“Seriously delicious food. Walked in without booking on a Sunday and luckily secured a spot. Looking around they were doing multiple shifts of booked tables so next time I'll book in advance to be sure of a place! The staff was very attentive and even brought hot water with lemon when they noticed my aunt had a cough. We weren't charged for it which made us feel seen and appreciated. Waiter was happy and in for a joke but professional nonetheless. Both waiters on duty took time to answer our questions and didn't rush us to order. The food tasted excellent, was served quickly, but didn't feel like it was pre-made. I will definitely be returning.”

“We took my Aunt for her 70th birthday we wasn't disappointed. The Venison wss the best i've eaten cooked to perfection. All the food was well worth the money great evening out.”

“We've visited this pub restaurant before and loved it. Housed in a Grade II listed building it has a comforting ambience. The menu is definitely meat based and the service is really nice: friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. We really like it. We nibbled on some "Blistered Padron peppers with sea salt" - excellent - and then, as we'd had a lunch, we chose to share: - 300g Chargrilled Ex Dairy Ribeye served with beef fat roast tomato, spinach, garlic & watercress pesto, & skinny fries or chunky chips The steak was perfectly cooked - beautifully medium rare, with skinny chips and a delicious brandy-based sauce. No room for pud, unfortunately! A really good meal in a really nice place. (I took the photo after we'd shared the steak and started to eat it! “Wonderfully welcoming pub with fantastic staff that truly went the extra mile. We visited here as a group of 8 for my mother in laws birthday and the staff were so great with the children and let us bring in our own birthday cake. No rushing us from our table when we finished, it was very relaxed. The food was also amazing, especially the steak pie that I had! We will definitely be back in the future.”

“Absolutely brilliant! It’s cash only but there’s an ATM next door. The food is amazing, the wine is great and the service and ambiance are perfect. I took a friend before the theatre but it’s perfect for a date or a big group as they do these big sharing platters as well as their main menu dishes.”

“now, let me start this review by saying, i’ve hated pizza all my life. pizza has always been one of those foods i rolled my eyes at once mum said we’d be getting some. me and some mates came here after they begged and spoke of how good this pizza was, and i’ve never been happier about trusting friends. this pizza has changed my life morals and ethics. the soft dough, perfect ratio of sauce to cheese. now i love ordering here for a cheeky slice. the workers? nicest people i’ve ever met. honestly, so kind and quick, even on a busy friday.”

“Great experience with young family. Prebooked online which I would suggest as there was a big line waiting for walk up. Nice basic little boats, easy to operate and safe enough to give your kids a turn driving. Nice views and not bad value at £40 for an hour. Good on a hot sunny day.”

“We stayed here for out visit to york. Its an amazing location and accessible to all key places in city. There is only one parking space. If you have a second car, it has to be parked on the road. there is a parking permit provided by the owner. So, its also covered. house is good and cosy. All ameneties are available.”

“We had a lovely few days in York staying at Reubens Court. The apartment was a great space for a few nights and had everything we needed. ♥️ The kitchen, sitting space was adequate for 2people and included lots of crockery, cutlery etc, even a washer dryer. I definitely recommend this location for anyone needing more than 1 or 2 nights.”

“We had no idea this was a plant based restaurant (there wasn't really mentioned of it being 100% plant based on Deliveroo), however that wasn't an issue, the food was incredible and we genuinely wouldn't have had any idea it was vegan if we hadn't of noticed the sticker on the bag. “Wow- What a beautiful setting! We visited on the off chance for our wedding anniversary and didn’t expect them to be so accommodating and kind. Anna provided exceptional service and her bubbly nature just added to our special day. She even gave us a drink to celebrate properly with. I would not hesitate to visit again. York is our favourite place. I can’t believe we haven’t been before now!”

“We purchased a YO1 Middleton's afternoon tea voucher for four people. The tea was excellent, the gentleman who served us was friendly, professional and welcoming even though he was busy, it was much appreciated. The finger sandwhiches were fresh and tasty, ham and lettuce, cheese and pickle and salmon and cream cheese. The fruit scones were warm and tasty, especially when the jam and cream were added. The selection of cakes was great, macaroons, brownies and other cakes. A very nice experience as a couple or when shared with friends. Many thanks to our host/waiter for making us feel valued customers.”

“I had dinner with friends yesterday. The portions of course were big, the food also was served quickly, and the price was very reasonable compared to other Chinese restaurants. My favorite was the spring rolls, which were really good! It is different from the normal small spring rolls, but big and crispy. And sweet and sour chicken with duck dish.”
