“I returned to Rugby from Canada for a funeral a week before Christmas 2022. I had a steak and kidney pie and chips, the next day, fish and chips. Both meals were as good as I remember from my youth. The staff were terrific and funny. The generous fish is consist with the name “Extra Fish Bar.””

“Really good family pub. I don’t normally leave reviews unless I’m particularly impressed and I am here. Ticks all the boxes, play area, colouring and crayons for the kids. A decent pint, nice traditional but well kept decor with indoor and outdoor background music. The food is really good and incredibly cheap & great value. The icing on the cake is the staff and service. Young well mannered and helpful people who are a credit to the establishment. Well done, We’l definitely be back.”

“I hadn’t been here for quite some time so I decided to order takeaway. Although food came around an hours time after ordering, it was still hot, tasty and delicious. They also gave me a complimentary gift which is appreciated!”

“Me and my friend use this as our starting point for an evening walk around Draycote. Twice before we've had the genetic fish & chips/batter sausage & chips. Both times have been delicious and the staff very friendly. Last night, decided to go for a change and ordered Kofta from the wall menu. I was given a choice of sauces and asked whether I wanted salad. I went with mint yoghurt and decided against the salad. Kofta was truly delicious. Freshly made to order (which we hadn't grasped at the time, so we were wondering why on earth it was taking so long) Will definitely order it again, but, maybe see if we can call ahead to order next time to alleviate the waiting time. The photo isn't the best as it was dark outside but hopefully you can gauge the portion size. HUGE! Just a word of advice, it would be useful to advise customers at the point of ordering that there is a wait on it as it's cooked to order.”

“Came across this hidden gem on the high street earlier this night. Coming from a South Asian background, this cuisine tasted like with what I'd expect from my mother's cooking and hence I was compelled to leave a review! Shout out to the chef for his culinary skills and the front of house for their outstanding hosting and hospitality! Definitely coming back again......”

“Ordered the Crispy Shredded Beef and it was absolutely spot on. Perfectly crispy, full of flavour and not greasy at all — exactly how it should be. The sauce was rich and balanced, with just the right amount of sweetness and a little kick. Portion size was generous and everything arrived hot and fresh. One of the best Chinese takeaways in Rugby. Will definitely order again!”

“Stayed here because I was heading to SWB Motorsports, its less than a mile away. The Dun Cow was busy when we stayed, maybe due to Christmas, but more likely because the staff were so friendly, despite being busy. We had evening meals and breakfast - fantastic choice of food, happy to make small changes on the menu to meet your needs, very alert to any allergens. Our room, the Draycote, could accommodate a family if required, had a very clean and enormous shower room and the most gloriously uneven, quirky floor due to the age of the building. The bed was really comfy (I like a firm mattress) which helped me sleep quite soundly, it covered up the only downside (my husband heard the traffic) of being alongside a busy crossroads.”

Delicious Bangladeshi food, nothing standard here all homemade and delicious, an owner who really cares and entertains through your meal, i can't recommend this place enough, we will be back when next in the area!”

“Staff members were so friendly. Especially the waiting staff you meet for breakfast, one in particular Caroline and Anna the cook. They both had the time to interact with my partner, myself and our 2 year old son. Caroline even came and sat with us and told us to go get some breakfast while she helped feed our son, gave him colouring pencils, drew with him getting to know new names etc .. Anna who is Polish I think she would always greet our son with “good morning, baba!” Since we’re now back home our son has never forgotten and he would run up and say mummy Anna says “good morning, baba!” Next door to Premier Inn there is TGI FRIDAYS. We got our dinner in there on the last night. Food was amazing 10/10 but expensive. Make sure if you eat here and you’re staying at the Premiere Inn next to it you tell the staff to get 20% off. Location isn’t bad up the road you have McDonald’s and Asda. Although it wasn’t easy to find Asda but after a few tries of searching and getting lost we found it lol. Other than that it’s a great place to stay 10/10 No noise, beds were so comfortable, top notch.”

“On Saturday the 19th 15 of us ordered from a campsite (local'ish) in the middle of nowhere pretty much and our order came hot, within a reasonable time and everything was correct with the order, also the delivery driver was very friendly and served us with a smile...and too top all that off, the food was delicious and the prices are incredibly good! Definitely be ordering again”

“Great takeaway! Ordered 2 chicken kormas and they were great, very coconut-y and quite sweet, but i like it that way! Partner got onion bhajis and hes very happy with them, theyre not super dry like from other places. Delivery to Long Lawford took about 50 minutes. Recommend! “Food is good, staff are welcoming. The ambience is nice. Best place in Rugby to get some spicy South Indian dishes like Dosa, Idli, Vada, kuththu parota and also North Indian dishes like Naan, Parotta. It has good options for vegetarians and non vegetarians. Limited beverages available like Beer, Vodka, wine, fruit juice and cool drinks.”

“The food was delicious and really obviously fresh. The sweet and sour chicken was the best I've ever had, and I eat a lot of Chinese food! The lady who took my order was really friendly and polite, as was the gentleman who delivered my food. Delivery was also really quick. I think I've found my new favourite Chinese takeaway!”

“Amazing fish and chips and one of the best battered sausages I’ve ever had. Start off with the fish, fresh Grimsby fish so soft and tender melts in your mouth with a light thin crispy batter which doesn’t stick to the paper either! Next the chips are probably the best chippy chips I’ve had on a consistent level, they burn my fingers upon first touch and the steam that’s built up inside just makes the chips almost break into mash, lovely and soft every single time! Now the battered sausages, 90% of the time have been wonderfully crisp on the outside and steaming hot on inside, very good quality proper pork chippy sausage. Lastly forgot to mention it’s probably around 20% cheaper then most high street chippies, £2 battered sausages, £5 massive huge enough to feed 7 easy large chips(around 8 scoops) and £7 for the extra large haddock or cod. Forgot to mention the very authentic chippy curry sauce made to absolute perfection 100% of the time!£1.40 for a large! This place is a little gem I’d travel 20+ miles for this everytime it’s bang on! Thanks guys - Nick”

“Fantastic place for drinks and food. Needed a new place to go for a drink after I've visited every pub and restaurants in Coventry. I drove from Cov to Rugby and I bet, I wasn't disappointed. Great setting, large space, fantastic staff, and great meal. Oh, and the streetside view is marvellous. I will be ungrateful not to mention the spacious car park they've got. I highly recommend this pub.”

Revisited today 2 July 2025 menu has changed as with all other pizza express. Got to our favourite corner and was served promptly. Food is as lovely as the whole team. Wasn’t busy and just right.
