“We had a meal here a couple days ago and couldn’t fault anything especially the service, our waitress was excellent. Our waitress made everything easy from ordering food/drinks, to paying the bill and even recommended a dish of the menu which was delightful. We stayed for a few drinks afterwards in the drinking area. The atmosphere was great and wasn’t to loud or to quiet, a very welcoming establishment and lovely bar staff. The biggest plus is there is a great choice of lager/beer. All in all a great time and would definitely recommend to anyone.”

“Spent a lovely lunch time in the Pelican with family, food was purchased and it was some of the best pub grub we gave ever gad, well cooked full of flavours, all meals arrived together, piping hot, good quality ingredients, very impressed with service and atmosphere within the Pelican, I highly recommend there Burger it's fabulous, but so was the Breakfast, Gammon etc etc we all had different dishes but each one cooked to perfection and very well enjoyed. 10 out of 10 for everything, I your wanting food in Chew Magna pop into Pelican you won't be sorry and you will enjoy there menue greatly.”

“I’ve eaten here before and felt confident ordering the steak pie, mum had the chicken and leak pie. On this occasion the pastry on the pie bases and lids was soft/soggy and we didn’t eat it. We did let the server know but said we’d eat the rest of the meal as we were time restricted today. Glad we had 40% off though as paying full price would have definitely sent both pies back. 2nd review - Sept 25 We were invited back by the manager. This visit was totally different. We both had the pies again and this time they were fabulous. Crusty pastry, veg was good, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. On this visit we would definitely eat here again. The menu was vas with a board of chefs specials, the food classic British with a Whopping size Piece of fish for the fish and chips they had liver and onions on offer as well as a all day Breakfast, our food was prompt from ordering and was really good the best part being affordable. Staff were brilliant polite and friendly. Atmosphere was great also. If you want a no frills classic British pub it's a great place to visit. Will return for sure.”

“We planned to pop into Frankie and Benny's next door but found them closed for re-furb. We won't be having breakfast at f&b again! Never thought of Chiquito for breakfast before but it's awesome. All the food is freshly grilled rather than fried and it actually looks better than the pictures advertising it. Taste was superb. If you've not tried it I highly recommend. The waitress that served us was lovely and checked regularly that we were happy.”

“It was perfect. The party of 11 people were all seated together in a lovely private area. They allowed us to put up decorations for my 70 th birthday celebration. I think we all had different meals, but they came out together and we're all piping hot. I had the belly pork and it was simply delicious, I definitely need the recipe for the gravy! The staff were attentive but not pushy. It was a really lovely occasion made even more special by the staff and the food . Well done to you all.”
