foodies and friendly.”

“Superb selection of the best quality fish, shellfish and smoked fish all reasonably priced. The staff are all really friendly and knowledgeable if you need any advice on cooking etc and will fillet and prep the fish however you need it.”

This means we won't be visiting again as we can go to places like that much closer to home. For dessert I had the walnut sponge with syrup and vanilla ice-cream, and my wife had the orange sponge with syrup and vanilla ice-cream, with deserts were excellent. “A favourite local pub. Proper pub, lovely welcome, great atmosphere. Lots of parking opposite. Update Sept 23 still a brilliant pub. The beer garden has been refreshed and is a lovely area to drink. Still a favourite.”

After setting up the caravan at a local site, I called in just after seven o'clock for three large chips, three large plain sausages, large peas and large curry sauce to feed me and the family. We all agreed the food was excellent. Will definitely be calling in again on our next visit to Leek. Highly recommended.”

“absolute treasure in centre of Buxton! (honestly nearly didn’t pop in but sooooo glad we did) ! Delicious matcha latte and THE BEST GF Vegan cake I have ever eaten: Almond and pistachio torte. Staff are lovely and friendly and (NB we called in to a Pudding Emporium around the corner to enquire if we could have a cuppa - got extremely frosty reception) so happy to have discovered Chakra longe!”
