“We have recently sold two houses with AKS and I can't recommend them enough. From the first meeting with Andrew to every contact with all the team you know you have made the right choice and you are in safe hands. The team are professional, efficient and informative. We imagined things were going to be very stressful due to selling two houses at the same time. However, the team took all the stress out of it. What I would also add is Andrew at AKS recommended we list one of the houses at a much higher price than two other estate agents we had consulted, had already advised. We achieved a sale price of £60,000 above what the other estate agents had recommended. There were lots of the AKS team involved in our sales but big shout out to Andrew, Sam, Mikaela, Laura, Jodie and Lyndsay! What a team!! I would 100% recommend the AKS team!!”

“We arrived at Hayeswood Lodge under the cover of darkness thanks to a very accommodating late check in policy. Despite the late hour our host was there to greet us with a welcoming smile. We staggered into our room and were instantly thrilled to be in such beautiful surroundings. Cosy and welcoming, with some lovely decor touches - and the chocolate brownies just added that lovely extra touch! The room was clean, warm, very well equipped and extremely comfortable - the Smart TV with Netflix and Prime made relaxing after our drive perfect too. We collapsed happily in bed for a thoroughly restful sleep. Some wonderful homemade treats were provided for breakfast - packaged and bottled so thoughtfully to bring a smile as we opened each item. Homemade granola was delicious, we’d buy that by the sackful if we could! Lovely fresh homemade crumpets with a perfect portion of butter and homemade jam washed down with little bottles of fresh juice - what a way to start the day! We stepped outside to be greeted for the first time in daylight by the beautiful surroundings: peaceful, picturesque perfection! A lovely chat with our host Dan, then the dogs escorted us on a little stroll around the garden which was very relaxed and welcoming, we were lucky enough to see some last glimpses of summer beauty in the flowers and trees. We spent 2 nights at Hayeswood Lodge but could have happily stayed for a week. It was a gem of a find and perfect for a relaxed quiet break away from the madness of day to day life. 5 star accommodation, 5 star location and 5 star hosts Thank you!”

“We couldn’t be more impressed with the care and attention our doggies received at Buddy’s Boarding. We were especially nervous about our eldest dog, Peggy, as she’s never been in kennels before (our rescue, Risotto, is surprisingly resilient!). But from the moment we dropped them off, we felt confident that they were in safe, loving hands. The team clearly loves what they do, and it shows in every detail from the clean, secure facilities to the way they took the time to get to know our dogs’ personalities, routines, and needs. When we picked them up, it was clear they had not only been well looked after but were genuinely happy. The staff brought us to collect them, and our babies were happy, walked, fed, and smelling amazing! They reassured us about their stay and told us that Peggy had come out of her shell which is no easy feat for our Peg! They even remembered the reason for our trip and asked how it went, encouraging us to share pictures, a lovely personal touch. It’s such a relief to have a place we can trust completely, and we’re so happy we picked Buddys!”

“A really good place to go to get vaccum cleaners etc repaired, serviced and buy. The gentleman who runs the business is honest, hard working and committed to his business; he also gives an excellent service to his customers. If you support this business you'll never regret it as these types of of shops are fast dying out.”

“Everything was perfect! We stayed in Maple with our doggo, Loki. Everything that we needed was there on arrival waiting for us and the lodge was really clean. Self check in was quick and easy. Bumped into the maintenance man a few times who was really nice. Loki took a liking to him! Great views. Lots of nice walks nearby. If you want a nice Chinese - Lucky Dragon is stunning - best salt and pepper chips ever! The Greyhound was gorgeous for a lovely pub meal or a carvery. Great stay overall, highly reccomend.”

“A truly excellent place to stay - clean rooms with neat decoration, quiet location yet still very close to the city centre. Highly recommended for bikers due to the off street, high gated parking. I stay in derby about 4 times a year, and this will be my go to place! ( ps I have recommended the place to my work colleagues, who very often stay in the city!”

