“I've stayed at this hotel twice now as it is a good location to stop enroute to seeing family who live in Somerset. Both stays have been comfortable and enjoyable and just what is needed to break up a long journey to the south west from East Yorkshire! Rooms: Comfortable and what you would expect from a Premier Inn hotel. My last stay was in August during hot weather and this did make the room quite warm when trying to sleep. A fan was provided in the room to try and help with this. Service: Friendly, helpful and professional on both visits here. The staff work hard to make everyone feel welcome. Location: Just off the A42 so ideal for anyone looking to break up a long journey. The proximity to a busy road didn't cause any noise issues when staying at the hotel.”

“Magnificent. Room size ideal and with Dog well catered for. Only small issue was with Dog, and its understandable we could not eat in a normal dining room with the Dog, the room we could eat in had a really low table lounge table which made it difficult to eat which is why we did not book breakfast as we could not leave the dog alone in room. This did not detract from anything but should be made clear that you cannot eat normally with a dog.”

“Great away put for the away fans! £5 a pint little steep but it's a good meeting point before the game! Have tvs with sports on and have a good size beer garden”

“First class stay at Holiday Inn Express, great professional service from all staff members. Room and breakfast were excellent as was the shower and room facilities (tea, coffee, towels and toiletries), maid service daily and carried out at a sensible time too. Although the only slightly negative comment would be if you have booked a room with a door to an adjoining room it isn't 100% soundproof, saying that I didn't feel the need to ask to be moved to another room because of it. All in all a very pleasant and trouble free three night stay.”

“Stayed here for my time in Etwall and you couldn’t pick a better spot. The location is fantastic and the room itself was nicely decorated and well maintained. This is all second to the first rate service and the friendliest of staff, who were extremely helpful during my visit. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in lovely Etwall.”

“Location of hotel is brilliant easy access where ever you need to go. Rooms and very clean and homely also the service is brilliant honestly it is next to nothing the staff can’t do enough for you also if you come across a snag they will help you. I’ve also seen the staff run off there feet but still manage to run the hotel when short in numbers all I can say is bravo all well done thank you”

“We popped in fir a Pizza Pony abd had a drink while we waited. Staff are friendly and there's a good atmosphere.”

“Stayed here for going to a gig in town, clean and comfortable, a short walk or taxi ride to the centre of Derby... staff are lovely, plenty of free parking and a buffet breakfast for £10.75... the scrambled eggs were really good, a good choice of hot and cold food plus there's a bar and the restaurant serves other dishes all day.”

“We stayed here on 29th August 2025. First time we have stayed with this chain, Very pleased with our stay. The lovely gentleman who checked us in couldn't have been any more helpful, highly recommend. The room was clean and suited our needs. The breakfast was lovely too.”

“Stayed here last night with my son, as we're spending the weekend at Alton Towers. Cannot praise Mary enough, she will bend over backwards for you. Rooms clean, nice shower, beds comfy enough for one or two nights. Don't expect the Ritz, it's a 3 star hotel and the building is over 200 years old. We would (and probably will) stay here again if we visit the theme park again in future. Thankyou for a lovely stay ☺️”

“Well worth the price! The beds and rooms were clean and comfy, the breakfast was great, and the people running it were lovely. They even had a bar with some good draft options (just need to stock up on ice)! Would definitely stay again next time we go Alton Towers or stepping stones.”

“Always top notch for me I have stayed there many times now I love pretty local on a shared house but sometimes just want my own space. Rooms are always really clean and staff are friendly and welcoming. You really can't go wrong for the price!”

“We had an wonderful stay. The rooms were nice and clean and made up in time for our early check in. Emma was very attentive and very friendly made us feel very welcomed and really appreciate all the help she provided. There was a lot of us and she went out her way to make our stay wonderful! I think the lady who cleaned our rooms was Nina and she was so friendly too the rooms were clean couldn't fault anything. Thank you to you both. Look forward staying again in the future”

“Absolutely amazing service , we needed a hotel for the night last minute due to a awful expereince at our accomodation in Nottingham. We turned up late to reception and the guy went out of his way to get us a room suitable for 3 adults. Nothing was too much trouble and we got a fairly good night's sleep. Staff were amazing , so thank you for coming to our rescue after a awful experience elsewhere”

“A nice hotel in the centre of Derby. Rooms were comfortable, especially the executive ones. The buffet breakfast was tasty and the choice was good. The best thing about this hotel was the staff. Every one of them were helpful, supportive and went about their jobs with a smile. On check in we had an issue with the allocated room and they swapped it with no fuss or bother. Fantastic service from start to finish. Thank you for a great stay.”

“Room was ok, shower was a bit stiff. Ok price for the room. Breakfast was good except no fruit which was strange (there were fruit juices). The lady did go and find my son some fruit yesterday without fuss but it did seem a strange request. Reception very friendly. Ask for a ground floor room if you struggle with stairs as ther is no guest lift (there is a service lift).”

“We had such a wonderful stay! Merrick was absolutely incredible. She arranged a late check-out (a true lifesaver after a wedding celebration!), gave us great advice on parking and taxis, and even shared tips about Derby so we could make the most of our time. She really went above and beyond to make sure us two fellow Scots felt at home. The rest of the team were also fantastic. So friendly, approachable, and always ready to help with anything we needed. The hotel itself is in a brilliant location, within walking distance of lots of pubs, shops, and the city centre. The rooms were spacious, well-equipped, and had everything we needed. The beds were super comfy and the shower pressure was perfect! I would not hesitate to stay here again and would absolutely recommend it to friends. Merrick is a true gem and an excellent credit to the Leonardo team.”

“Marketed our home for sale with Cope & Co after being impressed with the marketing of a nearby property and having a first hand glowing report from that seller. Sean was great at the valuation, positive and reassuring. Then he and Peter did an excellent job of marketing and the write up. The photos and video of the property really were superb and I was so pleased with the effort they went to in highlighting what made our home special to potential buyers. Cope & Co took on the majority of viewings for us, and did their best to follow up on feedback from viewings. At point of offer 8 weeks from marketing the property James managed to get above our asking price. Updates were provided whilst we were SSTC when we requested them and Becky was always on the ball if we called up for anything and was great on completion day! I’m so grateful to everyone we’ve encountered at Cope & Co- especially Sean, for making this process easier and for being a pleasure to work with. “Unbelievably happy with this hotel. Rooms are comfortable, clean and secure. Prices are great and all sectors of staff are excellent. The desk staff are warm, welcoming and always happy to accommodate any requests you may have. HK the manager is extremely hard-working and dedicated to customer satisfaction. All in a very easy going place with reasonable prices and a comfortable atmosphere. Close to all local amenities and easy to access public transport with the train station being directly across the road. Have personally stayed here for multiple weeks and will definitely be staying here a lot more when needed. Thanks for a great experience guys!”

“Room was lovely, bathroom was great, view wasn't brilliant but not an issue. The bar was handy and breakfast in the morning was delicious and very welcome. We'll return the next time we're in Derby”
