Relaxed dining experience in Leeds

“Tucked away in the back streets of Huddersfield - what a surprise. Delightful outside and tastefully decorated inside, my photos don't do it justice. The staff were excellent, friendly, welcoming and very efficient. My friend and I had a two course Christmas lunch. Beautifully presented, not as good to eat. The roast potatoes weren't crispy, the sausage in the pig in blanket wasn't very nice and the stuffing was typically 'Paxo' but the greens, mash, turkey and gravy were lovely. The Christmas pudding also wasn't to my taste, huge lumps of fruit with nuts on the outer rim, quite nasty, my friend however enjoyed it. Just shows its all a matter of taste.”

“I absolutely love this sandwich shop. Bacon and egg sandwich is the best from there. Totally recommend. Good eggs and a good amount of bacon too. Not too expensive and the staff are lovely. 10/10 recommend!!”

“A beautiful and perfectly formed little café (although there is also an upstairs) serving excellent food (the bacon sandwich was divine!). The decor is so unique and the ladies could not have been more accomodating, friendly and welcoming as I needed a charging point for my laptop to do some work as well as a bite to eat and drink. The coffee is hot, fresh, delicious and everything is sensibly priced. An absolute gem of a café, if you're in Elland make sure you stop off, you will not be disappointed. “A fantastic local place in Mirfield - the staff are so friendly and welcoming. The drinks are great and cakes/savouries are delicious. They have regular food pop ups on weekends which are perfect to try different and new cuisines! Would definitely recommend for during the day - I haven’t visited on an evening yet so can’t comment on what it’s like. We are regulars here and my little boy is obsessed with seeing the staff who are so lovely to him.”

“This is a great place for a relaxed coffee or lunch. We found the coffee and food really good and the service excellent. My husband is in an electric wheelchair but despite the journey through the store and up in the lift, access was ok and the staff eager to find us a good spot in the cafe. Original, wholesome and relaxing coffee spot. We’re holidaying between Harrogate and York again and we will visit this place several times…. Just off there now in fact!”

“We attended yesterday after the owner kindly reserved a table of 6 at short notice on a busy Sunday afternoon. Boothwood Inn is a very warm/welcoming place and very nice decor inside. The staff were very friendly and always happy to assist with anything, the owner takes time to speak with most people and is a very nice genuine guy. I ordered the roast beef dinner and I would honestly say this was one of the best dinners I have had (I told the owner I like fatty/well done beef) and when my dinner was brought out he also brought out a side plate of well done beef for me. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. 10/10 for everything.”

“The place is an Absolute hidden gem. The building is stunning and the new beer garden is perfect for all ages. The food is amazing and caters for all tastes. The owners and staff are very professional and welcoming. If you’ve never tried the Circle it’s an absolute must. Even a Bouncy castle for the kids inside. 5 stars doesn’t do it justice.”

“My wife and I had lunch and what a lovely meal it was. As it is a French restaurant I had Fish soup and it didn't disappoint. I have not had Fish soup for a long time and it brought all the memories back from going to France on holiday. I had Calves liver for my main course and it was beautiful. “Piassa is wonderful! I've been twice now and can't praise the place highly enough! We originally booked for 12 people but had 5 drop out due to illness so the place can accommodate reasonably large groups. There's a good selection of draught beers, bottles Ethiopian & Eritrean beers and spirits. I've had food from both the vegan and meaty menus and both were incredible. Simple, delicious dishes that are filling and warming. Decent portions of very tasty food and a really friendly, happy, lively atmosphere. The staff are really lovely too and Parking is either on the street (free of charge) or there's a nearby bit of disused land to park on (unsure if there's a fee). Piassa is cash only but there's a cash machine with free withdrawals in the petrol station over the road. There is a cash machine right outside the restaurant but it charges £1.99 for withdrawals and it swallowed the cards of 2 friends so it's probably best to avoid that one. Eating at Piassa is an overall pleasurable experience which if highly recommended! A real hidden gem! ♥️”
