“What an amazing time we had at this beautiful restaurant with our friend and kids. The food was absolutely amazing , stuff friendly and helpful, we visited on a Sunday , summer holiday , the place was empty which is a shame , I’m glad we decided last minute on this place to eat , didn’t disappoint”
“A pleasant place to eat and drink. The meals were tasty and well presented. Ola delivered excellent service, she recommended good wine, and she made our day. Thank you”
“We had a wonderful meal here. 5he food was absolutely delicious and Garry was very attendive We tried seabrass without diary - perfect 10/10, the regular seabrass 08/10, and the pizza 07/10. The vegan dessert was also a highlight, definitely a 10/10. We enjoyed sitting outside, which made the experience even nicer.”
“Food was delicious. I have multiple food allergies and celiac disease. The staff were able to accomodate my allergies. The chef had some concerns on the marinara sauce that normally came with my chicken so he made separate roasted peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, and garlic. They also let me sub aubergines for mushrooms at no additional charge-I cannot eat aubergines. The food was delicious, and i did not get sick which tells me it was prepared woth minimization of cross contamination. Someone in my party got black ravioli which looked so cool. Everyone's food looked and smelled great. I would recommend for someone with food allergies or celiac disease, or anyone lookibg for a delicious meal. The prices were fair and the portions large.”
“We found this place by complete accident. We are thrilled that we went here from the first moment we were well taken care of. Everything was explained to us how it works the beer was great tasting and well chilled food -stunning selection there is no chance to taste it all in one go there is so much to try... Everything I tasted...was delicious. Thank you we will definitely be back.”
“Caprice is hands down the best Italian restaurant in East Lothian. The food never fails to impress, especially the pizza. Amazing value for money. Our waitress Jade was phenomenal, and offered us an espresso on the house after our meal. Would recommend!!”
“Gorgeous food, would highly recommend eaten here twice while staying in Dunfermline as food & service was that good”
“Wandered in on 28th October with my nephew after a long day. Intimate and charming little Italian. The food, lasagne and calzone, was first-rate, and the girl serving could not have been any more friendly nor helpful. The montage of Italian culture on the wall is superbly done and adds to the engaging atmosphere of the place. A particularly rewarding experience after the offhandedness we experienced earlier that day at Coates Cafe along the road. Will definitely be back.”
“Had the absolute best time here! Bonus points for the amazing gluten free base available!”
“Vapiona is a pretty great restaurant. You get to customise your pasta and it’s all freshly prepared. There are loads of options but vegetarian and non vegetarian. It’s also quite cheap. There is a lot of seating space and you can also see the chefs prepare your food. They also have loads of drinks on the menu and also mocktails. The service is super quick.”
“This is the new location of Vittoria on the Walk and is connected to Brunswick Book club next door. The food is excellent quality and the service was fantastic from Antonio, Kaz and the rest of the team. They made my dad's birthday feel very special.”
“Absolutely fantastic thin crust pizza. The people who rate this lower don’t know thin crust. It could use a bit more cheese but that is compensated for with the nice crust. No flop or wetness. Slice stays upright when you hold it. I give it 5 stars. The staff were also great”
“Food and staff are both excellent, nothing to complain about. The prices are fair and food serverd was in a fast and professional manner”
“Popped in at a whim to get a takeaway pizza to take back to the hotel, ended up getting probably one of the best pizzas of my life? Got the vegetarian and the ratio of sauce to mozzarella to toppings was perfect. Thin crispy base, structural integrity, perfect balance of flavours.”
“Little bit delayed with deliveroo delivery but absolutely worth the wait! First time trying the pasta from here and I will definitely be buying from here again. The grande pot is a great amount, very filling, lots of lovely flavour. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”
“Today I went to Domino’s Pizza and was served by a staff member named Manvir. She was very warm and friendly, and answered all of my questions with great care. The pizza was also delicious — really enjoyed my visit!"”
“We had a lovely family lunch with my 94 year old mother who needs a wheelchair. It was really easy for her and the service was fantastic and they made it very pleasurable. The food was excellent as was the wine. Maybe the plates could have been a wee bit warmer but the food was delicious. Definitely will go back.”
