“In the area so popped in then lost an hour of my life in hi fi bliss. No sales talk only a relaxed but informative chat on design and manufacturing. The demonstration listening rooms impressed and the Home Cinema room is exceptionally good. Highly recommended a huge range of equipment available with expert advice on hand.”
“We were visiting Edinburgh for a few days and I bought tickets to see Wild Rose as an early mother’s day and birthday present for my mother. Staff were friendly, beautiful theatre. The gait and the legroom were great. The show was excellent, but my mum did struggle at times to follow due to her hearing. The performers were brilliant especially the children. Would recommend for a good night out.”
“Gorgeous architecture and magnificent performance. Friendly and helpful staff”
“Always a fab venue so really glad money is being invested into it for an upgrade. I hope they keep the ceiling art! I'd never been to the upper circle before - vertigo! Festival staff were very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to going back next year after the refurb.”
“I hope this wonderful space never falls in to the hands of property developers. Fantastic cafe at MF Coffee and a popup arts and crafts shop open at the moment too. Love it and Wilma the dug approves too.”
“St Mary's Cathedral is a breathtaking architectural masterpiece that beautifully blends history and artistry. Its inspiring Victorian Gothic style, with intricate details and towering spires, creates a serene and awe-inspiring atmosphere for visitors. The stunning stained glass windows are truly mesmerizing, casting colorful patterns of light that enhance the cathedral's peaceful ambiance. Inside, the cathedral's grand arches, detailed carvings, and tranquil setting make it a perfect place for quiet reflection and admiration. The night view, however, is truly unforgettable. The soft glow of natural lighting, combined with the flickering candles surrounding the cathedral, adds a mystical charm that leaves a lasting impression. Whether you're drawn to historical architecture, looking for a peaceful retreat, or simply want to admire a stunning landmark, St Mary's Cathedral is a must-visit— especially at night, when its beauty takes on an entirely different and magical feel.”
“Visited during at the end of the fringe. Friendly staff , you could feel the fizz of anticipation of festival finishing. Nice venue and stage. Relaxed bar with student vibe where ordering a pint or a chamomile tea is equally acceptable”
“Super wee venue for comedy, small cinema experiences and live music”
“Thank you Kevin, Gerry and Rachel. I am still-in-shock. An outcome of massive relief... Massive. The best choice this whole year was to choose Adams and Whyte. Again, Massive Thank you, S”
“I asked Mari at Picture To Puppet to make a soft toy version of a character my 9 year-old daughter had devised, as a Christmas present. Picture To Puppet did a very neat job and the likeness was excellent. My daughter really likes her cuddly “Daisy” and so we would really recommend Picture To Puppet.”
“Went to see Ultimate Eagles. Seen them before and was not disappointed. In the introduction the lead singer stated they were not trying to be the eagles. They were just appreciating as close as possible to the authentic sound of The Eagles. And boy did they live up to that. Harmonies were spot on and the guitars and musicians were great. Thoroughly enjoyable two hours. Highly recommended.”
“Had an excellent dinner in restaurant prior to show. Theatre is compact with good seats everywhere but not the most comfortable. Show was very entertaining with great acting.”
“2nd visit here for the Wes Anderson double feature and absolutely making it a regular occurrence to see movies here despite me living outside of the city. The ambiance is unmatched, the food options are amazing and allergy inclusive & there’s also a bar where you can order drinks to take into the film with you! Staff are lovely and always helpful.”
“Wonderful Andy gold worthy exhibition. Great themes of life death impermanence and so on.”
“Love Usher Hall. Been here a few times, most recently to see Zak Brown speak about leadership and the 2025 F1 season. A beautiful venue. Reasonable prices. Good seats!”
“A must-visit for a fun and memorable experience! Each floor is filled with incredible optical illusions that kept us entertained and amazed the whole way through. We had a great time exploring all the interactive exhibits. The Camera Obscura itself was fascinating—both fun to watch and interesting to learn about its history. And the view from the rooftop is absolutely stunning, offering one of the best panoramas of Edinburgh. A fantastic place for all ages!”
“Great afternoon out with Grandkids at the Theatre to see the Snowhite pantomime.”
“An extraordinary church, very historic and interesting. The famous writer Agatha Christie is said to have married here. It can be found at the end of Princess Street Gardens. The very helpful and friendly staff at this church allowed us to enter and take a few photos. The stained glass windows are beautiful. I would recommend a visit if you have the opportunity.”
“Used to love Toro Latino before it refurbished into the current form. Staff told me it’s still the same owner but Seafood-themed instead of beef. Chicken espetada is as delicious as it used to be, goat cheese & mushroom croquettes are incredibly complex in flavor, will definitely visit again!”
“Went to Christmas special magic show. Great family entertainment. They only have a bar and snacks now, no restaurant. Lovely old building Plenty of free parking after 6pm.”
“Great venue. Wherever you sit you can see the stage. Comfy seats.”
“Absolutely stunning cinema with great feel to it. I particularly like that less known movies are also shown. Lovely experience that would have been even better if staff had been a little friendlier. Also, the seats are very large so that even bigger bodied people can fit comfortably. All in all recommend!”
“Really nice little theatre, first time here for a fringe show very cool place”
“We came across some great old videos we'd long forgotten but when we came to play them, our long-unused old VHS machine wasn't in the best of health. Looking for a refurbished model or repairer, I came across an advert for this Edinburgh company. After a quick exchange of emails describing the problem we delivered it to the shop, where Julian soon had it working again. Moving Pictures is a place well worth knowing about.”
“Excellent space for creative arts for children and the youths.”
“Park has had a major uplift. Kids love the swing park. Dog walkers love it as it's all flat. The coffee cabin a must for a coffee they even have water bowls for the dogs. If owner gets their way a lot more to come. Looking forward to next walk”
“What a cool place! We were there for a paranormal investigation. The place is definitely haunted! Can't wait to visit for the whole experience.”
“Great venue for the fringe! Can easily spend here the whole day - plenty of options for food, drinks & great show… and a short walk from the Royal Mile. My first show was ‘In Loyal Company’ - highly recommended!”
