“Very beautiful house with great hosts and a delicious breakfast...will definitely stay here again, when back in Edinburgh ❤️”
“Fabulous apartment in the most perfect location - easy walking distance to everywhere you want to go in Edinburgh. Great restaurants and shops on the doorstep - honestly, you couldn't ask for better. The apartment is spacious, spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and has everything you need for a great stay.”
“Visited the penguin enclosure at Edinburgh Zoo last week and it was amazing! The penguins were the mist of their mating season and we could observe their behavior. Unfortunately, Penguins Rock can smell a little fishy but that is expected given the nature of the exhibit. Would recommend if you visit Edinburgh Zoo.”
“We are still not out of the woods but wanted to reassure anyone who has to take their beloved pet here as an emergency that these people will do everything they can. My cat Winston was feeling poorly and not eating too well. After taking him to my normal vet (Dundas Veterinary Group: never again) they told me his creatinine value was 1200 which is not good. 24 hours of fluids and no pain management, only trying to get him some gabapentin via food which he wasn’t eating and his condition was not improving and second blood panel showed 2300 creatinine. I didn’t want to give up especially since no imaging had been done so we received a priority referral to the small animal hospital and the treatment and bedside manner has been night and day. Winston was put on antibiotics, fluids and imaging was done among other things. These things take time and as of this morning his kidney values are back to normal ! Even if things do not end the way we want, I am so comforted by the fact that my cat is getting the absolute best care. Thank you to Joel and Esther and the team for taking such good care your patients and their owners.”
“The perfect place to stay for our mini moon in Edinburgh! The rooms were really comfortable, with a huge bed with lovely bedding. The room had everything we needed: towels and toiletries, hot drinks, TV, as well as access to a lounge area. The location was lovely and quiet, while still being close to the centre on foot and by tram (nearest tram stop was 15 mins walk away). It was a great surprise that many aspects of the B&B were eco-friendly, from the toiletries to the sourcing of the food. John was a great host, super friendly and helpful. You can tell he cares about making sure people have a good stay!”
“We had an amazing stay at The Knight Residence by Mansley. The rooms are quiet and rather well-maintained, and the apartment was spacious enough for a family of four. The apartment comes with a washing machine, which is ideal for those who wish to stay longer here. Although it’s a bit warm at night due to the recent heat wave, the helpful staff supplied us with an electric fan to cool the apartment down.”
“Decided to stay at the Riccarton Inn while working in the area and glad I did. Rooms are basic, but comfortable and are perfect for my needs. The bar seems very popular with locals, despite this, the service is swift and even though we have only been there once we were well attended to. The food is excellent, as is the beer! I will be back in the area in a couple of weeks and will be booking into The Riccarton Inn. Don't be put off by the lack of an available breakfast, just head along to Molly's or Corner Cafe for a fantastic breakfast. It's understandable that no breakfast is provided as there are only 5 bedrooms.”
“We enjoyed our dinner and our server Finley was delightful and with great suggestions. I ordered the haggis bon bons, black and blue burger and an Irn Bru. All was delicious. Hubby went traditional with a 9A burger and a soda. he enjoyed it immensely. The French fries were excellent. We finished our meal with a coffee pudding with vanilla ice cream. Yummy.”
“Close to the centre, only 3 miles and a £13 cab ride will get you there. Nice clean rooms with a breakfast that sets you up for the day. The couple that run the guest house are friendly and approachable, what more could you want.”
“We have a tricky little rescue dog who we never thought would be able to go to a doggy daycare… until we met Alicia! Now our dog goes every week to daycare, has started to play with the other dogs and loves to get cuddles from the staff there. We always know she’s in safe hands and will be securely dropped off at home. This has been a life changer for us! Thanks team!”
“My dogs love going here. The care and attention given them by staff is second to none. I am always getting asked where my dogs are groomed as they always look amazing. Can't speak highly enough about them. Amazing”
“Laura started walking our dog last year as we wanted to get him more socialised. He was nervous at first but now absolutely loves his walks and is so excited when she arrives. Laura is professional, kind and genuinely loves her job and the animals she cares for. Wouln’t trust anyone else to walk our dog!”
“Excellent bed and breakfast in a 200 year old mansion. The room was large, the bed very comfortable, the breakfast delicious and the atmosphere luxurious.”
“Great place for getting your dog groomed at very competitive prices and they really take care of your dog while they’re there, it also has a shop out the front of the shop, the groomers is in the back, which sells all kinds of dog related items including winter jackets, other clothing items for your pooch as well as toys etc..”
