“We were greeted with a smile and taken to our table immediately. Advised to order at the bar when we were ready. When we ordered the young girl couldn’t have been more helpful really made you feel that your order mattered. The food was served very quickly and was delicious. The only problem was that we were too full to order dessert. We will have starters and dessert next time.”

“I've called in a few times with my partner to play a few games of pool, since it's been under new management. it's a much more welcoming environment, the staff/landlords are great and the general atmosphere etc is friendly. It's a good pub. If you enjoy a game of pool and a decent pint and a local feeling from the staff then I'd recommend the builders arms. Dan.”

“The Rock Inn really shows off the best Porthcawl has to offer. Having arrived early before the restaurant opened a queue had already started to form with egar eyes and empty bellies on full display! when the doors finally opened we were off! As we were entering we saw a few groups being turned away as it was fully booked, so as a warning book ahead or risk missing out on a solid Sunday dinner experience! we were greeted by the staff as we entered and promptly taken to our seats the staff were friendly and attentive. Thanks guys! We were offered menus and having been given just the right amount of time to examine it along came a happy, friendly face ready to take our orders. I went for the Crab as a stater and the Lamb as the main course and boy was I in for an experience. The starters came, a golden crispy coating covering a centre of soft delicate crab! the perfect amount you expect from a starter enough to make your mouth water as you sit and wait for the mains. For the main we had the lamb, it came juciey, succulent with a bit of a bite which I love! not chewy but enough texture to know your eating meat. Accompanying the lamb was a large crispy and fluffy yorkie of course home made followed by golden roast potatoes and a roast carrot and parsnip both full flavour! The gravy was something new, a very pale gravy hard to see on the food but boy was it packed with richness and depth! I normally like a dark, thick gravy, but this did not disappoint. you could almost feel the love and care put into the food. 5 stars all around just make sure you book!! bravoooo! “Once again had an enjoyable meal here (16.5.25). The food was all lovely as usual. Our waitress Laura was really good and very patient with us all (there were 11 in our party). They had a special menu for gluten-free and also one for lactose. The management were also friendly, lovely people who made us feel very welcome.”

“We come here in a group to watch the international rugby union matches. The food, beers and drinks are great, and as it’s packed on match days the atmosphere is excellent. There are plenty of large TV screens to choose from however the one on the wall before you go out to the garden area has had a very poor quality picture for a long time. Generally the sound speakers are badly positioned and the audio sound is poorly synched/coordinated with the screen action and the volume is not loud enough. These systems would benefit from the services of a professional to review and evaluate the quality of the screens and audio functionality and to upgrade the system to provide a better sport viewing quality experience for regular and loyal customers.”

“We had a great meal here! My steak was cooked to perfection and was delicious. Lovely friendly atmosphere and the staff were all very helpful, particularly the young lady Kaitlyn who served our food. Nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be returning!”

“We first went to the Dunvant in early spring and have now made it our regular. The pub is very welcoming with a great vibe/atmosphere. It's very clean and the staff make sure the tables are cleared and wiped as soon as the guests have departed. The staff are so welcoming, attentive and efficient. All the staff are amazing! however, a special mention must go to Lauren who is always on the ball and seems keep everything under control. Also the 2 lads Tom and Osian who are so helpful and really seem to be happy in their work. Thank you all, you're doing a fantastic job.”

“Good option Wetherspoon. Great food, great selection of beer. Fish and chips are tasty and well cooked, I took beans instead of peas. My wife's gammon cooked to her liking. Plenty of seating. Toilets upstairs and car park not large but great pub with good atmosphere”

“We got here a little early to find our table was already setup and waiting for us, there were a family of 4 we all sat down to enjoy our lunch. The staff promptly took our drinks order which took a few minutes to arrive whilst we were all browsing through the menus. I placed the order. We didn't have to wait to long for the starters to be served. The starters were cleared. The mains followed shortly after, and it was great. Chicken was covered in BBQ/Bacon & loads of cheese, Deep dished Lasagne & a double stacked Burger all served with chips. We were asked several times if all was OK - it was, and drinks orders were taken when needed and arrived within a few minutes as well. I cleared my plate and finished off a few others - and left satisfied.”

“We recently found the Cockett Inn while looking for somewhere to say goodbye to my mum after her funeral. I cannot praise it enough, the buffet provided was excellent with no complaints and the welcome and the staff were outstanding. I cannot thank them enough for everything they did.”
