โDelighted to have found this local salon, thoroughly professional and friendly service. Great cut and colour from Janet and her lovely team!โ
โPhenomenal service from Alex and Jake, absolutely top lads. As Arnold Schwarzenegger once famously said, "I'll be back".โ
โAbsolutely lovely pub with a beer garden, very friendly and clean and nice atmosphere, reasonable prices too.โ
Elliott Clark Flowers is a charming, family-run florist located on Montagu Terrace in the Goldenacre area of Edinburgh. This local shop is a staple of the community, known for its extraordinary window displays and personalized service. The business offers a wide range of services including bespoke wedding flowers, buttonholes, and elegant funeral arrangements. Beyond traditional floristry, they provide high-quality Christmas trees and a unique selection of homemade jams and marmalades.
โMy partner and I have visited many dog parks (at least 15/20) and weโd say this one is the best one! We live over an hour away but make the journey as our wee beagle loves it here. Definitely one of the biggest ones weโve been to and has everything (lots of space, sensory garden, lots of equipment, fresh water, poo bags, toilet facility etc). Weโre wary of some parks in terms of safety and the wee one escaping but we have no worries with this one. Will be back soon!โ
โBeautiful park with great view on the sea! The park is the most beautiful during cherry blossom season!โ
โWe moved our flat to Home Sweet Home from a much larger management outfit because we found that both we and the property were forgotten about, other than the commission being taken every month. Dan and his team at Home Sweet Home weโre a breath of fresh air. Nothing seemed too much trouble, everything is taken care of, and the tenant has confidence in the team. When the boiler needed replacing Dan was able to recommend an installer who not only saved us thousands ( over BG) but also installed a far superior product and a 12 year warranty. Weโre very happy to recommend Home Sweet Home.โ
โPopped in today for a quick breakfast, toasted homemade soda bread with marmalade and a mug of delicious coffee, outstanding. The place was buzzing with people from all walks of life and the counter was absolutely groaning with an amazing selection of home baking. Cheese scones, brownies, cookies ,quiche and an amazing looking birthday cake to name just a few. So,if you're in the southside of Edinburgh at anytime and looking for somewhere really nice to rest and replenish then head to Kates,I can't think of anywhere better.โ
โThey made the transatlantic transition for my picky Siberian a lot easier! Great food and treat selection and overall the friendliest staff.โ
โFor the past year, Paige and Amber have been grooming both our cockapoos and we couldnโt be more delighted with the fantastic job they do. Such regular, good grooming has also made it easier for us to maintain their coats in between regular professional grooms. The welfare of the dogs in their care is clear to see and they have really helped to reduce the levels of anxiety in our dogs-a trip to the groomers is gradually becoming less stressful! We wouldnโt hesitate to recommend Tullochโs Tails to anyone looking for a friendly, dog-centred, professional and high quality groomers. Thanks Karenโsโ
โWhat brilliant service! Reliable, polite and with a great local knowledge; I thoroughly enjoyed my taxi journey back home to Edinburgh. A night out in south queensferry is lovely, getting home again, not so much (especially as they are planning to stop the no. 40 service!). But now I have found Neil mckenzie's taxi company it will be a doddle to get back home! A proper local company with proper high standards. Tops.โ
โBest barber I have ever used and Linda the barber/owner has great customer service and this makes the whole hair cut experience, a nice relaxed atmosphere, where you can have a bit banter with Linda while she works. Absolutely brilliant barber, recommend LB's barbers to anyone, great place for a haircut.โ
โPiotr was lovely, masterful and a good chat. Gave me the best haircut I've had in years, highly reccomend!โ
โFantastic fresh and tasty food . Itโs like feeling youโre in Greece,Pita Gyros is amazing . Outstanding the best I had in years and when I tried in Greece was exactly the same taste . Also tried fries and zucchini fries were absolutely delicious ! And finally Baklava . Just perfect everything . Nice and tasty every ingredients is so fresh feels like youโre in the Mediterranean Sea. Love the place nice clean and quick. Definitely go back.โ
โAlways a fab venue so really glad money is being invested into it for an upgrade. I hope they keep the ceiling art! I'd never been to the upper circle before - vertigo! Festival staff were very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to going back next year after the refurb.โ
โNice open space- lots of students hanging out enjoying the sun, playing guitars or sports. Some wrought iron benches along the paths. Loads of daffodils in early April and cherry blossoms come out around mid-April.โ