“Very experienced friendly owners and staff, made in easy for us to leave our furry family in their care. Really, clean well organised kennels, with super outside areas for exercise. We will definetely use again and highly recommend trying even if your wary of leaving your dogs in someone else's care. Ours trotted in tails wagging and trotted out tails wagging after their 4 day stay. We particularly appreciate being able to specify dietary needs and medications in detail. We also appreciated the staff being able to recognise our dogs personalities and accurately describe them to us. A sure sign of a great depth of knowledge.”
“Great people helpful and friendly”
“Excellent service, friendly, helpful, and caring staff. I wouldn't go anywhere else with my fur babies.”
“One of the best doggy day cares that I have left my little cockapoo at. All the staff are amazing and he is always super excited to return and very tired at the end of the day after a fun filled day of play. Very happy dog, very happy owner! Would certainly highly recommend Winstons”
“This is the second year I have used Edinburgh Festival Rentals for help with a property I rent out for the month of August. Louise, the Director, has been great to work with and her team is very friendly and knowledgeable. They always handle my requests in a timely manner and very kind when speaking on the phone. Highly recommend this company if you have a property available for short term rentals, not just during the festival but all year round as well.”
“Got these beauties in Home Bargain in Westside Plaza, social distancing in place, cleaning/sanitising stations throughout, staff friendly and helpful, and the prices are always great!”
“We are a local Edinburgh Contractor, Drumorne used us to carry out some electrical compliance work. They are an asset to the community and their guests - they prioritse safety and settle invoices promptly. Happy to recommend.”
“We stayed in the Rosehall Hotel for a week and we really liked Our stay here. The Hotel is located quite central, you can take several buses and be in Edinburgh oldtown in like 10 Minutes. But the Dalkeith Road in itself is very quiet. The house is a Nice old (victorian?) building with original architectual elements that are complimented by the newer Addition to the interior. The Hotel is Not your cookie-cutter modern Business hotel but a cozy historic and personal place to stay. The Service was always Nice and helpfull, Our room was very cozy and the Breakfast was simple, cheap and tasty. We would stay here again :) Cheers from Hamburg, Germany”
“Superb apartments with all the comforts of home! The introductory folder provided in the room is very helpful. Ms. Catriona and Mr. Russell are most obliging hosts.”
“Great place to stay. The room was very nice and met our needs. The owners were always present, friendly, and helpful. Location was great just a short ride from all the attractions. We would not hesitate to stay here again.”
“We've brought our cat to stay at Manor Lodge for holidays over the last couple of years now and are really happy with the care Elizabeth takes with our pet.”
“We did not stay at this hotel, but used them through Nannybag to store our luggage for a day. The moment we walked through the front door, we knew that we’d have to come back to stay here. The hotel is so charming! Has a great feel when you walk in, and the staff was very friendly. I also wanted to thank the manager who was there on Monday, 25/08/2025 (American guy with long hair and glasses - sorry we did not get your name!) The road was closed after 5pm for Fringe events, and the gentleman helped us walk our luggage all the way down the street to wait for our driver to pick us up. He even stayed and chatted with us for a bit so we were not alone. He was so friendly and accommodating, and because of him - we would happily come back and stay at this hotel next time we’re in Edinburgh! We cannot thank you enough for your kindness - Things like this leave a lasting impression on people.”
“It was a truly great experience. The nightly music created such a vibrant atmosphere, and the staff were absolutely amazing — warm, attentive, and full of positive energy.”
“Absolutely phenomenal place to stay. Couldn’t recommend anymore. We requested a double bed and we were given t with no issue. Also requested early check in through booking.com as it is usually 2:00. That was carried out for us also no problem. The decor is just stunning. Rooms are large, bathrooms are very small but for a few nights definitely is adequate. There’s Netflix in the rooms as well as kettle and a hairdryer, no bath but an amazing shower. Got free breakfast on the morning and all only cost £70 which is brilliant for the area. Free parking, shopping centre a 5 minute walk away, bus stop across the road that gets you right into the city centre as well as the most friendly host you’ll ever meet. So much better than going to a big branch of hotel. Instead give them a miss and go to this lovely little guest house, save your money and have the most amazing time with hosts to aid your every need.”
“Breakfast here is top notch. This is not your cheap and cheerful Wetherspoons breakfast (and they aren't bad either!). Great choice of breakfast options and good coffee to go with it. Scottish Breakfast was top notch.”
“Went there to buy something to fill a hole in my wall. The owner did not try to make me go for the expensive stuff, instead he gave me good advice about what I should do to save up on unnecessary materials and tools. He knew I’m a student, so he was actively trying to get me the best results for the lowest price. He also explained the whole process of filling in a wall, sanding it, and painting it over. 10/10 experience.”