“I stayed at Dannah Farm Country House for a short solo getaway, and it turned out to be one of the most peaceful, restorative experiences I’ve had in a long time. From the moment I arrived, everything about the place invited calm—from the stunning countryside surroundings to the thoughtful details inside the accommodation. The room was spotless, cozy, and felt like it was designed to hold you gently through whatever kind of rest you needed. The private spa area was truly the highlight for me—soothing, quiet, and exactly what I didn’t know I needed. I spent time in the hot tub surrounded by stillness, and it felt like the world slowed down just enough to breathe again. The staff were warm and kind without ever being intrusive, and breakfast was lovely—fresh, delicious, and prepared with care. This place isn’t just beautiful—it’s thoughtful. It holds space for rest in a way that feels rare these days. I left lighter, calmer, and incredibly grateful. Highly recommended, especially if you need somewhere to reset.”

“Best kennel to use by far. Wouldn't trust any other to look after our family member doggy. The daily rate is very good. The dogs are very well looked after and ours always are very pleased to be there. The grooming service is also very good and very reasonably priced.”

“First visit to a lodge since my wife has been in a wheelchair. The lodge was exceptionally clean, well spaced and adapted for wheelchairs. In a lovely location in the woods with lovely walks and wildlife. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There were good facilities on site. Highly recommended.”

“I stayed at The Coach House for a week earlier this year, during a trip home to visit family and friends. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful, and I had a fantastic stay. I stayed in one of the old stable rooms, which had a small private patio and a pond. The room was clean, comfortable, and especially lovely with the French doors open and the sunshine streaming in. The included breakfast was delicious and flexible, with options like lactose-free milk, eggs cooked to order, and a selection of cereals. There was also a nice range of fixed items on the menu to choose from. Tea, coffee, and juice rounded out the drinks. The Full English was a standout and set me up perfectly for the day. Next time I visit Derby, I will definitely stay at The Coach House again. Highly recommended.”

“Had a lovely 2 night stay at Breedon Hall this weekend. Charles and Charlotte are amazing hosts and couldn’t be more welcoming. We really loved our room, it had a lovely country house feel and overlooked the beautiful walled garden. The bed was incredibly comfortable with quality linen and the bathroom well appointed. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast in the main kitchen, it was just like visiting friends. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend to others.”

“Stayed only for one night in glamping pod Ash as a mid-way point to home. Friendly owner greeted us and showed us our glamping pod and explained the layout/amenities. Pod was clean and contained all the essentials you could possibly think of. Each pod has their own shower and toilet facility within the "toilet block" for the pods. It's a clean, small, amd peaceful site with plenty of walks in the area and a nice pub within a 15-20 minute walk. Great first experience in a pod. I would highly recommend this camp site. P.S. we greatly appreciated the owners letting us park our car and small caravan on site while we used the pod as we didn't want to unload and put down the feet just for a one night, shirt stay. Thanks again--we enjoyed our stay!”

“I used Dwellings to sell my 4 bed property. Honestly the whole team especially Sam in the office were amazing to deal with. We had an issue with our buyers pulling out but they remarketed the property and resold the house in 2 weeks. We also had issues on completion day (nothing relating to estate agents) and Dwellings went above and beyond to help sort everything out. “I had the delight of staying in the Damson pod, which felt comfortable and warm, boasting panoramic views of the scenery which I have showcased in my photos. While there was no face to face interaction with the owner, they were always ready to help via email and text message, of which, responses were very prompt. The information room on site had all sorts of information about the local area, and the honest shop was well stocked. The site feature 2 full side bathrooms by the information room, both of which were spotlessly clean and well maintained.”

“Follow up review after Rob and Becky guided us from new landlords, managing tenant requests and then delicately managing the ending of a tenancy due to selling the property. All of this was done while we were on the other side of the world, largely conversing by email. Their communication, professionalism and advice throughout the whole process from start to finish has been nothing but faultless, we can’t thank, praise and recommend them highly enough. “Me and my partner stayed here for a treat for his birthday. Wow, it was so relaxing and peaceful . The loft is an amazing get away with a fabulous hot tub. We had the morning breakfast hamper included too which was great! Anything I needed Sarah was just a text away and responded quickly. Left feeling so relaxed and great deffo recommend! Xx”
