“Been to the navigation a few times for drinks and food. Atmosphere is great, food is delicious cannot fault this place at all. Land lady and landlord are great, also the staff. Entertainment is always fantastic too. Can’t recommend this place enough Great friendly local pub.”

“First time visiting this pub. We were greeted with a very warm welcome. They had a BBQ on but we didn't eat as we had already eaten before arriving. They had a live Elvis Tribute Show on Karl Memphis that really made the night what a fantastic Show will be goi g back again sometime the regulars made us feel so welcome there. Thank you everyone”

“Had our son’s birthday party here today and can’t fault the service we had, Ryan was so helpful with extra tables when needed and even helped with the rubbish. The pub is decorated beautifully and can’t recommend enough. Thank you”

“Me and my partner called in here on a Saturday night and ate the most beautiful Indian cuisine. It was cooked to perfection and to our taste. We didn't want it too hot and had no problems whatsoever, as the chef listened to our concerns and made it beautiful. I'd never had the bread before called paratha and was pleasantly surprised. Highly recommended.”

“I dont normally write reviews, but based on the some of the negative comments on here , I felt a need too. Firstly, if we dont support venues like this . They will be gone! The landlady was very friendly, and its not much of an ask to throw money in a tray for the band (who had travelled all the way from cardiff). Finally, James Oliver Band are really amazing. Blessed to see such a great artist in a unique setting. We will definitely be back for more.”

“One if the most friendly old school pubs I've been in especially if your into real ales which is regularly changed to give you plenty of variety. I have used the pub over the last 12 years and i am now residing locally The staff and management are warm and friendly the choice of Cider Lager and real ales are great definately worth a visit.Ps Stat evenings have a classic kareoke disco”

“We visited here on a recommendation and glad we did. Service and food were both excellent and good value for money. Don't let the exterior and decor put you off and the ambient music could be improved from UK pop to some more fitting India music. But I would let the food speak for itself. They don't have a licence to sell alcohol so you can if you wish take your own. On our visit on a Saturday early evening we didn't need a booking but as the evening progressed it got busier. With many regular diners and family groups. All in all a very enjoyable meal. Thanks guys.”

“Great pub with delicious food. I was there for the second time and I was still nicely surprised with the taste of meals. Portions are big, the food is freshly made and is nicely decorated on the plates . The staff are friendly and the pub is clean and tidy. Summerhouse has plenty of car park spaces and also the garden with the tables and sits outside. Behind the garden area there are meadows with wild flowers and free roaming horses. I highly recommend this pub. It's a shame for me that this pub is not close to Coventry where I live.”

“Love this pub! A proper local, I call it the Winchester to my mates as it's a proper pub. They have a TV for the footy and a bandit, with a decent pool table. The smoking area is the best I've seen in the UK, tiled, covered and every time I've been out there I've had a good natter with the fellow smokers. Good people, good crowd!”

“We recently booked a room with Stephen at the Whimsey, for a family gathering after our mother's funeral service, with the buriel just around the corner at Willenhall Lawn Cemetery. Stephen was so understanding to our situation and spoke with us a few times prior to check exactly what we would like. The Whimsey supplied all the catering which consisted of soup & sandwiches, curry & rice, also tea & coffee, at a very reasonable price. We had the whole pub to ourselves from 1-3pm, until he opened, however we could stay as long as we liked. We would like to thank Stephen and all at the Whimsey for making this day so special. We totally recommend this venue for any family events”

“Very warm welcome from the staff and a great location for this for this very charming hotel. I found the decor fascinating with an eclectic mix of paintings, statutes and vintage furniture in every corner and wall. Our double on suite room was finished off with a very comfy 4 poster bed! The staff can't do enough for you, everything is just an as away. The manager (Martin) was very professional and looked after us throughout.”

“booked in on the way up last minute as did not know what time I would arrive, Receptionist on the phone was excellent and answered all my questions. Arrived and was greated with a nice smile and was shown the room which was comfortable and clean, Went down and enjoyed a lovely duck breast with rice and a nice pint. Location is great just off the motorway . Totally diamond of a find would highly recommend this as a stop over.”

“Beautifully located on the banks of the River Severn, however, nasty winding lane passing Severn Valley Railway to access the pub. Standard pub grub elevated to meet dietary requirements. Even making homemade onion rings in gluten free batter! Great prices for the standard of food. They could easily charge much more. Eat inside or out on the deck. Help yourself to cutlery and condiments, pay at the bar and take a numbered spoon to your seat. Friendly atmosphere. Great, safe play area for children and pygmy goats to say hello to. Food was such good value and quality that we went back the following week to eat again!”
