βA favourite local pub. Proper pub, lovely welcome, great atmosphere. Lots of parking opposite. Update Sept 23 still a brilliant pub. The beer garden has been refreshed and is a lovely area to drink. Still a favourite.β
βFor the people of Werrington and surrounding areas, this is a traditional hardware shop, packing thousands of items into a relatively small space. They ALWAYS have what you need. They even do Calor gas refulls/exchanges for the BBQ. Stop going to B&Q, this place likely has what you need.β
βCool place, lovely people, great musicβ
βThis place is lovely. We reserved two of the units - The Smithy and The Pump House. The Pump House is dog friendly. The units are well furnished and comfortable. The rooms are finished around what appear to be the original beams. I can confirm their very solid authenticity having verified it with my head on my very first morning. Lesson leaned. Both kitchens were very nice and well appointed. I wasnβt super impressed with the pots and pans but I managed. We made use of the games and puzzles. We will definitely be back. The area is beautiful. The cows are curious. The dog was very happy. The local area has lots to offer.β

βA Saturday night with a difference but oh what a night ! Weβre from Lichfield , our friends from Preston . We were all staying at Manor Hotel in Alsager and were discussing how we were going to spend Sat evening - stay in Hotel for a meal , book a restaurant in Alsager et al . I said what about a Northern Soul night at Verdin club ( Iβd done a bit of pre planning! ) - bit of an expensive taxi journey but hey ho ( more of that later ) . We were all onside with that and all agreed that weβd get to Moulton first and eat there or Northwich. Taxi booked and off we go - the longest 18 mile cross country journey Iβve ever undertaken ( not sure if we ever managed an A road ) . Eventually stop right outside a decent looking pub in Moulton only to discover that they didnβt do food nor did the other pub in the village . Weβd already had a few drinks and were starving by this time . The girls walked down to the Chinese and me and my mate headed over to the Verdin where we polished off 2 pies apiece. The music was wonderful as was the crowd in there - very friendly lot all round and many thanks for making us feel so welcome . Taxis there and back cost us Β£105 ( return was Β£60 up front !!) but , against that , where can four of you dine in such style for β
βVery good staff very helpful good service and good drink thanks to all the staff for the food and help once again thanksβ

A big thanks to Grant and all his staff. I would definitely use the Sydney arms againβ
βWe stayed here overnight on the way to a funeral in Cumbria, so we were not in the best spirits. We had a lovely meal, the food was beautiful cooked. It is a pub, but the food was better than some restaurants I have been to. All nicely presented and everything nice and clean. The public toilets were also really clean which gives me reassurance about the other areas. I have seen some negative reviews of the staff, but we found them to be very attentive and when there was no customer interaction they set to work cleaning, which was lovely to see. They run a quiz on Thursdays which we would happily go to. We stayed over for one night, everything was perfect, but I will look to review this separately.β
βA group of us, from Fenton Chess Club, went for our annual Christmas meal. The food was excellent as was the service. I would certainly recommend it to my friendsβ
βCanβt comment on the rooms as we didnβt stay. We stopped at The Huntsman as we were passing through Cheadle on the way home on a Sunday and were not disappointed. We were greeted warmly by the staff and shown to the lodge with lovely festive decor. The Sunday lunch was a generous size and was delicious! Our children had a wood fired pizza which was equally as delicious. Sad we didnβt get to stay for dessert due to time constraints but would definitely recommend to anyone passing through.β
βWelcoming and good atmosphere. Separate dining area from bar area. Food was amazing, service was great. Nicely decorated.β
βCanβt rate the food at the Rose and Crown high enough for the cost. Really top notch quality for the cost. I had the large fish and chips, the wife had the small and the daughter small gammon, egg, pineapple and chips. All of the special menu. 3 plates, 3drinks, Β£45β¦.bargain!β
βWonderful, wonderful bar. The DJ is out of this world!! Me and a couple of pals had dinner and drinks here on a Saturday night. I didnβt realise the place turns into a full blown nighty C after dark. Food was amazing, service too. But, the DJ was something else! Got chatting with the DJ who names himself βJoey the Axeβ (I think). He was brilliant. Read the room with his music, and was very very friendly. Played all of our requests without issue and made the night very special. Even gave me a lift home and walked me to my door!! Iβll never forget you Joey the Axe.β
