“Stopped here for some drinks and food with friends whilst exploring Edinburgh. Great pub, we loved the food and the fact that we could order multiple small dishes to share. Loved the haggis neeps and tatties, overall the food was fresh and fabulous.”

“Traditional Scottish bar with a fantastic selection of quality ales at reasonable prices. Bar is spotlessly clean and the beer is well kept. Has a number of televisions around the bar making it an ideal place for watching sporting events. I hadn't been in here in years, but won't leave it so long next time. Recommended”

“We ducked in here during an especially rainy night for a quick quaff & were pleasantly charmed by the chill vibe & especially friendly bartender, Finn. We chatted with a local patron & swapped travel anecdotes & advice. Somehow, it was both a surprise and also completely expected Edinburgh experience. Would happily go back for another round!”

“The Black Rose Tavern was my first food experience in Edinburgh and it did not disappoint! Designed as an alternative/rock/gothic pub, it offers a fun and inclusive experience. The staff here are incredibly friendly, especially to tourists. They helped me with the best Scottish lager to drink and also gave me a free glass of Irn Bru to really get an authentic Scottish vibe! The food here was fantastic. I tried Haggis Balls as a starter, which was my first time trying Haggis. They were cooked well and I quite enjoyed them! For anyone curious, they taste something like between corned beef and a pork sausage roll. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating here, I recommend the visit as the surrounding area is wonderful.”

“We used to visit years ago but this was our first time in around 5 years. We had a voucher and we enjoyed a main meal and a dessert. The spicy chicken burger was especially tasty, lots of flavour, generous chicken thigh with a good amount of salad, not too salty, and the fries were light and crispy too. Service was very considerate and friendly. Thank you for an enjoyable afternoon!”

“Had probably the best pie i have ever had i had the stake and ale pie the mash was good the carrots were grate the gravy could have been a little thicker but tasted good enough though it was busy great customer service”

“I stayed at the apartments for 1 night over the weekend for the Christmas markets in Edinburgh. The room was spacious and clean, with many add-ons included - iron, ironing board, blow drier, straightening iron, shower gel, conditioner, shampoo, hand soap, hand cream, air purifier, bluetooth speaker, TV. The temperature is automatically regulated but you could request a higher/lower temperature by speaking to staff. The staff was really accommodating and let us check-in 30 mins before 3pm. We had no issues with the room, except a weird sound coming from the radiator every so often. I recommend these rooms highly if you're looking for accommodation near the centre close to shops.”

“Lively atmosphere with music. Staff welcoming and quick. Food was so good. We ordered the buffalo fries and luke the waitress said, it was spicy. I ordered the heatwave chicken. He ordered the parmesean chicken. Yum yum!”

“Really lovely supply of food available to set up the day grandly. Lots of Veggie options which is hugely appreciated. The service is also very pleasant and everyone is keen for you to just have a pleasant time. No rushing , just good ambiance all round. Thanks to Nigel who always makes a fuss of my well behaved hound who joins us regularly . Thank you to all the team for endless wonderful meals. :)”

“A must check out/hang out when in Winchburgh! Local pub flavor and cozy atmosphere. Food was delicious and the staff was super friendly. They were decorating for the upcoming Halloween season, and we're going all out. You can tell this place loves its customers! Great little backyard patio, too! Fantastic place!”

“Brilliant experience in Sing City. Booked for a group of 10 for 3 hours and found the room we were given to be clean and comfortable for that group size. The staff were polite and accommodating and the drinks were very reasonably priced. Will be booking again as I have now had 2 wonderful birthday parties there and all guests enjoyed themselves. Only wee criticism from us was there was not enough musical theatre songs on the system but that might have been a blessing in disguise :)”

“Lovely restaurant and bar below The Brunswick Hotel. Service was very friendly and the recommended dinner (Chicken Parmgiano) was a perfect fit. Quite wide drink menu and Fever Tree as house tonic that paired lovely with the Gin. Thank you for a pleasent evening.”
