“Even though I've lived in Bridgend for 32 years, I don't venture into the town that often. This was my first time visiting CL and wasn't disappointed by the food or service. It was a Saturday late morning and it was obvious that the place is very popular.”

“This is our second time eating here after recently moving to the area. First time we both had steak and it was faultless, I eat my steak blue and the waitress assured me the chef could do it (I'm always a little hesitant) she was bang on the money it was amazing i could of used a butter knife!!! this time my husband had lasagne and I had the belly pork, yet again it was beautiful. Hats of to the chef!!! All the staff are friendly and happy to help. We will definitely be back to this little gem... definitely recommend it.”

“Stayed here for just £65 and was genuinely impressed by the value for money. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent – tasty, well-prepared, and generous portions. The staff were friendly and welcoming across the board, from check-in to the restaurant. The shower had perfect pressure (a rare find!) and the hotel is ideally located with easy access to some stunning beaches. Would absolutely stay again – a great find!”

“Great for contractors working in the area food and shops close by, free parking and rooms with external entrance for smokers or nightshift workers. Polite staff with regular room cleaning. Good pressure to the showers and very reasonable room rates. Happy all round.”

“Ate at the restaurant twice this week and can only describe the food as WOW 10/10. Staff are very friendly and the chef is a wizard with food. The Rara Gosht Punjabi is the best curry I have ever eaten. My Wife informed me yhat her steak was also fantastic. Can't recommend this enough.”

“Lovely fried breakfast. Went for the large with an extra egg. Decent value for money. One of the best fry ups in Bridgend (along with Dragon Cafe) They also have a great Thai menu which is fantastic, all of the dishes highly recommended The whole market is air conditioned so great in the summer. Sometimes they close early so opening hours might not be correct.”

“We recently had our works Christmas party here. Lovely venue that is very warm and welcoming. Staff were very polite and accommodating. Entertainment on the night was good and the food was fantastic. Would definitely stay here again.”

“We regularly have Sunday Lunch in Leicester's restaurant at the Great House and it never fails to impress. The quality of local ingredients is extremely good and cooked to perfection. However last night we tried the A la Carte evening menu and once again we were not disappointed. Absolutely superb. All the staff are always friendly and polite. Would definitely recommend.”

“Stopped in for lunch as we were walking along the beach. Bit of a trek from the actual beach itself but well worth it! The cheese & ham melt comes with a choice of white or brown bread, it also comes with salad and chips! The sandwich was HUGE and the ham/cheese was really packed in, overall it was delicious. We sat inside, there were tables outside but it was a bit hot - you can sit a table of 6, 2 x tables of 4 and a table of 2. So if it’s busy I’d imagine it can be tough to get a seat. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for some lunch down this way though!”

“We were greeted with a smile and taken to our table immediately. Advised to order at the bar when we were ready. When we ordered the young girl couldn’t have been more helpful really made you feel that your order mattered. The food was served very quickly and was delicious. The only problem was that we were too full to order dessert. We will have starters and dessert next time.”

“A warm, welcoming guest house and the owner Hal was so kind and helpful. The room was a lovely size, clean, comfortable and had everything I needed. The breakfast was in a beautiful dining room and it was so light and airy. The only thing I wasn't 100% on was the mattress on the bed as a spring mattress it wasn't fully comfortable to sleep on but I did get a decent sleep so all was good. I would definitely stay again”

“Harrys is the loveliest little resteraunt in the town. The staff are always so warm and welcoming, very accommodating. And I believe I’ve tried pretty much everything on the menu and I’m never disappointed. The quality of the food is so good, I’m never waiting long, and it’s so reasonably priced. I’m always treated and served well when I go and the food is always wonderful! Many thanks to the Harries family for always giving me a great experience. It’s where I take all my friends whenever I’m in town! The other day I had my first dinner there and I couldn’t believe how tasty it was. The portion sizes are good also, it filled my whole plate. Really great meat and gravy!”

“Definitely one of the best Chinese takeaway I’ve ever been to. When talking on the phone, the employee spoke with a polite and respectful tone in their voice. When I went to collect my order, I was greeted with a welcoming smile as well as a friendly atmosphere. The crispy beef was made with perfection and it tasted amazing. The house-special chow mein was the best of all without a doubt. In addition to that they prepared my order very quickly. Overall good service and food, I highly recommended going to this Chinese and I would go there again in the future.”

“My family have been ordering here for years and years, never disappoints not once. Delivers quickly and food is always piping hot, fresh and tasty. Atmosphere in shop is lovely with great decoration and well looked after plants and staff are friendly. My one issue is the plain chips are a bit dry, but we just get salt and chilli chips instead and they are the best so it works out. Thank you Golden Bowl!”