“Fantastic! Very pleased we discovered this excellent cafe. We really enjoyed everything - avocado toast with smoked salmon and fennel, and very tasty ciabatta. Great friendly service too. Highly recommended.”
“Right after you are done eating a sandwich from here, or once you have made and savoured their pasta, you sort of slip into a heady, sweet bliss. And that's what good food is all about. It makes you full, and content, but still makes you yearn for more. Aemelia causes this jolly conflict, and all credit goes to Kip and Giada's craft and dedication. One could carry on waxing lyrically about the place. But insted I will thank them for making our life at Portobello that much more better. P.S: They have a sandwich loyalty card. Absolute must.”
“Had the best pizza of my life while visiting Edinburgh at Napolè. My partners carbonara and martini were also excellent. Vincenzo (sorry if spelt poorly) also gave amazing service and was incredibly friendly. If I didn't live hours away, I would visit here regularly! Definitely worth the price”
“A few weeks before our trip to Scotland, I started researching the best seafood spots in Edinburgh, and Locanda Di Gusti kept popping up as a top recommendation. I’m so glad I followed the reviews and made a reservation—it was hands down one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. Located about a mile and a half from our hotel on the Royal Mile, the walk itself was charming, offering peaceful views of the less touristy side of Edinburgh and even the backside of the castle. But let’s talk about the real star: the food. We arrived hungry and started with a pasta dish to share, followed by the seafood bowl for two. This platter was a dream—octopus, clams, prawns, langoustines, calamari, and mussels—each bite incredibly fresh, perfectly cooked, and bursting with flavor. Truly the finest seafood we’ve ever tasted, and not even a hint of that overly “fishy” taste you sometimes get elsewhere. We finished with a couple of desserts and two lattes, which capped the meal beautifully. While the bill was on the higher side, every penny felt well spent for the quality, flavor, and experience we received. No regrets whatsoever—Locanda Di Gusti is a gem and absolutely worth the visit. Don’t miss it!”
“This place has got to be one of the best restaurants in Edinburgh. Fairly priced, value for money most definitely. Staff really friendly and informative. The food was absolutely delicious. It was a little dark for photos, but here are some of the best of a bad bunch.”
“stopped in here 45 minutes before close on a monday night. a few pastas were sold out but still had options to choose from. we ended up with delicious salmon stracciatella pasta dish and a toasted focaccia panini. both hit just the right spot for a quick bite to eat before more adventures in edinburgh. filled us up without feeling overfull. boys behind the counter were extremely nice. for dessert we had a delicious cannoli to top it off, absolutely would come back here again. great quality at an unbeatable price. p.s. get the chinotto, a delicious refreshing italian soda”
“Love this spot, some of the best sandwiches and bread I’ve had (Coming from a Dutch person). Great service and good prices. When I wake up in the morning the first thing I think of is walking over to Polentoni.”
“Why did it take me so long to come here? Food! Service and atmosphere all on point! Very enjoyable night! Can’t wait to come back and work our way through the menu!! Great job!”
“Absolutely incredible Italian restaurant! The food is all made in-house and you can really taste the passion and quality in every dish. It feels like fine dining, but with a very original twist that makes it stand out from anywhere else in Edinburgh. The flavours are authentic yet creative, and everything is beautifully presented. Highly recommend for anyone who wants a real Italian experience with a unique touch!”
“Hands down amazing. The very best food we had during our stay in Edinburgh. Authentically Italian, the staff were fantastic. Will 100% be coming again then next time we visit”
“This is a lovely little spot for coffee and cake. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff are always friendly. I’ve been here many times, and the quality is always excellent. It’s the kind of place you can count on for good food every time.”
“Came across this gem whilst trying to find somewhere to eat whilst away with work. Hadn't eaten all day and ended up having a fantastic pizza. Staff were attentive and the vibe was nice. Definitely visit!”
“Can't believe I've never came here before. Been seriously missing out. This is hands down the best and most authentic neopoliton pizza in Edinburgh. It's not even a competition. The dough was perfectly cooked. Light. Crispy. Tasty. The quality of the bread in general was just amazing. The atmosphere and ambience of the restaurant was great too. Perfect for a date night, or special occasion. If you are a pizza guy like me then this is a must visit in Edinburgh. I would imagine that you will be as impressed as i was. 10/10”
