“We needed a last night hotel near the airport to catch an early flight out of Edinburgh. This B&B was cheaper than anything we could find that was comparable. It had four beds (we needed three) and a nice bathroom. We were greeted shortly after we arrived and made to feel welcome. Although our stay was brief, we were able to walk to dinner at a nearby restaurant and our private off road parking sealed the deal.”

“Huggy was our DJ for our amazing wedding at Edinburgh Castle. Huggy was such a friendly guy & knew what songs to play to get people onto the dance floor. Great music & all our guests had a ball. I would thoroughly recommend Chaplins Disco. Thanks Jim”

“Have used Esq. since I came back to Edinburgh last year. A special wee barbers tucked off of the main street in Bruntsfield. Normally, Angie cuts my hair and she always seems to have a good idea what will look right. Loads of friendly banter from both Angie and Kenny. The fact that they have a very regular clientele reflects favourably upon the quality of service, the personable atmosphere of the shop and their competitive pricing.”

“Having not wore a suit or dress shirt for many years I came into this shop and asked for help. Andrew was great taking the time to listen, measure me and advise without any pressure to buy. He opened some shirts for me to try on and I eventually walked away with some new smart clothes that I liked and fitted me. Hard to find this good old fashioned service these days and nice to see some independent shops with attention to personal service still around.”

“Lynn & David are perfect hosts. Room (en suite) is very spacious. We were asked what we would like for breakfast and, when served, it was delicious with orange juice, cereal, fresh fruit and toast. Very central..walked to Botanical Gardens, Edinburgh Castle and Museum. 25k steps..will sleep tonight.”

“I came in on Saturday 18 February with my Mum who is in her 70s and still thinks she is a M&S size 14 (she’s probably a size 10). The lady who served us was absolutely gorgeous, Mum tried on a couple of jumpers, there was one clear winner but she’d chosen a medium to try on which drowned her, we swapped her to the small but even that was too big, we had to persuade her to try XS which was perfect. The staff member was just so lovely, helpful and kind. Big advert for shop independent. Thank you.”

They have really convenient ordering system on their website. Huge plus for vegan options. Definitely our new favourite local takeout.”

“A pleasant path for walking and running. It can get a bit crowded on sunny days, making it a little too narrow for comfortable running, but overall it’s a beautiful walk.”