โBeautiful park, great for kids and adults, bring some nuts as the resident squirrels eat them right out of your hand, The parking is free, disabled parking is next to the bandstand, drive through the first parking lot and follow the road through, You could also park in the main street and get access to the front entry of the park, just be mindful of any parking fees or time limits, it is easier to park in the parks, parking lot, There is an old church with an old cemetery, look up to the big square tower of the church and see king Bruce, carved at the top, im not entirely sure but there is a connection to robert the Bruce, from the cemetery the views are absolutely stunning u can see the 3 bridges over the firth of forth Next to this church is the ruins of dunfermline abbey its stunning i prefer ruins, it is free to visit both the church and abbey but for the Abbey they said u had to go online and book your ticket and show the arcade to the staff member You don't need to go into the Abbey grounds to appreciate it, u can look down on it from the cemetery, dogs are allowed into the Abbey but not the church, it is worth going into the church its beautiful beyond words inside A wander around to the glasshouse its full of exotic plants from around the world there is also formal gardens right next to the glasshouse, a bit further up the path heading towards the peacock cafe is a sunken Japanese garden it sadly is a bit over grown and the pagoda thing is falling to bits, its still worth going down there though, Near the cafe, which seemed popular on the day I visited, you will find the peacocks wandering around freely, so its best to keep your dog on a lead in this area, from the cafe its only a short walk back to your car, Overall this park is a must visit especially if you are a history enthusiast, all around the park is hidden remnants of historical buildings My only problem with this park is the chronic lack of signs telling you where to find certain areas, so its just a matter of wandering around until you stumble along something historical There are some pretty steep hills and steep paths made of rocks, but most of the main paths are in good condition but not really suitable for someone in a wheelchair There is an old train engine that kids can climb on, as well as a few large kids play parks There is loads of benches or grassy bits to stop and have a picnic, just keep an eye out for rogue squirrels they really aren't afraid of humans The park is big, around 75 acres if I remember but u can do a short or long walk depending on your fitness Stepping into this park feels like u have stepped back in time, u can feel and imagine how it was like back then, take your time and enjoy the atmosphere of this park xxโ
โAbsolutely loved the mocha here! The best one Iโve ever had. Highly recommend it for breakfast/brunch.โ
โFirst time exploring Cammo Estate and what a lovely serene place it was. Meandering meadows and woodland walks, dotted with ruins and a wee lake. It's quite small but perfect for an afternoon exploring. Toilets were open nearby the Leaf and Bean coffee van (on a Sunday, check opening times as I think they vary). Will definitely come back!โ
โReally nice Pakistani/Indian food with lovely service and great portions; Reasonably priced. Cafe is available upstairs too. Would definitely return and recommendโ
โWe booked to see AlbaFlamenco on their last performance at the Fringe and it was superb. The dance, the music, the ambience - I felt part of a family, it was so inclusive. We asked if we could eat at the restaurant after the performance and we were fitted in. Wow, the tapas was absolutely the best. Everything we ordered was beautifully presented and really tasty. The wine was at the perfect temperature. The lady who seemed to be running things was kind and jolly, and the staff were lovely. Thanks for a great evening.โ
โVisited during at the end of the fringe. Friendly staff , you could feel the fizz of anticipation of festival finishing. Nice venue and stage. Relaxed bar with student vibe where ordering a pint or a chamomile tea is equally acceptableโ
โOutstanding and professional friendly service from the outset. Having made a call to Lawford Kidd and with only a couple of days to spare to get my work place claim in and processed, Derek Carrigan took on my claim knowing time wasn't on our side but this didn't phase him and he dealt with it in a very swift and professional manner. Always kept me updated through every stage of the claim procedure. The claim was settled from start to finish in three months, a lot quicker than I ever imagined. I must thank Derek for the way he put me at ease regarding my claim. I would highly recommend Derek and Lawford Kidd to anyone that requires such services.โ
โThe masters of sour beer in a lovely setting with good food to accompany it. At the moment it is Asian food such as Bao Buns, I'm not sure if the food offering changes from time to time as it is described as 'pop up' online. Sadly I'm not local to be a regular visitor. If you know the sort of beer Vault City so, then you know if this will be your thing. They have a vast selection of their own beers with some guests as well, and a well stocked can fridge too. I would like to see cask beer supported ideally, but it's great for what Vault City do so well- amazing sour beer. Staff were super friendly too.โ
โUnlike Charlotte Sq at the other end of George St this is very definitely open to the public and as a result feels like a vital piece of greenery in the city centre , its always busy with visitors , shoppers and office workers enjoying the open spaces and /or a coffee from the small costa shackโ
โClaire the hairdresser is lovely and I have been very happy with my haircuts since I started going there last year!โ
โGreat choice for the dogs, reasonably priced and great customer serviceโ
โSuper wee venue for comedy, small cinema experiences and live musicโ
โGet my hair cut here often, occasionally a hot shave. Perfect every time and inexpensive. Staff are all very welcoming.โ
โLovely young staff who cope well with some extremely busy spells. Well done.โ
