Intimate dining in Bath

“This was my first time visiting Bath, and I found this restaurant while researching the town, no disappointment at all! The food was amazing, and the service was spot on. I’d recommend the courgette, it might look like a regular zucchini in the photo, but trust me, it’s incredible! Another favorite of mine was the crispy pork belly. The black beans were a little salty for me, but they pair perfectly with the pork, which was cooked to perfection. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Bath!”

“Absolutely fantastic in every way. The service was excellent the food was exceptional. We had a voucher for birthday Prosecco and a voucher for some money off. The staff applied the 12.5% service charge after all the discount had come off which is crazy as it left them with a very poor £1.50 tip! Sort that out management. We obviously left a proper tip as the servers, Tillie and Hannah were great and the food (fish pie) best I ever had! Reasonable price for the quality. Better than the Ivy!”

“You can’t get an impression of the place from the front door, which is nondescript to say the least. Once you’ve made it up the stairs though, it opens out into a very nice dining area (impressive ceiling and murals). Food was excellent and the service very good. I didn’t catch our waiter’s name, but he was very jolly.”

“What a find! A gorgeous intimate restaurant in the centre of Cheltenham, quietly serving up some of the best food in the area. There were several of us so we had most of the menu between us and every single dish was a winner! The wine list is brilliant and the house sparkling wine is divine! The service was utterly charming and we felt very looked after. Thank you!”

“Delicious street food, fresh & affordable. I loved both beef chilli & chicken. I ordered one meal deal and they took a pound off as a blue light discount. Quantity was enough for the two of us as we only wanted a light lunch. Really impressed with the flavours and the service on the whole!”

“We had accidentally booked for the wrong day and they were very accommodating considering our mistake............I will say, it was Absolutely stunning. The food was incredible and the service was top notch. It wasn't cheap but then we didn't expect it to be considering how beautiful the food was. “It's our go to restaurant for steak even though we're not local to it it's worth the trip. Always melt in the mouth steak. Puddings are good too, have had the Creme brûlée and the rice pudding. Big portions and good flavours.”

“One of the most charming pubs in Bath. Their signature pies are top notch every single time, but so are their sausages and all the other wonderful things they pile onto your plate! Their gravy flavours compliment the pies ans sausages so well. They also sale local ales and ciders. Staff are friendly and talkative. Unfortunately you can't book but this place is so worth the visit because the food and atmosphere are fantastic!”

“There are lots of good walks near Hinton Charterhouse. I would recommend that, like us, you make the Stag your pit-stop of choice. The welcome is always warm and the food is really excellent. My friend had a Cajun Chicken and prawn special, which he said was delicious. Because I know how good it is, I went for ‘Old faithful’ - ham, 2 eggs and chips. It was to-die-for, as always. Home cooked ham packed with flavour, tender as you like, thick carved and plentiful; oh, and runny eggs! It’s a sensational lunch. It won’t be long before we find ourselves back here, I’m sure. UPDATE - We just visited for a Sunday roast. I can honestly say it’s probably the best pub roast I’ve ever had. You certainly won’t leave hungry. Highly recommended!”

The waiters display passion and dedication which I really appreciated. Sitting near the bar and watching the bartender carefully make and serve drinks was a delight. “We took my parents to the Elder for a very belated Christmas present and it was a fantastic evening in so many ways: some of the best food we’ve ever had combined with very attentive but relaxed service with a smile. “Newton Farm Cafe and Restaurant Bath UK. It’s very popular place even far from town. I've been here many times after walking through the beautiful landscape of Bath Spa University at Newton Park campus. We always had lovely meals and a lovely time here at Newton Farm cafe/ restaurant. Organic ingredients from their farm. Beautiful location, delicious food and a proper coffee. Excellent friendly service from everyone members. I love this place and highly recommend it to everyone! See you again soon.”

“Very lovely restaurant with friendly staff, wooden oven and plenty of space outside. Me and my partner had 2 signature pizzas and were absolutely delicious! Fresh and tasty ingredients, dough well worked and cooked! The bruschetta were a let down, small and not great for the price!!! Overall a fantastic pizza place! Well done guys.”

“Visited for our wedding anniversary, absolutely fantastic food and service. We had the tasting menu, every course was delicious and we ended up taking a full takeaways worth home as well so definitely worth the price! The staff were brilliant, they even went as far as to tailor the tasting for my pregnant wife and topped the night off with complimentary mocktails. My only issue is that we're not local enough to make it a regular visit. If you're local or visiting Bath, definitely get in here.”
